Yea, I didn't think about the transfer case. Ok, forget I said that Lol.. Its a 2008 FJ, brand new only had 140miles on it back in fall '08, now it has almost 9,500. I too like the only FJ40s, I like the old Land Cruisers too (Safari style!) Yes they do make the new FJ in a 2WD version too, its the cheepest model you can get We speard no expence, 4WD-D/R. 8 speakers and a sub (Sounds great) My mom wanted that lol. Now they need to get some aggresive tires and a brushguard and they are set I will post a picture of it on here. Ok, time for pictures again! Something no one has ever seen my car do before: I had fun today, yes it might not be extrem, but I enjoyed it. Ooo heres a picture from last year: And heres the FJ, needs some BFG All-Terrains or MTs something better then these tires lol. its a 3.0 V6 and I think 5spd auto. Its just a rocket off the line and going down the road. it just slids right into the next gear. Insaine! A must test drive! -Tom

Connie, I totaly agree. The 3spd doesn't do the motor justice, If is dogish sometimes, but it works. right? Lol this tranny could use a passing gear, anyhoo. yea a 4EAT or a 5spd D/R would be nice. I wish they would have put the D/R in these 3ats (Why no?) guess it would have made it to expensive? I mean my parents '99 Blazer has hi-low and its an auto. and of corse the FJ has hi-low (Awesome truck!) Alright I need to stop carring on lol. Scott, wow you really want ot put a picture of my car on your site! Well go right ahead sir. If you want to wait till a little later today, I'm gonna go get some pictures of in on a road or in a feild or somethng lol. So if you'd like something like that better? What ever, doesn't bother me. -Tom
  3. Oh cool, I never looked at that on Rockauto! I did buy a stud from CarQuest friday . I'm happy they carrie them instock! Cause I was able to drive my car that friday Yay! Its never to late for new infomation -Tom

Connie, thank you. That would be a coo idea, I too like how the EA82 looks compaired to a 1st gen Lego. Aaa, somday I'll get a D/R (The auto is great for now) shifts like new and never hear or feel anything (Band slipage, no noting!) I dunno why people say the 3ats are crap, if you change and check the fluid I think they would last. plus don't abuse it. Anyhoo thanks again Ski, you will still need to trim the front a little (Just to be safe) The rear of the fender will have to be cut (If you turn full) the front might slip by with the lift. I would just cut it cleanly with an air cut off tool, like I did. and yes I was nervus when I first cut into the front fenders but it tuned out good. The rear fenders will not need to be cut (But then again my lip was rotted Lol) I only hammerd up the lip cause my rear tires were hitting on bumps (And still did, untill the lift) Now it doesn't hit at all! Yay. Hope this helps you, and hope you get the lift! -Tom
  5. These axles are for a EA82? well if they are for the '88 GL. I don't beleive the boots are replaceable (Unless you use a big hose clamp) Lol. but that wouldn't be the best idea. How big are the cracks? if they arn't to bad, I would start applying conditioners like (Mothers Back-to-black) this does soak into the rubber and makes it alot softer and restores the material. I use it on my wagon from time to time. Also good or rubber modlings, door seals, hoses, bumpers anything rubber/plastic. Best'o luck -Tom
  6. Oh, yes pretty much the same thing that it says on the can "Only time wil take it off your skin" I've been there alot Lol.. I wouldn't worry about how hot this stuff is, the metel ready and the marine clean doesn't burn either (Unless you get it in your eye) been there too. oh and don't breath in the fine mist when you spray the cleaners/metel ready (Burns like bleach in your lungs) and I have asthma, so it'll clear the crap out of ur lungs Lol! The Metel ready eatchs into the metel giving the POR something to bond to. -Tom
  7. I beleive the off-sets are the same. only pug wheel that maybe be diffrent is the steel 504 (The odd rim) Other then that I think they are all the same.
  8. TheLoyale replied to TheLoyale's topic in Off Road
the 2" SJR is the cheepest (Let alone making your own) that I've seen. -Tom PS: if you are thinking of lifting yours sometime, I would keep soaking all the bolts with Seafoam from time to time, so when you do want to remove them it will be alot easier (Its what I've been doing since I got the car in '06) I lube any bolts I can get to (Plus it keeps them from rusting more) Just an idea.
  9. Cool good luck! Cut? As is water down? Or remove the POR-15? (Maybe I'm slow Lol)
  10. TheLoyale replied to TheLoyale's topic in Off Road
Briggs, thank you too. Now all I need is a rear bumper with D-rings, trailer hitch cupler and spair tire swing arm! like what Scott makes, but would have a cutout/coved in area for the tail pipe. HTi was talking about changing the rear bumpers they make (With all that stuff on them) so it does have a area for the tail pipe, other wise you need to mod the pipe Oh yea, I also need another pug with round holes so I have a spare.
  11. Well, it didn't burn off when I heated the hell out of those rear strut bolts (3 times with a propane torch) I think its pretty much heat/fire resistent Good luck
  12. Well the fuel system on the EA82/Loyale is not vaccum. Meaning it can run with out the gas cap. some vehicles now days have that, if the cap is not on the system can not build pressure and will not run. But if you listen when you take the cap off after you've been driving, you will hear a vaccum suck (Like opening a soda bottle) so that would mean theres some pressure in the system, and from what I remember seeing on my stock subaru cap, there are no vents. so I would say (Vaccum) is your choice. Not 100% but pretty sure -Tom
  13. It can take some rubbing ect.. but it will still come off with you hitting rocks and crap lol. Good stuff though! also to help protect the POR-15. I sprayed gloss black paint over it (Just for more protection Hehe) -Tom:)

