Subaru Meet in the Seattle area?
I'm in. Sounds like fun! Does anyone happen to have a gen-2 windshield for sale? Jesse

EJ with dual single Weber Carbs and Disty
That's awesome Scott. Can't wait to see how this works. Those ICTs can be hard to get working good if they are worn though. I love the DRLAs I have on my Bug and my Baja, they work great. I've always wanted to put some IDFs or DRLAs on a Subaru. Keep up the good work Scott. Jesse

New Prospect W/ PICS
He broke out the left one when he slid into some mailboxes. I gave him and installed the replacement. The right one is still mostly painted.

New Prospect W/ PICS
That's my brother Brians old car. He sold it about 8 months ago and regrets it everyday. It's got the same lift as my wagon. It had a D/R 4 speed and a high mile engine, but still ran pretty good last time I saw it. I think it had a hollow converter and 2" exaust with a small glass pack-very loud. I inquired about it to see if it was his when I first saw it on craigslist and they said they had a windshield for it. Do they not have a good windshield? It was wheeled hard and I helped repair it many times. I,d love to see it back on the trails. Let me know if get it and need any help working on it. I've been tempted to buy it, but I have to many cars/projects already. Jesse

Annual Hatch Patrol Xmas Tree run
I think I'll bring some chips and snacks and maybe something in a crockpot if I get to it. Sorry to hear about those who can't make it, but looking forward to seeing/meeting those who can. Hopefully we'll get some fresh powder to play in! Jesse

Public Service Bulletin regarding EA81 lifts and front axles
This is what I did on the front of my '81 wagen with 4" lift all around. I extended the radius rods 2", the inner tie rods 1" and used ea82 outer tie rods to make everything work. I'm currently running ea81 struts, but have thought about going ea82 or something with more travel. When I mocked up the front strut with no spring with front suspension fully compressed the DOJ was just bottomed out. So I'm sure 1-2" more lift wouldn't hurt it. The ea82 axles do seem to last longer if they're not allready worn out. This setup really helped tire clearance with my 27-9.50 SSRs after trimming about 3" off the front of the fender, but nothing off the rear. Notice my camber angle.

I had a f***ing blast! Thanks John for the coffee bag. It held up great for the 100 plus mile drive home. Here's some more pics. Here's a link to the rest of my pics. http://s444.photobucket.com/albums/qq170/jbbvw/Walker%20Valley%20Oct%2009/

Walker Pics!!! Biggest meet for Walker EVER!!!!
The teal '81 wagon is mine. The air cleaner is off of a mid 80s S10, modified to fit the weber, with the intake snout seriously shortened. The flex hose is 2 1/2" defrost hose to 2" ABS.

Nov. 7th NWWO Walker run
That sucks. I was going to make plans for this run. I really want to check out Rieter. How about Tahuya instead? That's my usual wheeling spot, so I know the trails if no one else does, and all this rain will make for some nice wheelin there. Anyone interested? Jesse

Reiter Pit run????
So is anyone still planing on going?

EA81 transplant into a '59 Beetle
That's freakin awesome! As a VW guy myself, I'm always interested in VW/Subaru combos. I would love to see more pics and info on this, especially the dual carb/intake setup. Jesse

The Evans Creek Meet
It worked great too. That's how I went down the 311 trail. By the time we got to the bottom though, the rubber bushing pushed through the top and ended up like this, it rattled like crazy all the way home. This is my more permanent fix with a new/used top mount. (thanks Jeff) I've been running this fix on the other side with a torn mount for almost a year now with no problems. Good times. Jesse

The Evans Creek Meet
So I know I'm really late getting these up, and they're not much different than everyone else's, but here's my pics/vids from EC. Again, I had a blast! I'm looking forward to the next time. click here for pics/vids

I'll be there friday and saturday for sure, but not sure yet what time on friday and don't know about sunday. Hopefully I'll have the engine I'm currently building together in time, if not I'll be running my spare thats in my car now. I'm excited to meet and go wheeling with some more offroad subaru guys. Can't wait! Jesse

I just acquired a parts vehicle for another project, so that's another distraction. Hopefully I will contact you soon about my engine though. Brian's been in and out of jail and???.

Hatch Patrol/NW Washington Offroad Group/Older School Meet
I just found this thread, and I'm definitely going to make plans for this! I think I'm gunna have to start my engine build very soon so I can have more power for this trip. Last time at EC my weak engine struggled on the steep hills. I may be contacting Ken soon on this, if I can get some other projects finished that have been keeping me busy. I won't be making WCSS though, because I've got plans/reservations for Tahuya that weekend.

not sure how to create a poll but do you use your Hiil Holder
My first Subie (82 wagon) had one, and it was nice on the street, but I learned to hate it when offroading because I got stuck on a steep hill with no place to turn around and had to slowly back down. I would start to back up and then try to coast a little but as soon as I pushed the clutch in the hill holder would stop the car. It was extremely frustrating on a narrow trail that was probably a 1/4 mile or so long. I suppose with some practice I might have figured out how to use it in this type of situation, but my current wagon doesn't have one, I just use my e-brake if needed.

Off road vids.......ok, I'll start
I finally got some videos set up to post, so here's a couple at Tahuya in Dec '08. This was a good test for my snorkle. Enjoy! http://s444.photobucket.com/albums/qq170/jbbvw/?action=view¤t=6bcc8fe3.flv http://s444.photobucket.com/albums/qq170/jbbvw/?action=view¤t=95d5892d.flv

Eric's trail wagon build, 56K b/w!
You may want to reconsider those wheels if you already have them. Here's my 27-9.50-14 swampers on 5" pugs. They are a tight fit but work great and I'm not worried about popping/damaging a bead.
