  1. $7-8 Canadian Dollars a can for either product at Canadian Tire. SOOO $5-6 US dollars a can!!
  2. I see you are in Miss. can anyone coment on the snow traction of these long wearing tires. I had a set of Michelin X Radials on a '98 Legacy L wagon they wore like IRON but did not have ANY SNOW TRACTION!!
  3. Yep severe at 15k, soooo REPLACEMENT for normal use every 30k just like all other fluids!
  4. I guess so, but if you read there web site it is a enviromentaly friendly mineral oil based product like is in cosmetics! It SEEPS into welds and crevaces better than wax to protect it. There are two forms the Rust check is for interior panels etc. The Coat & protect is for exsposed suspension and fram parts that are not under coated. A-arms, subframe, frame rails, etc.
  5. I just did my '95 SAAB 9000 Aero and my Girl's '99 Civic EX sedan AND my Mom's '03 GT sedan with only six cans! Not hard to apply it yourself!! I am just looking for a place us Americans can get is SHIPPED to us from?
  6. For all you guys in the rust belt. Before the salt flies get some Rustcheck for the under body of you Roo!! This oil/wax coating in a can makes me feel much better with my Mom's '03 GT sedan going into the New York winter. Only problem is only our Canadian friends have the stuff. I think the Big Three do not want us to have it down here in the states. I just get it on my trips up to Canada.
  7. I would shy away from Volvo now. My Mom was looking at them and Audi Quattro's before she got the '03 Legacy GT sedan. The reliablity of the Volvo's and the Audi is WAY less than ANY Subaru or Infinity G35X (AWD) or a the new Mazdaspeed6 5-door, AWD!! Even Lexus has the IS300 in AWd now! There are a lot of coices in AWD cars now!
  8. Well had them put on and a four wheel alignment! Car handles WAY bettter, and no HUGE increase in road noise!! I think a very good choice for her!
  9. Looks like a replcement for my 1995 SAAB 9000 Aero, 5-door, LARGE sedan with 225hp, turbo charged, 2.3L four, 16 valve, with 5-speed and traction control!!
  10. Check all vacuum hoses as well. at 11 years old they are going to crack and leak vacuum!
  11. Just ordered a set of BFG Traction T/A's for my Mom's '03 GT sedan 205/55R16. Tirerack.com and EVERYONE HERE rates them good at everything but many have reported loss of 1-3 MPG!!
  12. You are right that was a recall done on our '98 Legacy L wagon before we sold it. Too bad the FRONTS did the same thing and were not covered!!
  13. Nokian is Finnish and they have a YEARROUND winter tire test track in Finland are VERY good snows. Gislavid (Swedish) Nordfrost Snows that I have on my SAAB 9000 Aero with Traction Control System (205/55R16) are great also!
  14. Yes the car was from Cherry Hill so a SOA exec. drove it for the first 17k then my Mom bought it from Bill Kolb in NJ.
  15. I thought it was illegal for SOA or a stealership to say there was no outstanding recalls for your VIN when there are?
  16. Thanks for the link! There are "FOUR" recalls on a '03 Legacy GT sedan that were not performed on my Mom's '03 Legacy GT sedan? Only one the Auto. Tranny Parking rod was performed? But when I call SOA or the stealership they say that there are no outstanding recalls for her VIN #?? But she does have some rust ALREADY on the subframe in the rear??
  17. Why do the weight, and snows thing with a RWD when FWD and AWD cars can handle the stuff like it's not happening!! My 2 cents, I had a guy in our complex in NH. he had a Rustang with snows all around. he could not evene pull out of his parking spot. I pulled through a 3 foot drift with WORNOUT all-seasons on my '98 L Legacy just to piss him off! You should not own RWD North of MA.
  18. Get the Roo for $1,100. I JUST BOUGHT A '95 SAAB 9000 Aero 5-speed with 300hp. while it is allot more fun to drive it has already needed more repairs in three months than my Roo's needed in two YEARS!! What model Volvo's does she like, the old RWD ones!!! They SUCK in the winter I hope you have good snows for them! The Roo will laugh at a RWD Volvo on snow covered roads with All-season on it!
  19. Can't do fuse trick the car at the donation lot is a 5-speed not electronic clutch pack! If the prices are like what I have seen at the two "Donation for the Blind" centers in Newburgh, NY they are very ressonable!! I paid $200 EACH for two '87 Jeep Grand Wagoneers (winter plows/off-road beaters) that ran and I drove them home 80 miles!!!! If the car is in the $100's of dollars just get it, fix it up yourself and enjoy AWD this winter!
  20. Two works "Torque Bind"! If the AWD system is not alowing a speed differince between the front axle and rear axle the car will "BIND UP". Be hard to turn steering wheel too pull into parking spaces, go around tight turns on dry pavement. Also try puting the front wheels on a SLICK SURFACE AND SEE IF THE REAR WHEELS KICK IN FAST TO PROPEL YOU ALONG!
  21. 1 Lucky texan, you are right on the nose! Got a call ALL pads are worn down $250 for front two $250 for back two and the will flush and bleed the system. My Mom is going for it since THEY said they are going to get into the rotors soon. 32k of my MOM driving the car and ALL FOUR OEM pads are shot!! This sounds like the shody braking system in our '98 Legacy L that wore pads and rotors unevenly and ate 10 sets of pads and four sets of rotors in 150k!! Is there anything better out there for us? I replaced the junk stock rotors on the '98 L with Brembo rotors and they lasted longer.
  22. I have been searching the Northern New England area for a wrecking yard that has the parts I need for my '95 SAAB 9000 Aero and I found one in Manchester, NH. But, while there I saw SEVEN new. gen Roo's pretty intacted including a '01 Forester '99 Impreza for picking parts off of! It's called Hebert's in Goffstown, NH http://www.hebertsusedautoparts.net/ Enjoy the hunt guys!
  23. Driving lights WERE ON e-brake down and the idiot light on! So level sensor or pressure the issue. Prestige is looking at it today for her. She is still under the 36k new car warrenty so it will be covered RIGHT?
  24. The 2.2 engine is bullet proof! The drive line IS very picky and Temp spare should NOT be used any longer than absolute need!! I would have PO put at least the regular tire and wheel back on and drive it in tight figure 8's to see if driveline is already damaged. have a independant shop that services Subaru's check it out for ya.
