Plenty enough people use ea tranny with ej conversions. And there are a couple 5mt converted fwd xt6's using the ea82 2wd in them. The er27 makes mor power and torque than an ej22.

Unless I missed a post, I never read anything about the cars needing to be disassembled...

Don't they use the same idlers as an ea82?

If you don't have any luck with a leg/imp fwd tranny. You could consider the adapter/ ea fwd as an option as well.

The absolute worst thing you can ever do with rust is ignore it. Spend some time with a wire brush if its bad. Knock the flaky stuff off. And use some sort of rust neutralizer. Then prime, paint, and undercoat the entire undercariage of the car.

Sounds like yours is about as good as mine. They don't even have the brat/hatch parts book. But I do, lol.

I think the biggest difference in the fenders is where the radio antenna mounts. Early ea81, like 80-81 maybe 82 mount on the driver's side, and from there up they are on the passenger's side. I had somebody on here check availability of the rockers from subaru. Seems like there were still a few in stock in the states. If you want I can look up the part numbers again.
