  1. Hey, its no problem. I found my next car on the same trip. Whenever you get ready let me know, stuff like this pops up frequently around here because of the rust. I'll keep my eyes on the papers. If one comes up that I can get cheap enough I might make a donation.
  2. I don't like it. It's different, but in a police car kinda way.
  3. beataru, yes as long as its an 84-up leone. 84 Began the ea82 series for japan, and other markets. That is what they are called there
  4. Connie. I took me a drive today. I found something interesting I thought I'd mention. 86-87 d/r4wd wagon. $250. If you wanted it, I can pick it up and strip off everything you need and meet you somewhere with the parts Bucky needs to be swapped.
  5. Before we have the guy throw more moeny at his car that he might want or need to. Lets employ K.I.S.S. Go out and buy a couple cans of heavy duty engine degreaser. Let your engine cool off, spray in down with degreaser, being careful around the disty and electrical connections so as not to cause further problem. Let it sit on that cold engine so it can have time to eat away at the gunk built up. Grab a couple plastic bags, for disty alternator and such. Go to a car wash, and spray it off. Avoid the high pressure spray as much as you car, but if the grime is stubborn let it have it. You need to get the motor top and bottom as keep as you possibly can. Fill it with oil and drive home. Find the oil wet spots on the motor and go from there.
  6. No, don't take what I said that way. I was direction that to 75subie. Where he had said bout the motor and stuff not lasting long. The things replaced mean that the drivetrain aspect will be safe for some time to come, with proper upkeep of course. The main thing it comes down to. For your negociating, the dealer ship will try to use those new parts to make it worth more. You must use those parts as an example that the car wasn't properly cared for by the PO, and therefore because of said abuse is not worth what they want.
  7. I like to counteract humor with seriousness sometimes, lol.
  8. If you are just looking for a wagon type subaru. I know of somebody who was selling an impreza wagon prety cheap...
  9. I really don't think that was an option. But it could be accomplished with a wheel spacer and another wagon wheel turned backwards and bolted on.
  10. Check around the oil filter and drain plug too just to be sure. But it sounds like you've got something major going on there... How does the clutch feel. If it is leaking that bad from the rear main it would almost certainly get thrown onto the clutch.
  11. What does the lot want for the car to begin with. I probably wouldn't give any more than $3500. And that would be a far stretch IMHO. For any car with that miles on it.
  12. I'm about 80% sure he's thinking for his wrx. It had upper 160K on it when he bought it a month or so ago.
  13. Best I can remember the codes are the same for the 90 and 91 ecu's.
  14. I'll throw this on the table. Not for anything other than a reference. The ea81 owner's manual recommends an octane rationg of 90 of high. And darn near everybody runs 87 in them. So I don't personally believe it will hurt anything to just get the cheap stuff and go.
  15. www.radiatorbarn.com has them for right around $115 shipped For the ea81. If yours is questionable I wouldn't bother messing with it, when it will be going out anyways.
  16. Its always fun to mess with them when you can. Its rare for me to find a salesman who actually knows what he is talking about. My father in law is looking for an SSR, so far in the last week we've heard they are awd, and that the 03/04 year has a corvette engine.
  17. my email should be listed in my public profile as iownasubaru at yahoo dot com.
  18. x2... If yours are bad you might try finding better ones from a junk yard...
  19. https://www.subarugenuineparts.com/oe_parts_cat.html Go here. Enter in your year and model. Search for mechanical parts. Click the following subheadings: Emissions System, Emissions System, Emissions System, PCV Valve. Its listed for $6.59+ shipping.
  20. It said it's at a dealer for $8. But you can always work with the sales people. If you go in well informed about what you are looking at. I've saved friends and family about $15k total in the last two years alone with some savy negotiating skills.
  21. use your email provider, yahoo, hotmail or whichever you have and attach it there.
  22. Quick browse, not cheap... motor http://www.overnightautoparts.com/storefront/buy.php?make_text=subaru&model_text=loyale&ml=&year=1990&part_name=engine_mount&brand_name=oeq&make_code=SU tranny http://www.overnightautoparts.com/storefront/buy.php?make_text=subaru&model_text=loyale&ml=&year=1990&part_name=transmission_mount&brand_name=oeq&make_code=SU -I'm Bratman Shannon
  23. Follow the tubes. There is a valve that screws into the intake manifold. I don't remember exactly where it is on the ea82 though. Best to replace with an oe subaru part.
