  1. On my wagon, there were factory pre-drilled holes already in the metal reinforcement on the underside the bumper. I just crawled under the car, drilled through the plastic and was good to go. The cool thing was, I didn't have to measure to make sure the lights were evenly spaced.
  2. i googled reiter pit and found this http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=92938 apparently there a a meth lab or two in that area. but whatever
  3. I would like to tag along, but would my wagon make it? It's a stock 5 speed D/R with 26" tires.
  4. My 85 GL with 5 speed D/R tranny on drilled 14" rims from a Dodge D50 26" Kelly Wintermark tyres roof rack with off road lights Waiting for: 2 inch lift custom bumpers 14" Pugs (hopefully)
  5. I have no idea what im looking at. What do the numbers mean?
  6. I was curious what the gear reduction was for a Dual Range 5 speed transmission. If someone could fill me in that would be awesome.
  7. so now i have to drain the gas tank?? and the additives were mixed into 7/8ths of a tank of gas and now that im thinking about it this car has a lot of problems The radiator reservoir has overflowed twice in 3 days the fuel mixture was rich there is a vacuum leak in the carb which i jerryrigged by upping the idle control
  8. I wish that were the case, cause then i would have a 400 horsepower wagon
  9. The gas tank currently has a can of seafoam and stp carb cleaner i got at napa, and i ran about 50 miles with that in the tank before these issues started.
  10. Whats a good way to get that tested?
  11. I just went out an tried to start it. The engine turns over, but it wont catch.
  12. A guy I met at the NAPA in Burlington WA gave me a 7A coil a while back, so i switched em out. I can't remember what i did with the old one though, so I only have the one in the car. What is a good way to test the one I have?
  13. I need to rebuild the carb on my EA82. Where can i find the Hitachi model number so i know what kit to buy?
  14. My 85 GL did the same thing. What happened was the plug of the coil wire on the distributor side had slid into the boot. the spark was arcing the gap and after a while the boot slide far enough so that the plug couldn't arc anymore. i re-adjusted the plug, shoved it back in, and it drove it home.
  15. Sorry about that. It was going ok, and then it started to get jerky, and the tachometer was spiking like crazy. and it slowly got worse. as this was happening, it wouldnt accelerate very well, like the timing was off. but i checked the alignment on the belts and it was fine. so when i got back to my house, i turned it off, and tried to start it up again, and it wouldnt start. Something else is when i replaced the wires, i wasent thinking and took them all off. i found a diagram to which wire went where but i think the distributor might be off now. I replaced the timing belts in october, the ditsy does turn, and i will check the carburetor Oh yeah, i took it offroading a bit before this started to happen. didnt do anything stupid though
  16. So i have a carbed EA82 in an 85 GL wagon, and i cannot for the life of me, get it to start. the engine turns but it wont catch. i went out and bought new spark plug wires and replaced them, because it still had the originals, but that didn't help. so if someone could guide me through a troubleshooting course, i would be very grateful. i cant take it to a mechanic due to financial issues, and i need the car to run, because i need a car, and im starting to go into withdraws because i havent been able to take it anywhere in a month. so if someone would help me i would really appreciate it. HELP Thank you