Lol, SO now I have to come to IA next year hmm? it was $300 with shipping, whats funny is the shipping cost was $9 (said on box) but it says on SJR.com that $20 will be needed for shipping :-\ Lol but I don't care, just something I noticed. -Tom

Thank you all! Rob, yea like Jeff said I need a D/R 5spd (its a 3spd now) that would rock though! Diablo, Oh do I wish.. I don't know where I can get some action shots, I would like to go trail riding with other Soob people but their arn't many in WI Bill, Yea I was suppried when I first got the new wheels. and now it just looks more proportioned, plus the rear wheels don't hit anymore! Hope you get the Beast going again soon! Jeff, yes +1 indeed! The car does have some small dents (Dings, I guess) But thank you Flyboy, I used POR-15 on the rear wheel wells. I cleaned them down to almost bare metel and then applied it (Seems to work) I need to finish the entire underside and the front wells someday. I also need paint for my front fenders (Again) its been flaking off Brian, Thank you. yes I feel more confident now. Its not that I wasn't, its just I never did this before and ya know lol. I mean I did t-belts/oil pump/cam seals a year ago. So I have confidence, I'm just happy no bolts broke doing the lift, the real scare was the rear bolts (They screw into a block welded onto the well) if the bolts break them I'm, well you know. Again thanks for all the comments, Its awesome driving a lifted Subaru. a car full of kids were talking to me tonight at Wally world. One asked if I had a lift Lol (I said yea, 2") he said cool.. And damn, everyone I drive past look at me But its fun -Tom

Alrightyroo!! Here are pictures! you ask for them you got them, I can't stop posting pics lol.. Front Lift: Front with blocks inplace. Back on the ground! OK rear lift: I turned the entire shock around, not just the top bracket (Didn't want to touch the bolt on top of the shock. Plates inplace, but loose. And now for the whole car! 12" under rear diff. There, Sorry I didn't get better pictures. I'll go on a B-class road soon and take some picutres. I'm really happy I got it all done, Thanks to the people on here and my Dad for holding and pushing when needed! -Tom

Looks cool. Ooo D-rings!! btw, that red/maroon wagon looks like Jeff's? Alrighty, I'll get going a get som pictures upload and posted. give me a few hours Lol. -Tom
  18. Yes, Red and Black work well! No I think holloweeny would be orange and black Lol. Kylon will stick to metel and be durable enough? I would at least use Rustolium. and for the gloss, hell get thier Clear coat as well (All cheep and at wal-mart) The clear will help protect the paint from rocks ect.. Best'o luck. -Tom

  21. TheLoyale replied to TheLoyale's topic in Off Road
Lol thats cool! I would upload them tonight, but I'm beat (Got up at 9am) I am not really a morning person (Unless I stay up Hehe) I've been wenchin' on the since 11am till 3pm. and I took it to work!! Been riving a '99 Blazer for the past week. Its not bad, but its not a Subaru. I like pulling up/parking next to Civics and such Haha! I even make some SUVs look low. I have exactly 12" under the rear diff now (have picture to prove it) I dunno what the center or front is (Most likly more) Anyhoo I have a life like we all do, and its six letters *Subaru* -Tom
  22. Hmm, I don't remember lol. The last time they were connected was in 2006. So I don't know Lol.

Well it took a week, but today I just finished the rear and now the lift is complete, I am sooo happy! Looks good, my rear wheels don't hit anymore and alot of people look now Lol! It also rides a bit better, it floats over the smaller bumps/cracks now (I think the lift brackets are taking more of the impact before it reachs the subframe/strut towers) So very nice indeed! I will post up the picture sometime tomorrow, I have some of during the build and after. I have to get out on a dead road and take some good pictures. Cheers, -Tom
  24. Don't beleive so, the clicking comes from the engine bay. $0.02 -Tom
