  1. Anyone have a Carfax or NADA account I can use?
  2. I think thats a NO on both counts.
  3. In order of effect/improvement/bang for buck: 5 speed tranny swap Turbo back exhaust Crossover pipe WRX or Legacy turbo charger Intake system mods boost controller valvetrain mods (Raise redline) everything from here on gets cost prohibitive
  4. Try delrin, can't go wrong with self lubrication!!! :D I used it to make shifter bushings and it is wonderful stuff! pretty hard but not rock solid.
  5. Did you know that catalytic converters use platinum as part of the catalyst? That crud is more valuable than gold!!! Although it would need to be treated because of the toxic engine gases.
  6. Take a pic so I know what to look for.
  7. I would tend to think the vacuum system would work better regardless of tranny used because it gets signal from the engine, not from a cable from the tranny. I drove my turbo wagon once and it only had two gears so I didn't use the CC.
  8. Could you make some replacement panels for me? simple stuff nothing to the degree you did on your car. Ill pm you.
  9. Heres the article So I was wrong on the 4.11 part AND the 3.90 part!!!
  10. I'm pretty sure that in gen 1 4WD cars the front diff and the rear diff had different ratios. I remember reading that Subaru didn't manufacture any rear diffs so they bought them from Datsun and had to use a multiplyer gear for 4WD to get the ratios to match. This would explain why some beleive Gen 1's have 4.11 (front) and 3.90 (rear) gearing. I think that a 3.90 rear will work, but I'll have to take a look at Ben's brat.
  11. Would the ring gears from a gen 1 brat fit in a EA82 diff?
  12. Would this work if the diff were a 3.9 unit?
  13. Any other opinions?
  14. Ben, those are Touring Wagons. We got them here and I've seen a couple around. Keep your eyes peeled for em, Extra points if its got a raised the roof!
  15. For the money, I'd look at the Mazdaspeed Miata. $26K and only $800 more than an LS w/ options. What are the plans for the XT6 and related parts?
  16. the trailing arms on the rear of the brat will not clear any tire that is not close to the stock size.
  17. Yes, I did have to lengthen the driveshaft. I used the stock 3EAT shaft and had it lengthened 2.56 inches. Not 100% on that, but it would be the difference between the EA82 2pc driveshaft and the EA81T driveshaft. Ed can verify my number.
  18. Any turbo ECU from 85 should work. The RX's engine was no different than any other EA82T. You're not supposed to get trouble codes with the engine running. what is code 12 (Thats what you're getting) for EA82T in the FSM?
  19. While brousing Rudy's pics I came accross and noticed it has a 6k rpm redline. I can't tell in the other pics of this car and it's engine swap if it has a duel carb engine, but if it does then maybe the dual carb engines reved higher?
  20. Need to find a catalog online of WRX parts numbers. Anyone got links?
  21. If you have one or can borrow one, use a FSM and follow the trouble shooting trees to figure out the problem. Might try a different ECU.
  22. Thats too funny! The NEON, Chrysler's finest? HAHAHA!!!
  23. Like stated above, the RX/RS had 3.7 gears. All autos had 3.7 gears. N/A cars had 3.9 gears. Only the newer N/A cars have 4.11 gears.
  24. Those numbers are for the SRT-4, got em from car and driver. Hate to say it, but even with a turbo and 245hp, its still a FWD NEON. Now the 2004 ones come standard with LSDs, but all you have to do is turn up the boost a hair and the NEON is toast again!!! Which camp are you rooting for man?
