before i go tear it completely appart and take pictures of everything and put it in the forsale forum, im wondering if there will be any interest in any parts from my 81 brat. if i could get just a few brief responses with what you might want and what you would pay for it, i'll decide if it'll be worth my time to part it out to someone, or just scrap it....

that's pretty sweet. i think im going to try and go for alot of detail in the pattern.... mainly because i have access to a paint booth, so i figure i might as well try and make it as good as possible....

ok, i think i've lost my mind again..... how many body styles of the gen 2 brat are there? some seem to look ALOT longer while others look short and squatty... am i crazy? you dont need a pattern!! just free hand it! ORder an airbrush kit for 3 bucks (on clearence at harbor freight from 20 bucks) and just start painting!!! go for the real leaves tecjnique, and i'll go for the urban snow and we'll compare... (it'll be awiile on mine though, as i still have to go BUY the car im wanting to paint!!!!)

this is the best example i've found i think...but i am giong to go for a white urban scheme i think... more like this pattern and color...

i know this has probably been covered before, but as far as i can tell, it's always been covered under "what color should i paint my new soob"..... I'm trying to see some different camo paterns already on cars, to see if i can come up with a kinda original one.... So if you have camo paint, or have a picture of a soob....or any car i guess... with camo, post it up if you dont mind... i'm excited to see the creativity flowin!!! thanks

Am i crazy??? i thought the tranny was bad in my wagon cuz i cant find 5th gear.... does it HAVE a 5th gear????

i want to put the push bar from my 81 brat onto my 80 wagon... will it bold right on???

trying to find out what an ea81 engine and tranny are worth. any thoughts at all? mid 100k on the engine. any input would be grand. thanks

maybe the carb? Sounds like what mine was doing... bad carb and a sticky choke

To be honest with you... i dont think it's worth the 2 hour drive.... just call the guy and tell him you dont want it.... (then give him my number so i can drive 10 hours to get it! ) haha

Yeah, if you get it running and it's rust free, i'll buy it from ya! Heck, if it drives, i'll drive down and pick it up and drive it home! Paso isnt too too far from here....

well, if money makes you have hubs instead of wheels, at LEAST go get a set of spinner hubs from walmart!!! If you've gotta have fake BLING, make it REAlLLY rediculous!!! (i had those things on my Toyota Paseo..... it just had to be done...)

good point.. i did adjust it a couple of weeks ago... maybe i set the idle too low... thanks

when i try to start the wagon after it has been sitting for more than 3 hours or so it has a REALLY hard time starting. once it finally does start, it sounds like its about to die for about 2 minutes and it i take the clutch out at all or try to give it any gas, it DOES die.... WHY does my wagon hate starting???????? :dead: By the way, once it gets going, it starts just fine every time unless it sits too long again... it also has started backfiring when i shut it off the first time, i dont know if that's got anything to do with anything, but there it is.....

i've had them be pretty cool before with me. But i also live in a really small town out in the hicks. The one time i went to a bigger town to the DMV the people were all RUDE!! he didnt buy the car, it was given to him

yeah, its rust free. the body is in great shape except for the paint. no rust at all. I have a plan for the price, but it will revolve around how much the back fees are

Well, i went and looked at the car. The kid had it running, but then all of a sudden it doesnt run any more. he got the alternator and the started tested because when you try and start it it just goes "click click", but both were good. The paint is pretty shot, so it will probably end up with a rattle can camo job. The interior isnt BAD, but the seats do have covers. It looks like there were rodents in the engine bay though, which wories me..... PLUS there are back fees on it with DMV. I'm gonig to go to DMV tomorrow and try to negotiate the fees down a bit. If i can do that, then i think i'm going to get the car, as long as i can find someone on here with a tranny for it.....

i really want to get thesubarujunkies phone number before i head down there.... i have my new soob with me, so i cant even tow the brat home. i dont want to get there and really want it and now be able to bring it home. i need someone in sacramento who can tow it for me!!!
