  1. I spy KYB GR-2s on there Changed the oil on mine, should be good to go all winter.
  2. Gonna take Emily, my girlfriend out in this car tomorrow
  3. I didn't think you made a stab at anyone either, it is a fact, Subarus come to midwest/east coast to die, cause people give up on the rust and scrap them. That why we have to at least try to keep what we have
  4. Whoops! Yeah. SVX engine. Had the 3.0 on my mind (Fastest Subaru I've ever driven) lol.
  5. It just takes time and money to fix others errors, Amazing how a $500 car will clean up and feel like new with some time and love (Not to mention a Sh*t load of money over the years) Funny how the 2nd gen Legacy is now the $500 Subaru of the midwest. Can't wait till I can snag a Tribeca for that amount.
  6. These cars would not die if people weren't so ignorant and would take car of their vehicle(s) Vs. just drive them till they fail.
  7. Yeah, this is a professional grade decal. Once its stuck, it is not coming off.
  8. How would I know if one of my Cats are getting or is plugged? I have the strangest smelling exhaust, it burns your eyes and nose after a while, but it doesn't smell like fuel. Smells very corrosive (The best I can describe it) Can a plugged cat change the exhaust properties/smell? I also still have the P0420 (Cat efficiency bank 1) I have done the 02 Spacer on the rear sensor, and still get the code after time. So this is what makes me wonder if the cat is sh*t.
  9. Oh yeah, I remember talk about the Back pressure being caused by the cats. Thanks for the refresher! I'm very happy with the note of it right now, it almost has a V8 characterisic to it and its very growly when you stand on it, Its also very very quiet at idle, nice deep slow growl. But then again, my car idles at like 400rpm in park lol WTF? Maybe I won't be a muffler, maybe I'll just get the duel resonated pipe, and then do 2.25 from that fange to about where the heat shield is, then bump it up to 2.5 for the tail pipe. Ah, having an idea so close to winter, great! lol....
  10. At least I know I'm not alone. Will do, Trashwagon isn't going anyway, this thread is to huge to be "Removed" I guess an actual update would be, I am looking at getting '98-'99 Outback 2 piece Headlights (For the better reflector design) and then looking at getting a Duel Resonated Mid-pipe and possibly a muffler (Like the Impreza guys run) to finish it off. If I am correct, the Duel Resonated mid-pipe will increase rumble and depth (Make it more lumpy sounding?) I am also wondering if I am "Losing" power with not having a muffler on this, to little back pressure maybe? This is a fully stock exhaust with an UEL and no muffler, but instead a 12" 2.5 pipe in its place.
  11. 100% agree with JesZek, I was going to buy those bulbs before running HIDs.
  12. They have turned yellow from rust, if they have condensation in them all the time, this creates rust, which makes the chrome reflector peel away and chip off. Theres no way to fix that other then finding better headlight buckets. You could try Silver paint (It might let the light bounce off it more) Best thing to do if you have a seal leak is to, remove the headlamp assy, take the bulb out and blow into the bulb retainer (Creating a seal with your mouth) and see where the seal is leaking, then apply some clear RTV over the area (Thats how I have fixed them in the past with no re-occurring issues) also, use a hair-dryer to remove/evaporate all the moisture. As for my Housings, they are bone stock (Except they are in mint condition, inside and out) I did not install a Projector.
  13. Now, you could also spend $50, and 20min of your time on 6000K HIDs and end up with a result of this: Low-Beams
  14. What does that have to do with anything? Mine was also a $500 car, and look what it has turned into. Being a $500 car does not justify doing a hack job or being unwilling to spend a little money, when in fact you could have your $500 Subaru for the rest of your life. Anyway, those Harbor freight lights work well. I have a set ontop of the Legacy, I like them alot!
  15. The DL quad light swap is common enough, they are sealed beam glass units (Like you want) and the light output with the DL style is vastly improved. I think thats te way to go for cheep effectiveness. I have HIDs in my Loyale (They work awesome) others may say different.
  16. *Cough* Plastic? Where could you haver ever gotten a GL or Loyale with Plastic headlights? They are all glass (Unless your talking about a Legacy)
  17. Talk to "Barracuda"
  18. Yeah, thats true (Doh, Kinda forgot the cars gonna be warming up in winter) This might help warm that engine up quicker.... If not, we can always make
  19. With the Toyota, the Lights are always hot. So leaving them on is not an option. I never leave my lights on anyway (Why have more stuff run off the 12v during start up then needed?) But I have left then on while starting more then once, never had an issue with only on firing up, Sounds like a ballast issue to me. How are HIDs in winter? Does it take then longer to warm up and reach full brightness, or no? It takes about 10sec for mine to become fully bright.
  20. Nope, never had an issue with mine, but I know a fellow member with an '83 Brat had trouble. He called and got it worked out though
  21. Oh, it is two tone. Thought it was a shadow. New 170,000 MAF and seafoamed the hell outta TW10. Repainted everything under the Landcruiser too.
