+1 to that lol! But again, these EJ body cars don't rust out like the EA82s. When an EJ rusts, it'll be sh*t like doors, fenders and the like. But Ben, there might be an issue of this car not being a Turbo by the time you come pick it up *Cough* shall we say Trash-Turbowagon?

I have no problem looking it over, the only thing I could see being wrong with it could be HGs, but those would be easy enough to spot a fix or if they are bad. And as long as the trans shifts smooth and does't slip when I punch it going up a hill, we're in good shape. I would also talk this dude down a bit.

+1 to MilesFox, this rust is not nearly as bad as it could have been or have gotten, if I didn't address it now, it could have went south pretty quick.

1995 Subaru Legacy wants to over heat - WHY?
TheLoyale replied to jboymechanic's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXWe replaced both headgaskets with Fel-Pro which are AGAIN Genuine Fuji Gaskets as every Fel-pro kit I have seen. I am thinking the air is not burped out of this engine enough, as Jim's Forester had the same issue until I did it... Jon, maybe if you want I can come out and take a look at this thing Saturday. Fox offered to poke it with a stick, but was turned down, seeing as we were there we could have looked at it, but oh well. Also, fill the top hose first as I'm sure that was mentioned already. And again, this is why I should have just finished the install my self even if you had to go in and spend time with Heidi, it would have been done and you would have been driving it by now Let me know what you want to do...

Well, I dropped $50 on Scott's wheels, as I am not gonna let them get away as when am I gonna find 3rd gen 16" alloys again? These cars are too new to be in a junkyard.- My 1993 Loyale: Work In Progress
Thats why you should by a Puch moped! Awesome little things!- My '92 Loyale: Safariwagon
That SJR bumper has only been on there for the past 2 years lol.. As for it hitting the gate, no even close. If SJR makes it, its quality.- My '92 Loyale: Safariwagon
It was finally decent enough out today where I could finish up the rear of my car! I did put the heat sheild back up.- My '95 Legacy: Trashwagon10
Turns out I am not getting the wheels now, as the dude wanted to sell them to another guy.. Thanks Scott.- What Have You Done to your Soobie lately? (Please post in here and keep it going)

TheLoyale replied to SubaruJawn's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXThen drop the Phase-II EJ25 in there, change the timing belt and you'll be in ship-shape. Remember, the bellhousing bolt pattern on a Phase-II engine are different then the Phase-I IIRC. You are also going to need the ECU and its wiring harness.- SE WI, Milwaukee Regional/Subaru Alliance
Yes, its the same reason people buy a Harley or Mercedes. Whether or not Subaru still stands up to its name now days is beyond me, Having never really looked at the mechanics of a New Subaru I can't say. Are Flat-4s of today as easy to fix as they were in 2000? Dunno, they look moe dildoish to me, but they are starting to run Timing chain! Suprised GM didn't do that when they were part of them.- SE WI, Milwaukee Regional/Subaru Alliance
Kinda hard to be conpetative when you look like a Hyundai or a Lexus.- SE WI, Milwaukee Regional/Subaru Alliance

AE86 style!?- My New Ride
TheLoyale replied to SubaruJawn's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXYou would need the heads from a Phase-I EJ25 Out of a 96 Outback or 2.5GT. I'm sure there might be something I am over looking. Just stick with the OBD-I EJ22, toss on an ebay UEL header, removed the cats and go with 2.25" straight pipe all the way back. Add a 19" resonator right after where the 2nd cat used to be and and then stick your glasspack on at the end.- 86 3door Runabout:FWD<FT4WD, 4 lug<5lug, EA82 carb<EJ22 or ER27 swap, rust removal
Its a running/driving Fiat 1.5L.- My '95 Legacy: Trashwagon10
I'm going to be getting onto some 2000 16" Outback wheels by this weekend, the wheels come with Dunlop SP-60s- SE WI, Milwaukee Regional/Subaru Alliance
Thats lame lol. Vintage/classic status isn't given until the vehicle is 20 years old or something. Don Miller was probably shocked to see something older then an EJ series.- SE WI, Milwaukee Regional/Subaru Alliance
