  1. I have used the "drift" method before myself and it works as long as your using a cold chisel or a centerpunch
  2. http://www.jcwhitney.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?productId=1600&catalogId=10101&storeId=10101&langId=-1&TID=1544 http://www.magnaforce.com/ try those sites on for size
  3. I have seen images of filters that have been cut open after using the magnet trick and you will be suprised what can get through those filters
  4. hey sometime soon if you want to just come on over and hang out email me and I will give you my addy
  5. yeah cause we want the girls to be allowed into the tree fort
  6. hmmm I wonder if I can get my hands on a new CVJ or 2 and a DOJ or 2 and take them to work and have them put in the chiller for a few
  7. lol yeah and then cause of the pain in the rear Salem cops they moved it to downtown and now I don't know where it is now
  8. if I ever snap one on the 76 I might try to find a new set of rear shafts and do that but for me the rear shafts on the 76 are basicaly datsun/nissan shafts with u-joints instead of cvj's but might think of the front halfshafts though considering it's gonna get alot of abuse when I get it going again for rallycross
  9. that must be the old old old gut then cause it has moved a few times since then lol and that Bob's is still there I think but the one on Lancaster closed shop a few years ago which sucks
  10. use the same motor mounts so yeah use the motor mounts off the ea-71 and bolt them up to the ea-81 when you put it in
  11. nope it's the linkage you hafta be careful of not the crossmember Brian cause the d/r has the same mounting points as the s/r tranny but the linkage on anything that is a gen 2 is different than the 81 brat d/r or any s/r of that era
  12. I used to live in Mt.Angel and who knows you might have seen me runnin around a few years ago with a 91 loyale 2wd that was the dreaded mica red but live up in the Portland area but if you want to make a trip up here I might be able to help if anything
  13. well the rear diff and the tranny's do have them and if there is a aftermarket company that can make one for the subie that would be cool for the engine and there is one that you can get that clamps onto the oil filter and then also there is a lil gadget for cutting open the oil filter when you pull it out so you can actualy look into the pleats and if you want to you can actualy use a coffee can and some solvent (like mineral spirits) and wash the pleats out and then if you want to take it to a metallurgy lab (a good place for to find one is a state university or just look in the yellow pages) and find out the concentration of certain metals and find out what the heck is going on with your engine the reason why I know this is cause a majority of aircraft maintenance companies and aircraft owners do this to keep track of wear and tear on the engine in their plane
  14. well then check for air leaks to the manifold like the boot from the maf to the tb and so on and so forth
  15. that's understandable they are not strict with the open class rules and the truck/suv class is sat up more like open but for the trucks and suvs to run and if you want the site for our setup it's www.oregonrally.com and just look under rallycross and the other exclusion of the rules is instead of prod being just 2wd the smaller bored 4wd's can run in it also cause of the unfair advantage of the higher capacity 4wd/awd's of PGT but IIRC we are sorta folowing the actual rulebook on that too so who knows lol it's a bunch of gobbledygook on article 11 as it is! and who knows what next year will bring also cause there has been word that even rallyX will be going with the staged rally stuff from SCCA
  16. well I think I have been on it but I don't really know but the hills around here I try to keep my revs up above like 3500 rpm or more so I can get the oomph to go up it and for me I am over near the Clackamas town center.
  17. in fact here is what one of the locations looks like and if you look closely yeah there are other tracks elsewhere that are grown over with grass but that is from an older RallyX and the track was already used by a dozen or more vehicles already this is courtesy of www.rallyrabbit.com
  18. yeah sounds like it's different then cause we use the standard classes like in pro/club rally with the exception of adding a truck/suv class as in: Open Production GT Production Group 2 Group 5 truck/SUV and the course changes radicaly from one event to another and isn't a sat course as in roads already sat and stuff
  19. hmmmm now if only I can talk the wife into doing this while also going and visiting my Uncle down in Yuba City
