Do you use primer? And does it just roll on?

Im looking to spray paint my wagon an army flat green, Im going to sand,primer, and paint, but i cant find a flat green paint! only primer. So was wondering what brand of paint has the best selection and durability. Looked into CARC but it's way to complicated for my painting skills lol.

I just bought a pair of lights for my front bumper,thanks for posting this thread=) Has anyone put lights on the wagon front cargo bar, are they strong enough and far enough forward?

I use 89 octane fuel, thats low grade where i live.

The motor only has 127k on it, the oil pump is working great, 14 at idle, middle when warmed up and going. The oil is only 2k miles old, but the sparks plugs do need changed, i get paid today so im getting some plugs, belts, fuel filter and ill replace the oil just to get a baseline. Im sure its not a CV. hope that helps a lil more=)

I called my local wrecking yard in wenatchee,wa for a 5-speed d/r tranny, He didnt have one in stock but could order one for $500, is that reasonable?(sounds a lil steep). Was wondering if anyone knew a good place for those around central washington and the skagit valley area.

I bought my wagon with a non-functional auto tranny, with the help of my next door neighboor (a subaru guru) we had it in and out in no time, it's fairly easy, you will want an engine hoist(or makeshift one out of a sturdy board and ratchet strap) and a jackstand, and a set of basic tool's. And there are plenty of people willing to give you info on this process, keep that awesome wagon.

My ea82 spfi motor is tapping when going up hill's, at first i figured it was the valves (they used to tap at idle due to a fram filter >.< ) when i replaced the filter the idle tapped stoped a lil bit after, but when driving there is a loud repetive tap, i hope its not a rod, any suggestions? Forgot to mention it only does it on up-hill driving.

So me and a buddy decided to go mobbin up #2 canyon in the wenatchee valley, He drives a mazda b2600 4x4 5-speed, i drive a 88 gl automatic push button. In crawling he always beats me(But the subie still does well), today was different, we were EVEN in snow hill climbs lol. I was soo proud of my subie=)

I want that car sooo bad, if i ever find one for sell in town im buying it!

even in my 3AT single range 4x4 88' gl, I still do stuff that I thought i provably couldnt do. So when i get the money and time im gonna go over to spokane and pull me one out of the wrecking yard for like $100, need the clutch assemb too,anything else i need to remember to grab?

How much of a difference does this mod make?

I know the 5-speed d/r is far the better choice, but is there anything wrong with puttin a lift and big tires on a push-button 5-speed?

Yea,ill take a longer look at it, it's cold as hell outside so i didnt want to play around with it too much=)

So i get most the bolts off my passenger side fender to take a look at the snorkle, but theres two damn bolts right behind the light that no tool i own can get to and get leverage on!! Do i really have to take the front bumper off too?

Yea, im beggin for a lift lol. my only hurdle is the 3AT tranny, i was told bigger tires and 4'' lift would burn my tranny up in no time, but would a 2'' lift and 14'' pugs do any damage? And skid plates would be sick too.
