  1. Well plans changed the family (wife and brother-in-law) decided I am to smoke some piggy today so I wont be visiting till much later.. I gotta be tending the grill for a few hours (around 8-10). I know you wont mind since you will probably get some.
  2. Very nice! might have to come check out the between pics progress tomorrow...b4 mrs speepyhead wakes up.
  3. This actually looks like a thread that should be saved in USRM. I dont have an EA82 but the symptoms and solutions GD put up might save someone else a lot of time and money trying to track down the problem.
  4. I second that.. but will add money is for other stuff and projects when I have it.
  5. That's gonna sting a little.
  6. That just gives him a reason to go play with his power toys again.
  7. Oh yes the poor boy has a HUGE learning cuve on this project.. And I did not realize the harness went to all corners of the car. my poor mustang was pretty much all behind the intruments with one or two plugs throught the firewall. BTW Rob I have never removed the dash. I have been lucky enough to get around that fun task.
  8. Ok well I am not my boy is.. Anyone got ideas on the easiest way to do it, or a place to start that me simplify it. I will help him but the project is his. The only harness I have ever touched was in a 69 mustang that took like an hour. I am open to any and all suggestions. Mike
  9. Spell check would be nice. Did you mean wire harness?
  10. When I got my hatch from Mudrat 5-6 years ago he warned me that it probably would need rejetting. from the start of an onramp to the freeway it would just leave like none other but by the time I hit the freeway the bowl was empty( cough and sputter ) I got bad mileage but tons of power. I had it rejetted because I am a very basic mechanic ask turbone and QMan! Anyway rejetting solved a lot of my problems.
  11. I cannot help you but I can send you to Qman.. do a search for him. he is all about naturally aspirated (N/A) and it has served him well. he may not tell you everything but I am positive that he will at least help you get rolling. Mike
  12. I'm diggin it! too bad you cant just bolt in all the suspension goodies while we are at it..it would save a lot of time. R.G. Loved the hatch that thing launched like none other.. BTW what did you do to the fenders? use a roller? Really made the whole car look like a new design.
  13. Pretty sweet Russ. Glad this worked itself out quickly. :headbang:Good luck
  14. Those are some pretty cool pics Scott got any more? Mike
  15. Times up you've had em for a day get on with the pics Mike
  16. The GM alt kept up until I came to a stop (idle) at more than 1/2 volume then it dropped to 12 volts and occasionally went to 11 volts on a strong bass line... Its well worth it. Mike
  17. Are you going to lift it? or are you gonna keep it for street and dirt/mud fun? Mike
  18. This is what I was told. Is there a quick fix or should I look for a rebuild kit? I am open to ideas preferrably as inexpensive as possible since the car isn't for me.
  19. Define biggest system in a sube! Are you talking about money spent? A guy at WCSS4 had a whole Focal system running off Phoenix Gold TI amps. Or is it most power consumption? If thats your case you will need more than 2000 watts for your entire system . I found my SoundStream 10 were quite power hungry.
  20. It definately cleaned up nicely.. but I finally see what the rats nest looks like.
  21. Sweet but I wanna see your hatch tearing up some dirt track at the show..no wait I want a ride screw the pics!
  22. Jerry you sure know how to make a broke guy drool.. Mike
  23. I wonder how differently it would behave with one of these Not cheap but what the heck. http://performanceparts.com/part.php?partID=7010
  24. The cheapest way is o go one of the CarToys tent events where they do the Sound Off. It will yield the most accurate results. The second way is to buy one of these http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2103667&cp=&sr=1&origkw=decibel+meter&kw=decibel+meter&parentPage=search It works but it isn't real accurate. This one is middle of the road for accuracy but is probably the most expensive. but it also does a little more than measure SPL. http://mobileaudiocontrol.com/product.asp?Product_Id=14152&d_Id=5250&l1=5250&l2= Mike
