  1. Left foot braking on extremely icy roads is fun, untill you almost die...twice.
  2. Yea, im beggin for a lift lol. my only hurdle is the 3AT tranny, i was told bigger tires and 4'' lift would burn my tranny up in no time, but would a 2'' lift and 14'' pugs do any damage? And skid plates would be sick too.
  3. Hello, im kinda new here, and in my first post i said i would post pic's of my subie! she's an 88' GL wagon 4x4 SPFI, I've thrown a few ideas on the drawing board, i want to paint her a flat army tough lookin paint job, get light bars and lights up the arse, skid plates as well, and possibly 14'' pug's and a 2'' lift, my only hurdle is it's a 3AT tranny, i dont have the down time to do a 5 speed d/r swap (my daily driver). Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated to make this a project/daily driver=)
  4. Last night after a good session of snow mobbin my buddy's 75' f-100 (lifted about 9 inches) roder u-joint broke, whole wheel assemb crumpled under it, the 35 inch tire was laying down.
  5. So im kinda new here and a few posts back i said i would post a few pics of my baby. Im going to paint it an army green, have lights up the arse, and a nice light brush guard/light bar. Along with a few other mod's, feel free to give me any cool ideas to make this car a good project/daily driver=) only dent in the car
  6. Anyone know what fuse i need to pull to get my doors to stop pinging when they are open? And is fuse also for a critical system, so you MUST keep the fuse in lol. (88' gl wagon)
  7. Lol yea, i did some mobbin in my stock 88' wagon, got all the way up horse lake grade with about 9 inches of snow, and made it through spots of snow up to my doors, it was a blast! only got stuck once too lol.
  8. I Would use a drill powered cylinder hone, but remember to lube with wd-40.
  9. Pyro926, ive seen you're car around town, it's a beast. And "The beast i drive" what exhaust set-up do you have on you're wagon, looks beefy lol.
  10. So i have an 88' GL SPFI 4wd wagon (automatic unfortunately) but i want to make it a mobbin machine, i took a look at the 4'' sjr lift and i want to do a nissan 6 lug swap. But before i do anything will my 1800 put out enough power to turn those wheels up a mountain? They are torque'y lil things.
  11. Yea dude, i have those same tires on my artic cat! They work very well, they dig a mean whole in snow tho( Reversing the tread direction helps alot)
  12. Just wanted to know if anyone has installed a B&M or hurst ratchet shifter in their subie wagons (Automatic of course).=) If so how would you wire the push button 4wd?
  13. Thanks for the replies, i forgot to mention this is my daily driver lol. My main goal for this car is to really just to have fun in the woods on the weekends doing rally type stuff, not really participate in rally event's (would love to if i got a hold of a impreza/legacy sedan or sumthin). The air box mod sounds sweet, ill give it a look at.=) And Ill post some pics within the weekend. thx
  14. Hello USMB, Im new to the Forum, I am a proud owner of a great condition 88' GL 4wd wagon. I aspire for this car to look and preform like an amature rally car. Here are some ideas I plan for: -Flat black (or camo green) paint -Sti style hood scoop -Cold air intake -yellow subaru rally decals -6 lug conversion -Front and rear steel bumbers w/ off-road hella 500's I am fairly good at mechanican, plus i live next door to a subaru guru! Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated to help this car be a beast on dirt roads (Budget is limited). It's great to be apart of the USMB and i will be talkin to yall soon.=)
