Pics From NW Washington Offroad / Offroo'd Mid summer Meet
Had a blast this weekend! Some great wheelin, allthough a little rain would have been nice. I'm still blowing dust out of my nose. It was great to see everyone and meet some new people. Brian and I even did some volunteer trail work with DNR on saturday. It was great. Here's some pics, my vids didn't load to my computer, so I'll have to try again. Pat's mysterious clunking noise Scott's wicked contraption. I wish we could've seen this in action! Here's a link to more http://s444.photobucket.com/albums/qq170/jbbvw/Walker%20Meet%20July%202010/

Some vids from Tahuya June 5
Yeah I went through the first water hole where that picture is, but I didn't feel like going swimming like the guy that had his bronco stuck in the second one so I decided not to try that one.

That thing looks freakin sweet Jeff!!! Great job! I think your sawsall is feeling left out though. To bad I don't live closer, I would,ve loved to help with this build. Can't wait to see it in person! Keep up the good work. Jesse- EA81 oil pump ?
I thought it might be EA71. I already scraped the block I got my pistons out of though so I couldn't compare. The people I dealt with didn't seam to know anything about older subarus. I'm not very happy with this dealer and will definitely use a different one next time I need something. Thanks for the info, hopefully it will help me get the right pump this time. Jesse- EA81 oil pump ?
So after putting it off for five months, I finally started assembling my EA81 (w/ delta cam and 10:1 comp) a couple weeks ago. I ordered a new oil pump from the dealer ($105) since I couldn't find one anywhere else and waited almost three weeks for them to get it only to find out when I went to install it today that it's not the right one! So while I'm waiting till monday to return it I thought I'd see if anyone knows what engine this pump goes to. Thanks, Jesse New pump on right- NWWO Pics Jan 30th 2010
Looks like a fun time and some good mud. I wish I would've had the extra time to come join you. Maybe next time. Jesse- Let's see your LIFTED Soob off roader 2010 edition.
'81 GL Wagon 4" lift 5 speed D/R Stock EA81 w/ Weber/snorkle, custom y-pipe to 2 1/4" exaust (new engine in the works w/ delta cam and 10:1 compression) EA82 front control arms, knuckles, axles VW Baja rear coilovers Welded rear diff w/hybrid axles 27-9.50-14 SSR Swampers on 504 Pugs Trimmed/ reworked wheel wells Tube bumpers w/ skidplate Fog lights in grill Yakima roof basket with custom mount- What part of the front suspension kills travel?
It really only affects the axles at full turn. Mine have held up pretty well. I don't know how much more stress the 2" lift will put on them. For me the tire clearance and better approach angle was worth the risk. Jesse- What part of the front suspension kills travel?
I put EA82 front suspension on my 4" lifted 81 wagon. I used the axles, knuckles/brakes, control arms and outer tie rods. I extended the EA81 inner tie rods 1" and extended radius rods 2". I'm still using the adjustable EA81 struts. This set up moves the tires forward 2" and out about 1 1/2" on each side, but the struts still limit travel. I've been wanting to try some different struts with more travel and move the top mounts forward so they're not leaning back so much. I've been very happy with this setup otherwise. Camber is not to bad. I'm pretty sure FWD suspension would work. Jesse- Finally some pics of my new 86 gl!!
Maybe half a day I guess. If you want to do this, get your lift on and get some tires mounted on your wheels, then we can plan a time to make them fit. Jesse- Let's see your snorkels
I know this water is not all that deep, but here's a pic and some vids. I have been in deeper though. I havn't sealed my disty so it does start to bog a little when I get to deep. http://s444.photobucket.com/albums/qq170/jbbvw/Tahuya%2009/?action=view¤t=May2009402.flv http://s444.photobucket.com/albums/qq170/jbbvw/Tahuya%20snow%2012-27-08/?action=view¤t=6bcc8fe3.flv http://s444.photobucket.com/albums/qq170/jbbvw/Tahuya%20snow%2012-27-08/?action=view¤t=95d5892d.flv- Finally some pics of my new 86 gl!!
If you do consider this option, I could help with the trimming and keep it looking decent. I'm pretty good at working metal (bodyman 8yrs). I trimmed/reshaped my wheel wells quite a bit, while still keeping it some what factory looking with no exposed cut edges. Just a thought. Jesse- Finally some pics of my new 86 gl!!
I think One Eye might have something to say about that.- How heavy are is your Wheel and tire together?
My 27-9.50-14 SSR Swampers on steel pugs weigh 56 pounds each. I stand in the back door to load/unload my spare. If you get good quality tires you probably won't need to access your spare much. I've been running my swampers for almost two years and have never needed my spare. I just rotate it in with the others. Jesse- Let's see your snorkels
2" ABS, 2 1/4" flex hose to modifiied mid 80s S10 4cyl air cleaner on a weber. Works awesome! I've had water up to the windshield several times.- Subaru Meet in the Seattle area?
Had a good time today. It was nice seeing/meeting everyone. Here's some pics I loved seeing the EA81s together! I wish I left my Swampers on though, my car looks so wimpy with the street tires.:-\- snow fun in the legacy
Looks like a beautiful day to play in the snow! Jesse - Some vids from Tahuya June 5
