yeah, i had a pic of the 84 but it is from the front, and the hood looks like a loyal hood... so the the headlights... anyways DUDE, 4X4!!! I made the guy go out and throw a battery in it and it fired right up and i guess the AC blows cold too! Sittin for 8 years and started after like 5 cranks.... RADICAL! I'm going to look at the 84 on friday.... then i will officially decide which to get... i think i'll probably end up with the 84... i just wish the old man would give me a little bit of a better deal.... grrrrrr. anyhow, story still applies if someone has pics of their 84, i'd like to see them... thanks!!! p.s. I CANT WAIT TO GET BACK TO CALI!! I WANT A FRIGGIN NEW SOOBIE!

does the 84 gl wagon look like the 85 and newer (the loyal look) or does it look like the 83 and older (the rounder look) ? if you own an 84 gl, would you pretty please put up a few pics of it so i can see what i'm getting myself into! thanks

just talked to the guy with the 84.... if i can talk him down on the price, it looks like i'm going for that one, and then 4x4 might buy the 81 so all us nor cal folks can have a project! haha

yeah, the 81 s in good shape, AND it's 1/2 the price of the other... if i could magically get the 84 for $400 bucks, i'd go for it for sure.... damn the smog

haha.. i'm not sure what they did.. it's just sitting in the yard... the kid who is selling it is selling it for his landloard.... to who really knows what in the work was done to try and make it pass.... plus, the kid is willing to do best offer on the car, but the price goes up every time i ask him to go out and check on something on the car! haaha... so i think i should just drive down and see for myself... stupid CA smog.... I HATE YOU I HATE YOU I HATE YOU! i've lost 2 cars to you thus far.. i will not lose another!!!!

well a while ago i put news seats in my 2.5i... BUT the air bag connections do not match up.. i'm afraid to splice wires and such and have everything explode in my face... anyone know EXACTLY how to do this? For that matter, is there anyone in northern cali (within say 3 hours from sacramento) who would be willing to help me out?!?!!? HEEEEEEEEELP!!

yeah, i WANT the 81... its been sitting since 01, but the guy went out and said it fired right up... i'm just worried about not being able to get it to smog.. if i cant smog it, then it;s useless and i'll have to practically give it away... which sucks.... plus, a plus to the other car is that the same person has always owned it, which seems like a good perk... but im for sure leaning to the 81...

81 gl which supposedly can not pass smog but looks to be in REALLY great shape.... $450 or 84 gl from the ORIGINAL owner, currently reg. but it has 192k on it... and looks like this... $800 what would you do....?

81 gl. sitting since 01. supposedly will not smog, and no one has tried to start it since then.... looks to be in great shape from the pics. i want to go down to look at it next week. its in merced.

i was thinking that the perpfect kill switch for my old wagon with the super bad exhaust leak would be to have a switch that clogged your exhaust. this way, the theif can get in, start the vehicle, start to drive it, but the exhaust comes pouring into the car, killing him within a block or two.... rest assured- he wont be back to steal anything else any time soon... and you wont get a ticket for shooting a gun! "well officer that's exactly why it's just sittin there!!! idiot stole the WRONG car....." and you're off scott free.... i mean honestly- they can't put you in jail for having a crappy car!!!!

Well that would be awesome then if we could get your brat going well, esp if we can use the shop. i SUCK at cars still ( and dont make connie come and slap you for saying it's cuz i'm a girl.....) ; but i'm more than willing to do whatever someone tells me to help. i'm in oregon picking up my 06' imp. (hit up deer up here about 6 weeks ago, so she's been in the shop) but i should be back in sac by the weekend, and pretty much any time after that i would be up for helping you out on the brat. ok, well I know before that I've tried to get a little meet up group going in nor cal for some wrenching fun and eventual off roading, but it seems like people are really spread out! I'm wondering if by chance the Sac area people have multiplied at all by now??? I know only of TheSubaruJunkie in the immediate Sac area, and he's sold out for the Yota off roader! though I think he might be interested in a meet up still. Anyways, I'm trying to buy a new toy, and i think i found a great one, but i will really need some help getting her going.... so i'm trying to hook up with some people who can help, as well as find some people i can help wrench, and just get a good little group going... soooooooooo, if you're out there, lemme know! I have a garage we can work in, but not TOOO many tools (trying to find a good air compressor.... but dont have one yet...) so lets get something going! I'm in midtown and ready to wrench whenever!
