  1. why do these only last 2 years? the rubber seperates and when i jack my car up the strut falls down. i have same problem with subaru ones or aftermarket. so its inspection time and need to fix. should i remove the rubber and weld the plate into the mount. then i wouldnt have the rubber isolation but thats ok. just dont want to spend 150 again. is there a better mount or one to retrofit onto 84 brat strut/ with 6 inch lift

  3. fuel cells the answer, done it to two. sometimes get funny looks getting gas, people are not to smart. yeah i,m putting gas in the bed:lol:
  4. hhhmmm i live in new hampshire, havent had a sway bar for 4 years and got an inspection every year. i guess its how well you know the garage. i went to a dealer and they didnt give my bronco one because of no inside rearview mirror. baby mechanics, cry that its the law:confused:

  6. hi everyone!!!! i have been driving brats since 1992. i would be interested in meeting some fellow brat addicts. if this is something i could come to i would be interested . i can bring some bbq stuff, chips crackers, or whatever.:cool:
  7. i think strut rod bushings, i had similar shimmy. replaced bushings and rods. shimmy fixed. as a side note, just took apart brothers 295,000 mile brat to junk. steering shaft u joint had one beairing totally blown and rag joint all tore up.
  8. take it off, weld it together . if not i can sell you one.
  9. 85 brat, 287,000. after many northeast winters, lots of patches welded in,on and around. it is completly rotted. stripping it because it still runs great.restoring a 86 now for to use this drivetrain in. the new one 106,000. but wont use in winter.should have for many years. i do want one for ever!!!! thats why i have 10 in my yard.

  13. i have a brand new subaru #6920 56551, its a chrome front hood molding. by the looks it should fit gen 1 brats. i have all gen2 brats. pm me if interested in purchasing.
  14. i made my own 6 " lift for free. super strong and looks great. 2x6 " tubing.
  15. me tooo. grinder,cutoff tool, metal, welder and all good again. i am putting new rockers ona brat now. oh forget ill junk it and buy one from west and pay to much , then when all the rubber is cracked and paint is faded i will junk that and buy something new like all the fools with car payments, blahblahblah.fix your car and enjoy!!!!
  16. an hour at most. i have brats and i know i had to remove pedal for access to pivot pin. just remember the buhings, clips and routing. compare new cable first to make sure ends are right. i had wrong one and luckily had other vehicle to drive.

  19. i have had 2 brats that the stock tank rusted out. i put aluminum fuel cells from summit against bulkhead and removed stock tank. i would get fuel cell and install fuel switch to switch between 2 tanks. there are electric and manual swiths, i would use manual for easy use.
  20. you can get these mounts new. just bought mine at autozone $25 each.
  21. my brother and I have done all this before. we have done to three diffrent brats. one we just took off road, got 7 years out of the rebuild..had 280 000 miles and ran great but 7 winters in NH was all it could take. all pictures were very similar in size and location. working on another brat, but this one is mounted on 75 bronco frame. just had to cut front frame rails yesterday for header clearence. 302 powered brat with 37 " tires. oh this is big. i will start thread soon when i figure out how to

  23. :)hello everyone!!! i am in southern Nh. i have had brat since 1992. now have 8. 2 on road. 6 inch lift on my daily driver. i have talked to bratman in maine. anyone else from new england here.
