  1. Alright, I will keep you informed, my old bumper is back up on C-List for $30, so hopefully it gets bought and Ill have some money for that this upcoming week. Did you find an alternator that would work?
  2. Stuff that NEEDS to be done Passenger wheel bearing Driver axle & boot Tires Alternator Air Filter Oil Change Spark plugs / wires Future plans: Different stereo, probably a digital one with cd/ipod New speakers Possibly different seats (undecided) Weber carb Basically itll look stock-ish, but will be a clean stock look *besides the stereo as they didnt have iPod hookup in '84*
  3. Will do, right now, spot in garage is cleaned out if it starts raining, so Ill have to wait on that... Jacob, is the K&N with you or Rick?
  4. Here is my 1984 Subaru DL, home in my driveway. 154k miles, Hillsboro Car its whole life. Bought in 1984 in Cornellius OR. Sold to another man in Aloha Oregon, and is now in my driveway in Hillsboro/Aloha Oregon. OUTSIDE DAMAGE TO BUMPER ENGINE TRUNK - Has my first tool box (with jumper cables, timing light and tool set) and chains. OUTSIDE (left side)
  5. Haha, why would they pull YOU over for having a mounted gun when they could go get the OTHER guy for having his high beams on and passing you when youre doing 5 over already? Surely they would make the better choice by ticketing the high speed high beam driver
  6. Welcome. Youll find an incredible amount of info And friendly people! Yes, search function is the best idea. But since Im here. I think any exhaust would do, since its rotting through, you might just take it in and have them replace it with a 2 inch pipe all the way down if you can, I did that with my Loyale and it wasnt too bad. Got the job done and didnt sound like a Honda:lol: OR DIY and save money, thats always a good thing.
  7. That sounds great. We will rush out right after class.. PM Sent for plans.
  8. Well... Depends on what we do. If we want to just clean/organize for now, and then work on my car later, thatd probably be best, since I only have 1 wheel bearing and about $.95 to buy a bearing with... Since my car does need work, I would have to have girlfriend follow me out there (Sept tags) so I didnt get a cop sitting on my tail. Or take her car, but she has to work from 9am-3pm and driving out there in rush hour would take forever.... And Saturday I have class 8am-1230pm... We could head out after that? Im super excited for this
  9. Rick, that would be an honor. You have no idea. Wasnt thinking youd be the one to say that (was pretty sure my 100s of questions had made you dread hearing from me ) but I would love to
  10. Oh and oil change Spark plugs and wires Tires Ugh, I need a job Anyone need a shop boy? Ill work for 8.50 an hour
  11. Me too I gotta proritize here I need wheel bearing on the right front Left axle is ticking when I turn left Alternator and battery are toast Air Filter Tags (Sept '10) Title switch Window on drivers side doesnt work I wish $500 would fall into my lap
  12. But if thats a JY, how long will these parts last? Would it be an advantage to just replace the wheel bearings and get it done so they last?
  13. How might that be done? Do I look for the whole spindle? I bet Im more broke (funny Im betting at a time like this haha) but where, and how much would that cost me?
  14. I see that my basic tools wont get the job done... Anyone in Oregon know of a shop that will do this fairly cheap?
  15. Exact copy of my faces... :-\ DAMN. Thank you. Guess I will go buy a whole set and forget the one Ive got
  16. My front right wheel bearing needs to be replaced... I was thinking Id have to wait because I didnt have the funds... But I was in my garage, and I pulled out a "SKF" box that was labeled "bearing" so Im hoping that this part will fit mine, it came outta my 1984 GL Wagon 4WD, but now I have a 1984 DL Sedan FWD. The SKF box says its part 6207 Autozone says I need part 207 Question is, is this the bearing I need? If so, how do I replace it?
  17. I would love the help So what parts should I get? Jacob (renob123) came out and said that the handle should be grabbing a gear, so that the window goes up and down, and its not grabbing that.. Without a lot of free time, its hard to say come look at it, Ill get the parts and then have you come back, I have loads of free time, but thats cuz I have no job and only 3 days of school a week. He told me to remove the other door panel and look at it, so Ill do that here soon and see what I can see
  18. I shoulda done that Cuz now my arm still smells like gas several handwashes and 3 showers later Oh well, it has been done, but I will look and make sure that it goes to the engine. I took the hoses off one at a time. Took one hose off, noted which side it came off of, and put it on that, the arrow hose went where it belonged, where the other didnt. lol
  19. If you like the designs of those, those are EA engines and from what Ive been told, are running about 74 horsepower... Now my EA81 in my 1984 DL Sedan moves, Ive gone 0-40 faster than my girlfriends 06 Pontiac Vibe. Hasnt been up to 60 yet as I have expired tags and like to keep it in the neighborhood For speed on the highway, youll want the EJ22... From Rick (GeneralDisorder) Ive heard that the 1990-1994 Legacy is an INCREDIBLE car, very reliable, and stock, very quick. Never had one, but want one badly... The swaps can be kinda messy (again, from other peoples knowledge, not my own) but if you find one already done, you might have what youre looking for... But for just stock, want to go from point a-point b reliably and quickly, go with an EJ22
  20. Whew. Thank you Rick I followed the arrows, I undid one hose, and put my thumb on it, looked at the filter, it didnt have an arrow, so I put that hose on the new filter with no arrow, and then did the other one, glad I did it right... Score one for me:banana:
  21. Any more ideas? I dont wanna ruin something...
  22. So are they using it to show that Subarus last? Thats pretty awesome
  23. So I need to reverse the lines? Or just find a way to flip it back over? I had gas dribbling down my arms so I was trying to get it in without twisting the lines, and thats how it popped in..
  24. Oops, I should say that this is a 1984 DL Sedan.. Hopefully it doesnt affect it, Thank you Grossgary for your quick reply. I will leave it alone unless someone else raises an alert to me Repair #3 on DL - COMPLETE Now for air filter and alternator soon
