  1. no lights, no flashing. It is a EJ25 so don't know if H6 issue would arise. It is mainly if you are coasting and slightly apply gas again around that speed.but will do it + or - 10 mph of 45.
  2. I have a '03 GT Legacy sedan, if it is in Drive the car jerks bad when doing around 45-50 mph. I can't tell if it is the torque converter locking and un locking or a 3rd to fourth mis-shift. I have put full synthetic ATF with Wix filter in the 4EAT Transmission last swap.
  3. I had the timing belt done for $600 at a local shop, mechanic used the full Gates kit with the water pump. I had him keep all the parts so I could see condition,he replaced all 4 idlers, the hydro. tensioner, and water pump and thermostat. Good to see at 110k on a '03 Legacy GT the orginal belts were in great shape, but always want to be on the safe side. Gates kit has a limited lifetime warranty also, something to look into.
  4. There is a way to do it, you have to un-plugging a connector under the steering wheel in US spec Legacy's
  5. Ended up having a local custom exhaust shop cut out the two flanges on the resonator, and replace with sections of pipe. Hopefully the rest of the factory system will last for awhile. Was $140
  6. I need to protect the paint on my '03 Legacy GT from kick up. However the fastners holding the leading edge of the rocker covers and fender protector are plastic? They will not hold a mud flap will they?
  7. Just stopped by local stealership manager said SOA is no longer making Legacy platform in manual as of 2015.
  8. Is there a system available in stainless or at least with stainless flanges? If there is I have not come across it in my searches? Only a Walker system with aluminized piping and a stainless muffler body. Has a lifetime warranty, in New England what is lifetime 3-4 years?
  9. I believe that there can't be a exhaust leak under the passenger compartment. Which would allow exhaust to get into the vehicle while warming up etc.
  10. Find attached a picture of the resonator pipe to muffler pipe connection that is leaking on my '03 Legacy GT sedan with 107k on the clock. my guess is the flanges will not put up with me taking them apart. Once apart they will never go back together again. Is my best bet replacement over flanges, and new donut and call it fixed for awhile. Or is there a stainless kit I should put in it and fix it right? Cause only thing I am finding on Rockauto and at local autoparts stores is Walker aluminized stuff?
  11. Any way to get to the back side of this section so I can make sure the rust does not go from inside out?
  12. So to save $150 would not be really bad idea to leave the original water pump in till 200k. However, It did have that SOA external head gasket leak stuff running though it to prevent external heat gasket failures. Wonder if that stuff is harder on the pump?
  13. I have a local Subaru shop that will install Mitsuboshi belts and, Koyo tensioners for $500. If you want the Aisian water pump and a new thermostat it is $600. Most other quotes I was getting in the area were $800+. The car has 107k on the clock do the water pumps go pop that often on the EJ25?
  14. I just noticed this rusty seam on the drivers side of the '03 GT sedan! How can I stop this now from getting as bad as the pics above!
  15. Thanks for the replies . Yes wanter to teplace boot without taking piston out of caliper. Guess will not work. Piston walls look ok
  16. Boots on front caliperpiston on drivers side have a big gadh in then. Got a new seal and boot kit however how do I get boot sealed back in caliperwith taking piston completly out.
  17. Glad I did not reboot my stock axle. Inner was SHOT so loose almost fell out of cup!
  18. Ya pin that came with after market axle was to thick. One that father in law that was SAE fit great! My axle nut also did not stick out as much.
  19. I was thinking about rigging up another heat shield between the cat anf the CV boot to try to protect it more. Or would header wrap be better?
