The 5 speed D/R should fit no problem. You will need the conversion kit from Bratsrus1 but its WELL worth the money. A bracket needs to be made and mounted to the underbody for the 2 piece driveline, or get a custom 1 piece made.

This weekend not good for me, not enough time to call in and I have plans already. Maybe next weekend the 27th or 28th?

Here are my drilled hubs: New studs are about 2$ a piece at napa and you need 16. They had to order mine but they came next day.

Any day works as long as I have time to clear it at work. We're slow enough that getting time off is easier. You guys pick and I'm there.

Im off Monday/Tuesday so that pretty much screws me out of anything. I may be able to get a weekend day off though. lets set a day and I'll see if I can manage it.

The WCSS 9 Experience Thread
Jibs replied to NV Zeno's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
Honestly, I thought it could have been better. There was no dinner get together while we did the raffle like in years previous. I also wanted a personalized mug as in years passed. The old gen crowd a lousy turn out, and a wheelin run wasn't really organized like last year. I wheeled once all weekend, and only for an hour or so. I totally dig the site and think its one of the better venues the show has been in, but otherwise I was bored, and tireds of the whole scene. A lot of people I talked to seemed to feelm the same way. I don't know if I want to try to make it next year, with gas getting more expensive and everything else, I don't know. -

No Customized Glasses this year? I just paid for 2, but couldn't find any info there. :-\ -
Yeah why do you need to remove the diff and axles? Does it bnd while driving or something? I'm not quite sure in that respect. And yeah I'm doing this to a damaged, rusted, Brat....now.

After looking through the board and the net, it seems that a few people have started one, I haven't seen any pics of them though. It seems like people suggest that the cv's need to be removed for some reason? Why would that be? I wouldn't be using it to tow anything heavy, just a few hundred pounds max. Any info is appreciated by those who have tried it.

Ok so I have 1 chance at this. I have the oppertunity to make a subaru Trailer out of a Brat shell. I remember talking to Monstaru about this at wcss8, and he mentioned cutting the Brat right in front of the support where the inside seats bolt to, like where your feet would be in the cab. That way, there would be room in front of the actual trailer for bins and stuff. Has ANYONE ever seen or thought of a subie trailer at all? How would this happen? I guess I could leave the whole rear assembly in and just make a hitch for it that attaches underneath somehow? What are your ideas? Suggestions?

All right thanks for the help. Looks like this is gonna be a fun project.:-\

4spd 4x4 to a 5spd 4x4, I need help
Jibs replied to GREENSUBIE's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I don't think you have to change rear ends. I did the swap to my Brat, and didn't do anything to the reare end. DEFINITELY get the 5speed kit from Bratsrus1 its a MUST. -
I need to remove the windshield in the Brat, but the seal is OLD. I can't seem to get the seal out, I read through the FSM and it's of little use. I tried to just kick it and I broke it a little. :-\ So how do you do it when the seal is cracked and doesn't want to come out?

Thats what I'm trying to figure out. I'm gonna be going to a baseball game on the 4th, and will be flying out the 5th, but the 2nd and 3rd are wide open. I'll probably go to pier 39, take the tour of alcatraz, tourist stuff like that.

Anyone ffrom the bay area want to get together the first week of July? I'll be in town hanging out the 2nd, 3rd and 4th and won't have too much going on, if anyone wants to do anything.

EJ22 Brat Swap, couple questions for those who have done it
Jibs replied to 86BRATMAN's topic in Subaru Retrofitting
Lets talk clutches with the ej22 swap and a 5speed D/R into a Brat. I have a basic brand clutch kit for an xt6 that I bought from autozone, but I haven't heard good things about them holding up in a wheeling rig. I looked through the centerforce site to see about a dual friction clutch for the xt6, but couldn't find any info there. I checked exedy clutch and didn't see a clutch there either. What other tough clutches are out there for this swap? I want something that'll hold up to some abuse. Thanks. -
EJ22 Brat Swap, couple questions for those who have done it
Jibs replied to 86BRATMAN's topic in Subaru Retrofitting
I have some small detail questions about the swap. I'm assuming the window wash fluid resevoir gets moved? Does the hill holder need to be removed to fit the ej? What else needs to be removed from the ea81 specifically to make the ej fit? Thanks. -

Yeah one of those old round ones I found in a pile of stuff lying around. It works though we got it going last week.
