  1. There will be major issues, not a good choice for a swap. 2000 2.2 is a phase 2 engine I think, 99 legacy is phase 1, lots of differences if so. I don't think the trans will work either, not sure on that, they might have different final drive and wiring.
  2. I would cut both sides flush with a sawzall, then drill just deep enough on both sides to pull it out.
  3. I'm 6'2" and in my 02 wrx, I drive with seat 2 or 3 clicks forward from all the way back and have plenty of room. I can't even push the clutch all the way in with the seat all the way back.
  4. If it's running well it should get over 30 on the highway. I can get low 30's with my wrx if I stay out of boost on a long trip. Around town it's not so good.
  5. Could go either way, rental fleet cars usually have good maintence, but it could have been beaten on by somebody who rented it. My Mom has a former rental car and has never had a problem. It's not a Subie though.
  6. I had a good time. It was nice to meet everyone. Sorry I couldn't stay longer.
  7. Sunny in the morning is what I saw. Rain in the afternoon wouldn't be so bad. I have to get home by 5 anyway.
  8. I bailed out on going today. It's been pouring rain here all day. I'm going in the morning even if it's still raining, but the weather is calling for sunny and almost 70. I just washed the 360, going to wax it later.
  9. 99% sure it will work. They are both the same ratio. I don't know of any differences.
  10. Subies are fairly popular here in PA. We go to Maine a lot and it seems like 1 of every 10 cars are subies, very popular there. We've bought a few off craigslist in Maine cheap and brought them back home.
  11. If you buy the cheap walmart store brand silver spray paint, it is a match to subaru wheel silver.
  12. I subscribed a while ago, the first issue was good. I've been a member of the website for a while also.
  13. 58 was the first year for the 360. It came to the US in 68-70. I'm bringing mine to Carlisle if you're going.
  14. It has one. If it's the original it will be a big black plastic plate behind the flywheel. The updated one is metal. If you need the updated metal one, just ask at any subie dealer, they will know what it is and probably have it in stock.
  15. The one on ebay probably went for more than it was worth. The orange one belongs to a guy from the subaru 360 club, I just sold him a part. I personally know of some that have run over 100,000 miles on the engine. Mine has 20,000 on it now runs great. I've got it up to just about 70 mph or so.
  16. You have to pull the front axles to drop the trans. Easiest way is to mark the strut bolts and pull them, some people undo the ball joint.
  17. I have an 02 WRX, same thing except the engine. It's a great car. Honestly the best car I've ever owned. BTW the clocks don't need to be replaced, they just break a solder joint. Pop it out disassemble and it will be obvious. Re-solder it and they work fine, easy fix.
  18. I was thinking about leaving around 1 on friday, should get there around 2:30 or so.
  19. I'm looking forward to this. How early are people getting there on friday? I'm thinking of maybe going for a while friday with the WRX then coming back for the day on Saturday with the 360, I'll probably trailer the 360 out, it's all highway there, the 360 doesn't like highways much. BTW, if anyone is coming in a car that is questionable about making the trip, pm me and get my cell number. I have a truck and trailer, so if you break down, I can bail you out.
  20. I like to pull the engine. It's easier for me. But I don't have a lift. I leave the accessories (ps/ac/alt) connected, unbolt the brackets from the block and swing them out of the way, drain coolant, pull radiator, unplug 3 wires, a few hoses, unbolt the exhaust at the heads, unbolt motor mounts and engine to trans bolts and it's out.
  21. The difference is single port heads vs. dual port heads. 96 up 2.2's are single port. Older 2.2's and all 2.5's are dual port. The turbo headers are totally different and won't work on a non-turbo.
  22. The 95-99's legacys the converter isn't part of the y pipe. I think it is on the older ones.
