  1. It's cool that you're stepping up to host this! I'll just wait till that goes up because I figured out my problem on my own. heh. Nothing a bit of FSM doesn't help
  2. No... 10 hour drive from southern to northern maine. heh. It's gonna be more like a 20 hour drive for me. Prolly stopping at my uncles house in NJ on the way. dunno... Maybe stopping because the engine in my car blows up.... who knows.

Yes. This thread is about locking the rear diff, not the center.
  4. The fogging issue is most likely the seal between bulb base and the housing. I re-sealed mine, and the fogging didn't go away. And the only other place moisture could be getting in is the old hard gasket that seals the bulb in.
  5. So if you spent $8000 on a car it would be worth $300 of lights? I still don't get it... I got a REALLY nice 2nd gen legacy for $400, does that mean I should drive it through the woods? Look back at my post with the two hella 500s and the hella 750ff. Buying new that's only about $100 of lights, although, it's not hard to find them used .The output is amazing. Just have the switched by the high beams, with a switch to completely disable them.
  6. Does it only make the sound with the AC on? How well does the AC work? In my 96 the AC ran low on refrigerant and I guess oil too. After a while running hard to try to keep the car cool it would start to make a faint bearing noise that got a lot worse when I really got on the gas. I topped up the refrigerant but never added oil. durr. It was fine for a year like that but the compressor seized up on the new owner 5 months after selling it.
  7. I fixed the problem by adding more lights.
  8. I have working mechanisms for both sides too.
  9. Looked up how far away your town is... wow. I guess I didn't really realize how wide NC is, kinda like driving from southern maine to northern maine. It's like a 10 hour drive.
  10. It is possible for the transistor in the TCU responsible for the duty C to get fried... eulogious has a post about that is his tread about paddle shifters As has been said, look in the computer, or plain replace it.
  11. Go to a napa or a some other auto store that mixes paint and give them your paint code. They should be able to mix you a can.
  12. I'm not new here... but figured this is the best place to post. I'll be moving down to the Beaufort area for at least a month, hopefully find a job when I'm done with the work I'm headed down to do. Then I can stay longer, sick of ME... If anyone is from that area, hello! It'd be cool to move down and already have some friends I'll be leaving my 89GL in Maine and just taking my 98 GT, which is sad. So hopefully someone has a rusty broken old subaru I can wrench on so I don't forget how :-p
  13. It looks like a mix-n-match of all the best parts! Plus some custom awesomeness. Looking really cool.
  14. I've seen it (and ridden in it), the thing is amazing.
  15. No, he actually had it professionally 3-stage painted to some lexus red colour.
  16. The heated elements only add around $30 to a window. Local places want between 230 and 270 for replacement on my 98GT. It's still broken.... haha.
  17. A used WRX is so cheap these days it's not worth swapping an impreza L. Sure it would be cool to swap an old RX or something... But a car you see every day on the road? buy a wrx..
  18. Nice! Good job. How's the engine holding up? I have an ej22 with well over 300k and it's getting a little tired, but keeps on tick tick ticking.
  19. Super cool!
  20. I went on his facebook and found these... FYI, it's painted lexus red.
  21. The guy with the awsomer first gen, mike, put that on. I think he just glued it on there... I seem to remember a post about it falling off. hah. I'll ask in his thread on the local forum.
  22. The difference in warm up time isn't much, and offset by the fact that you should let your car warm up for a couple minutes when it's that cold out anyway.
  23. I lived across the valley from Beaver creek ski resort for a winter. I woke up in the morning looking across to the ski slopes. Pretty cool. I'm not sure if I saw more subarus there on in maine though... both subaru states.
  24. I've heard about, and seen this problem. But I have 6k DDM HID kit in my JDM projectors and never have this... Actually though, I'm working on the wiring design so lights and that high power stuff won't turn on until the alternator is outputting. Not for saving my HIDs, but more so when it's -20deg in the winter my car actually starts when I forget to switch everything off.
  25. Funny to see that pop up on here, both the first gen legacy's in that pic are friends of mine up here in Maine. The wagon that's half out of the picture is the fastest first gen legacy I've ever seen/ridden in/heard of.
