  1. ^ this. very solid for an all-terrain. I'm pretty sure no matter where you ask, anyone who has run them will sing praises about them. They are, however, pretty spendy.
  2. #1 stud = you.

    Engine-pulling pimp = you.

  3. I'm curious about the wiring of this just as much as the physical fitment. How are you managing that?
  4. +1 on the BFG ATs. They're build to take abuse and last forever. Very burly for an AT. I've seen them last 50k miles on a Toyota.
  5. Read these threads. The whole threads from start to finish. Most of what you're asking is in these posts. http://ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=69741 http://ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=114050 enjoy!
  6. start a thread in the "welcome center." There are some wise minds in the area. Just be patient and courteous. You'll find a lot of people are willing to help.
  7. Welcome to the boards. (local Spokane guy here) If you get one from pull 'n' save, you can pull the wiring harness (which you will need). It would be a good learning process for you. Plus, engines at PNS are cheap. The problem with this route is...you have no guarantee of any quality of the engine. Could have internal problems. They do have a 30 day return policy, but pulling/re-installing, etc. is a lot of trouble to go to.
  8. Should be freakishly light. Waaaay faster than the original Legacy that engine came in a banana for you, sir.
  9. I'm so glad to live in the West... you guys have it rough out there. Hell, you don't even have real mountains! Poor souls...
  10. Can't wait to see this... turbo bulging out of the hood? GNARLY
  11. A wise man said, "there are firearms...and then there are HKs." I can bring rifles and my other pistols, too. I've never shot a 92. We should trade guns and dump a few mags.
  12. Who has two thumbs and just picked up both a HK USP 9 and USP 45? ....... this guy.
  13. - NO TRANNY FOR YOU! hmm....you buy the engines....then trade me for 4.44 tranny/diff! - I like the 7 mile idea
  14. This brings a tear to my eye. The legend lives on... (good lord, I'm post-wh*ring, aren't I? oops)
  15. Translation: "thatswhatshesaid," don't bother showing up...
  16. Yeah...my Outback sucks at rallying, anyway. ha ha. BTW, I think I see your GL pretty regularly, Mugs (do you live in Browne's Addition, per chance?). I am jealous of it every time I lay eyes upon it.
  17. I can keep it in the powerband. Mine plows a bit unless i whip it hard. Then the tail stays out as far as I want for as long as I want. It's actually a super easy car to drive in low-traction situations (or maybe I'm just used to it after putting 80k miles on the car)
  18. should be on the road in the next 7 days or so...might not have the LSD in by then, though. BRAT = 27.4 lbs per HP (2000 lbs/73 hp) 3.90(?) final drive + low range 4WD Outback = 21.1 lbs per HP (3485 lbs/165 hp) 4.44 final drive auto AWD My weight balance and suspension geometry makes cornering easier/smoother, but your super low weight makes for some excellent flickability. I have wider all-seasons and big brakes all around, BUT it's a heavy fat pig.... You'll have all four turning the same speed. If you dump the clutch w/it in low range, you will probably destroy me off the line, but I think I'll dominate around the corners. We'll just have to see. It'll mostly come down to driver ability. Who wins in that department? I have no idea...
  19. wow. I didn't know that. Thanks for sharing. I'll avoid them for my cars in the future as well!
