  1. Just want to confirm something.....someone told me that the 2.2's didnt have the headgasket failures like the 2.5's.....is this true?
  2. wailing on it and cooking it with a torch....just make sure you dont damage the wheel bearings or seals.......

Well i have been reading some posts on here about how the white connectors are for the front 2 cylinders and the black/gray connectors are for the rear two cylinders....also i was browsing over a wiring diagram and just shot a look at the wire colors......im so thankful that it wasnt an internal engine problem....the car does have 185,000 miles on it....
  4. no i have a ton of oil leaks but thats just a subaru for you....no its not burning oil....i noticed that the cyl 2 and cyl 4 Fuel Injector plugs were swapped...i swapped them back and now it seems as though everything is fine....i let it idle for about 30 minutes and no codes and i didnt hear the miss at all.....all good for now!
  5. Is it possible that if the injector connectors were swapped say from cyl. 2 to cyl. 4 that i would only have a missfire in cyl. 2?

  8. Hey guys.....I have a 1996 Legacy Sedan EJ22 and was wondering if it is at all possible for a clogged PCV valve to cause a misfire.....it doesnt seem like it would at all but i thought i would just check anyway.....

  11. very true.....my timing belt slipped a few months back....and i thought my engine was done.....than i saw i had a 2.2...THANK GOD!....yes the 2.2 Liters are non interference and the SOHC 2.5 Liters are (the valves hit the piston) and the DOHC 2.5 Liters are (the valves hit the valves)....

I believe they are from what im told.....i just bought the car like 10K miles ago.....but ive already done the clutch and flywheel, and the timing belt......but it will be a great learning experience........do you know wheather it is easier to do the head gaskets with the engine in the car or out?....the left front one looks pretty difficult unless you remove the engine.....

  17. unfortunatly i have reason to believe that my head gaskets are on there way out for the second time.......i have a 1996 legacy 2.2 L. 185,000 miles. Does anyone know where i can get a set of inexpensive cylinder heads....already built (with cams,valves,retainers,etc...). Any help would be appreciated
  18. Hello all.....just a quick question....I have a 1996 2.2 L Subaru Legacy.....I would just like to know if i can just take a fuel injector out of any other 2.2 L and it would work?
