If my car does well in the snow, then a WRX would do just as well in my oppinion. Similar size and ground clearence. I was at a top of a hill (great place for a stop sight) last winter, with old tires, and 10 inches of snow on the ground. I spun for a little bit but I made it. So this year I got Good year Eagle RS-As, a brand new tread design and boy are they wonderful. $115 a piece, all season tires. The car does so much better in any weather and this car can now go anywhere....however I worry about the idiots around who dont have new tires so I try and avoid most winter driving.

My mom actually got a letter about that in '01 about her '99 RX300. She was pissed, but didnt speak up. However, apparently others did and Lexus sent another letter saying that they would take care of it if it happens and that they didnt mean to be jerks. She never developed an oil gelling problem, but she did have a nasty oil leak. She called Lexus and complained and they agreed to pay for half. Can you believe it? I am still way impressed, seeing as how SOA told me to screw myself when I complained about my speedo being deffective and that I knew that I wasnt the only one. While I understand youre paying more for a Lexus, their treament ensure return buyers, and SOAs treatment has convinced me that another brand might be better for my next vehicle. This after being a Subaru loyalist and owning multiple Ru's at a time.

Thats not true. The GT gained popularity seeing as how they were more than just wheels. There was this thing called the 2.5L engine that debuted in 1996 and had considerable hp and torque over the 2.2L in your standard Legacy. I have leather seats, steering wheel & shift knob, fake wood grain, cd changer, hood scoop, painted skirts, moonroof, etc. Not available in your Legacy L or LS. The 3rd generation GTs did not sell well, becaue they did not offer much that your base Legacy didnt have already have. Should have offered multiple engine choices on that one.

Just read about the Nissan Altima Hybrid in Road & Track. Toyota technology. 2.5L = 158, hybrid = 40 hp. So I guess you add those to together for net power, 198 hp. 0 - 60 in 6.8 seconds and 41 city, 36 hwy. Weight is up a bit, 3540 lbs. Price, less than the MSRP on my LGT, $26,000. Not bad. And that is nicely equipped. (ABS, 16 in alloys, dual climate control)

You realize that when I posted that 2 years ago, there was no such thing as SI drive. Youre right SOA sales are at a new record, but saying my generation didnt sell well? You are misinformed. How do you think Subaru got to where they are in America? I see BD/BGs all the time. I know two people at work who both have '96 Legacy L's. The sales influx began with the introduction of the Outback. And why wouldnt I be there target market? My Subaru is 8 years old and I m gonna have to get a new one eventually. I think they want to sell me another. Oh wait, they already did. Im still waiting on an Impreza TPH.
