  1. well i jsut did an alternator swap from an 87 nissan pathfinder. 90 amp alternator. it practically bolted right up to my ea82. all i did was use the female connectors for the plug in. i believe most alternators out of the older 3.0 v6 nissans will work.
  2. and it will idle fine. its jsut anything past like 1000 rpms.
  3. alright heres what it does........(hitachi) under any throttle range itll die from lack of gas being pulled through the primary jetting. i recently rebuilt it and immediately would starve out. well with a lil red straw used off a spray can i blew through the primary jetting. after pulling the top off to plug the air bleed (im assuming that is what this hole is for) with my finger so i could see air bubbles in the bowl and i did. put it together and ran great. a week later does it again. i took a flash light and watched no gas getting pulled through the venturi. its a primary only thing. seconday moves tons of gas and the lil plunger pump (4get what its called) pumps gas to so that narrows it down to the primary circuit. any thoughts guys??? im thinkn its just somthin floatn around but it seems to random to be that.
  4. so i used to drive a rwd b4 i got my subie. well this fwd stuff bored me on the pavement and the no rear e-brake grrrr...... hah well i dropped one of my front axles and drive around in 4 hi so in theory its just a rwd.(drifting donuts makn cookies ) is this bad or hard on the front diff???
  5. picked up an alternator from a nissan 3.0 v6. did the swap into my 87 ea82 carb. literally bolted right up except for about an 1/8in worth of washers. so far so good. multimeter said 15.4 volts from the alternator(disconnected battery negative) so far so good. used female plugs for the plug-in
  6. considering i have a spare from when i toasted my heads when my water pump went out yes. hah woulda made it home and saved if id waited longer for the engine to cool b4 adding water damn. oh well hah
  7. is at lower rpms or just idle??? try loadn up the engine when it starts acting up. (like 30mph in 5th and floor it for like 5 seconds) idk but when my carb acted up like that i would do that and that seemed to solve temporarily until it would do it again a different day. does it cut out at low rpm when you get on it or give it any gas??
  8. For the record i am only dreamin. yah haha. anyways. anyone ever considered doing a stroker kit maybe?? lengthen the stroke possibly?? im not quite sure how to do it but idk machine the bearings out to accomadate a longer stroked crank out of flat four. vw or subie or..... frick who knows maybe one out of a completly different type of engine. i enjoy trying to make stuff work.
  9. at one point i was paintn all kinds of stuff on car a desert camo brown. i painted all kinds of stuff. hell i made some foglights out of those french vanilla cafe can thingys. they worked too.(i got them in the pic inserted around my grille) hah. i hacked off the bumper wraps with a grinder cuz the screws were rusted and inconvenient to get to. made a cold air intake out of random stuff laying around the house plus an air intake hose off a jeep cherokee. got the cone filter from shmucks. Tinted my tail ights with black spray paint. glass pack for my exhaust. (20 bucks). ditched the catalytic converter. wired up an under hood light. stripped the interior. its all been fun.
  10. well i just rebuilt mine for like 20.00(schmucks) . cheaper than 60 for one at junk yard thatll prolly need rebuilt anyways. and unless you have emissions to worry about alot of the vacum stuff isnt that big. i have one to my secondary distributor and one to my vacum chamber. im sure i left out one or two things but really itll run fine if you pretend your just mounting up a carb on an old v8
  11. psssshhhhhhh who needs a full roof rack. hhhhaaaaahh jp
  12. DUDE ME TWO. 19 broke and just enrolled in college. hah. ************.
  13. I recently did a rebuild on my hi-crappy carb. New fuel pump and filter too. definetly runs better. idles steady and doesnt randomly shut off when at idle hah. if i loaded up the engine(25 in 4th or 5 th) and floored it that would fix the random shut off when idling. idk how but it did. it left me with a giant backwards question mark in my head. BLEHH. I tubbed the interior of most plastic and door panels. cut out the door pockets though. i use those hah. tinted my tail lights and window light too. blacked out my rear emblem and key hole. oh ditched the plastic gutter/slider for roof rack. ditched the "wing" and the back trim pieces and gas cap. im gettn a lockn one soon though noones gonna ever get more than a gallon or two out of my tank. hell theyll prolly get dirt or silt.
  14. yah i think im gonna just start fresh like you said
  15. oh i effed it up now. ha there is the egr one which i found has the same color wire as the one i traced to the fuel pump wire. which is ( sorry guys) not a single green one but a single blue one. sorry sorry. its hangn rounghly below the relay. i believe this is that wire because its connected to the positive side of the pump.
  16. so the green wire with a red stripe running from the pump to the single wire lime green plugin is nothing?? this plug is jsut hangn there and i dont see anything for it to plug into.
  17. ur talkn about that lil black box with the mitsubishi lookn sign on it right?? its like 3inches long by two inches wide by 1 inch tall? and its got a metal strip that bolts it down??
  18. and ill try that defroster relay idea thanx bunches
  19. alrighty. well there isnt an ecm, the green plug is a one connection only. i will definetly check on that this afternoon when its 34 degrees instead of 15 haha thank you peoples ill keep ya updated
  20. damn. i had em backwards hah
  21. damn i wish my gas guage looked like that. mine always looks like oil pressure guage. some where betweeen zilrch and an 1/8 of a tank blehh haha
  22. alright so i bought my subaru about 1 yr ago. the owner previous to me had rigged somthing up wierd. my fuel pump works great. but it doesnt shut itself off when the key is on(not running). i have an 4wd 5spd 87 gl wagon carbd. i was trying to locate the relay for it or somthin jsut anything even. well i traced the original wire( i hope its green with red stripe) under the dash to a lime green female connector. its not plugged into anything. jsut kickn. is there somthing missing?? am i trippn balls??? what should i be lookn for. another question. what are the plugins and two relays for under the vacum chamber on the passenger side between the strut and firewall?? help is greatly appreciated thanxs. hah and i had no idea this damn had so many wires for being carbd and having no power options.
  23. oh ************ yah! hah that thing is tiny. id definetly use it
