Backwoodsboy's BRAT lift thread! ****W/PICS!****

It looks like there is a bend in there too:clap: I am making the center console in the brat out of diamond plate, I just love that stuff! I will post some pics when I am done. -
When you buy your new gasket make sure you get one that doesn't require that you transfer the old chromes. Unless the chrome strips are in good condition and you have a lot of patience it is not worth the time, I have seen many experienced auto glass techs spend an hour or more putting them back in. Also when setting the windshield, first run a rope in the groove around the gasket this way you can pull the lip from the inside. Black silicone works best for sealing and I would buy it from an auto glass shop, the stuff from Lowes and Home Depot is terrible. The tool pictured below is absolutely indispensable. Good Luck

Hey Guys, Below is a link to a picture of my newly acquired EJ22. I am cleaning while I collect parts for my transplant. Does anybody know an easy way to remove the oxidation on the aluminum? Also the engine sat for about a year before I pulled it. I bought from a friend who assured me it was a strong running engine before it was parked. What should I check and or replace while it is out of the car. Thanks for any help http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=4894&stc=1&d=1179192439

I like the diamond plate wind deflector! Did you make that? -
That's encouraging. Four hours with two people, not to bad. I'm sure when I get it rolling I'll have a few questions. I still have a few parts to collect. I'll try to get some pictures of any snags I run into. Thanks

I have my EJ22 sitting in my garage. I keep looking at that rats nest of wiring and finding somwthing else to do. Is there much difference between the 92 and 90? The write up has been a great help thanks for taking the time.

Looking for little of everything - nothing specific right now. Would like to find a rebuildable ea81 so I can work on at my leisure and still have a car. ended up ordering tranny mounts from Subaru today, they were the only ones that could order them. Thanks for the links - much appreciated -
Thanks! The Holley is much cheaper. I liked your mod but I would like to eliminate all computers they scare me.

It seems that I ran across a website that showed how to build the adapter plate and listed likely models that would have them. But for the life of me I can't find it again. I don't remember if it said that they were stock or if it was a popular mod. Thanks for the help

Hello everyone! I am new the the group. I was wondering if anyone out there knows what vehicles came stock with 32/36 Weber. This would help greatly with my junkyard searching.
