New Member saying hello
Welcome to the board!! Not just useful info though..There are a lot of future friends here. Especially if you are an outgoing type. Warning the board is addictive and you may experience withdrawls if you can't get on at least twice a day.. J/K Mike

First Stereo Install HELP!
Any local shop will have the adapter plugs(s) that you need to direct fit all the wires. they are around $10-15. I don't know if you need an adapter for the actuall deck install though.. Crutchfield will be able to tell you which speakers you need.. The new gen forum can tell you most of that and where the speaker are and how to get at them. If you have already picked out which deck and speakers you are going to get try one of these places if you wanna keep it lighter on the pocket book.. they have never done me or anyone I know wrong ever. 1) http://carmedia1.com/ 2) http://www.woofersetc.com/ 3) http://www.etronics.com/index.asp 4) http://audio-n-more.com/

Brakes
3 months ago I did the front brakes.. still need to do the rear (just can't seem to get the drums off.) Got em all bled out and was hunky dory. So wednesday I go to work and everything is cool.. I get back to the yard and jump in my car and the brake fluid light is on.. Hmmm start her up push the brake and nothing. I manage to limp it to the inlaws.. get em all bled again topped off the reservoir.. and the light is on again Friday (yesterday) afternoon again when I am trying to go home. Again I limp it to the inlaws house. This is very irritating but I suppose the master cylinder is just one more part I won't be replacing again for a while... At this rate I am gonna have a new car in about another two years.. LOL What is really kind of amusing is that I can get the part today but I have a wedding reception to go to so I won't even be able to touch the car till tomorrow. So all the snow I was gonna play in is going to be running down my back while I do the brake bleeding again. I am ot even frustrated and grouchy about this (whcih is really odd for me) Maybe it's the season! So anyway here's to all that read this may your season be maintenance free.

im liking my gm alternator
I have to agree that it was a good upgrade... I found two things that affect the voltage.. 12 volt heater( to defrost my windows ) It drops it down to 12 volts even. And when I really crank up the stereo.. though with this one I can watch the needle move with the beat it is almost amusing but neither drop it below 12 unless stopped with the turn signal on.

Interior MASTER

Since Ed and Corky do frequent those maybe dropping them a line would help you in your search since both are experienced.. Both are good guys and are usually willing to lend their collective knowledge.

I got my sub box built :)
Nice Job on the box. I you wanna learn more about the caraudio hobby ask me for a few links to forums.. The are a lot out there but there are only two I like to frequent. That would be cool!! The problem would be for me to decide wich sub(s) to use since I have a few different pairs laying around.

snow tires
Aside from mine being studded the wintermaster plus do double duty for little ud fun so that is anotherfactor for me... they gotta have deep lugs (well deep for street tires anyway)

WCSS8 Where will it be?
Thurston county was definately sweet.. Though I only have one other show to compare it to. With enough notice I can arrange to actually have some vacation time to go elsewhere.. Until then I am lilited to local events (within 100 miles ). Lots of good ideas keep em coming. The more ideas that get thrown out there the more work and options Ken and Eric have.. sorry guys but you shot yourselves in the foot being perfectionists. The shows would be a lot less fun if you weren't.

How come these pistons not look the same?
It is funny that they show the same part # for EA71 also.

snow tires
I use the Cooper weather mater plus but sadly they are discontinued.. luckily I still have another winter or two of tread life if I remove them in late Feb. What I don't like about them is that I got the 185/80/13s. I like the extra clearance and the overall look, but they feel a little unstable on coners.. So the next set of tires I get will be closer to stock.

WA-nnabe needs help (pics of the "RainbowRoo" incl)
South Prairie is about 10 miles east of Puyallup.. You will want the carbed version unless you have a turbo parts car handy.. I have seen what they look like under the hood and it ain't pretty.. and not particularly worth it for the small amount of power gained. for a fair upgrade that would put you even with an EA81 turbo putting a better cam in and maybe a weber carb would be money better spent and easier though it would probably void your warranty.. something to think on, after the warranty is up have at it.. but splitting the case and doing internals is an area I would like to learn more about but for now is beyond me.

This is where I would go for engines http://www.ccrengines.com/ .. There is shipping involved but They are people you can trust. As for help I have pulled and put back my engine a few times so I can give you a hand but I am no mechanic.

Hard starting issues with Weber?
Fuel filters are two months old and haven't solved the problem since I bought the car.. tried putting fuel in carb with no success. Coil has power and was replaced a few times with known to be good coils. spark plugs were replaced 15k miles ago. just replaced cap and rotor. and Qman did the last timing job on it.. granted that was two years ago but if it works you don't play with it.

Hard starting issues with Weber?
Well went to Qman's place last night and he played with the choke and set it according to his two weberized vehicles and needed to wait till morning to see what would happen.. Choke appears to be working properly now but there seems to be minimal or no gas.. hence it wont fire.. I would say the bowl isn't holding fuel but, as stated b4 it only does it when cold. May have to go knock on Qman's door once again.. In ther interim any ideas?
-
Hard starting issues with Weber?
It appears to be all hooked up but i wasn't the one to put it on. The choke works and is electric. I know it isn't the fuel pump sonce once started it will contimue to run but getting it started when cold is a PITA. I was told that the carb is not 32/36 other than that i really have no clue.. the carb came with the car.

Tacoma PAP
Has anyone been there lately? looking for a few odds and ends but don't necessarily wanna go if they dont have more at least 1 or 2 EA81s in the yard. The last time I went that was the problem.
