  1. Having some fun If I cut my fenders it would go farther, but I'm surprised it even made this
  2. It was my axle. But the car has been parked until next summer, so it's not going to bother me much now.
  3. Yeah if he's looking at the door, it would say gross weight. Legacy's definitely don't weigh 4500 lbs. They really aren't that heavy of a car. According to wikipedia (which seems correct) the curb weight of a legacy is around 3200 lbs.
  4. If you are still looking for a hub, let me know. I've got two good 4-lug ones, I'd be happy to let one go for dirt cheap. I've also got all the nuts, bolts, washers and the castle nuts for them.
  5. Yeah that's what I was thinking. I'm not to familiar with the Mt Vernon area, where is the meeting area? Also, where is walker valley? (I've never been before)

    Lift Kits?

Yes, lift blocks are the way to go if you are looking for a 2" lift. But if I was to do it again (which I will be doing next summer) you are better off to go with a larger lift and doing it in the body lift (cross member/frame blocks) just so you won't have to do it later on. And they really aren't as difficult to install as you think. Just something to consider
  7. Starting this weekend, my car is going under the knife big time, and probably won't be done until summer. So I want to get some wheeling in. I'm here in Monmouth, OR and was wondering where the nearest trails to me are? Sorry if this is in the wrong thread.

    subaru lift

That would be rough. I was stopped on a hill on Boren Ave (I think that's a big hill one) and had to burn the clutch at 3k just to not roll back. I bought my D/R after that.

Not to mention, driving around downtown with 27's and a S/R is not fun, especially hills.

    Lift Kits?

There sure is a lot of drama in this thread. But, if you are looking for some good kits, either hit up the vendor forums, or sjrlift.com. But at the same token, a lot of us have made our own kits, it's fairly simple and pretty straight forward (but I have never used a cutting torch on one ) Let us know your location and somewhere here will be able help you build one, and refer you to someone close who can
  11. I'm thinking about going to the meet-up before heading to walker, so I can meet some people. I've got a S/R push-button (haven't had a chance to put in my D/R yet) and I've been told those don't work to well at walker.
  12. Also, what does the "shift lock" button do? And the "manual" button (which is on the side of the automatic gear selector)?
  13. Bash - yours looks really good. And to the OP; if you are looking to roll your fenders (like Bash) I have a fender roller that specifically does that job, if you're local I'd be happy to let you use it. But here's how I trimmed mine: (sorry for the crummy distorted pictures, I only have my phone with me) under the black pieces it is grinded and rolled flat (like Bash's)
  14. I have not had a 215/75/15 on my car, so I'm basing my opinion on my current set-up. This is all on a 2" lifted EA82 wagon A 215/75/15 is a 27.7" tall tire, and my car has a 205/75/15 which is a 27.1" tall tire. And to get them to fit on my Loyale wagon, I did have to do some trimming. But, not into the main shape of the arch, I trimmed about an inch (in width) and up about 6 or so inches, of each side of each arch. Many of the cars here seem to have very half-assed cut fenders (no disrespect) because they are wheelers only. But when I cut mine I used a sawzall, then I grinded the edge smooth (with an angle grinder) and put some edge guard on it, just for added protection. This way, it looks completely factory and you cannot tell any metal has been cut. I went through all this effort because mine is a daily driver. I hope this helps you
  15. Okay, cool thanks. Here's the direction I will be going with this car: Right now, I'm not to sure of what wheels I want. I'm thinking Borbet type A's, but I'm not completely set. I do know that I will have smaller tires, and better fitment. Coils, wheels, tires, done. That's the plan
  16. I have grabber at2's on right now, and I love them. I've heard things from another user about them not lasting very long, but I've had mine on for around 7k miles, and haven't seen any wear. They're quiet, they come in a lot of sizes, easy to find, and best of all; inexpensive. They seem to be the most "hardcore" all-terrain. The size I have is a 205/75/15, which is a 27.1" tire. I bought them on tirerack for just over $80 a tire. I would rather have a swamper, or a mud tire, but for the availability, size selection, and price, I couldn't beat the at2's. Here is a picture of my car: This car is my daily driver, and these tires perform perfectly for that. It's got a 2" lift, and required some fender cutting with this size tire. Here is another picture of them:
  17. Thanks guys! I need to find some good floor mats, any suggestions? I want oem rubber ones, but the dealership says they can't get them for first gen Legacy's.
  18. So I've been looking for a gen 1 legacy for a long while now. And I finally found a good one. So while my Loyale goes in for straight axles and an ej22, this is what I'll be driving: I bought it from the original owner. It's all stock, auto, and has 133k, and has all service records from the Subaru dealership that had done everything since the day it was bought, including the original window sticker.
  19. Where can I find, or make these bolts? If I'm going wheeling, and my car is bouncing around a lot, is there an advantage to have the optima over any other type?
  20. Will this work: http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/pts/1964674143.html ? Or does it have too high of CCA and CA? Does too high of cranking amps matter? Are all terminals the same?
  21. My battery in my loyale is finally gone, so I went to Costco to get one, and I get it home, and it's too tall. My closes fine and everything, but I can't bolt it down because my "straps" aren't long enough. Optima's are too expensive, so what is the next best thing that fits? The les schwab battery looks like it may be the only option
  22. My car (Loyale) is ready for some new headgaskets, and I'm really unsure as to what I'm doing. So, I'm just wondering if there is anyone in the area that could help me out? I can pay for time...
  23. It's good, I got it figured out. But not the oil pressure sensor wiring yet
  24. I had a weird chain of events happen, resulting in: two shredded accessory belts, my oil pressure sensor wire being wrapped around a pulley, and my dipstick missing from my car. What I believe to have happened is one of my pulley belts shredded and a piece hooked on to my sensor wire and dipstick, and pulled them both out. So, how how do I replace the oil pressure sensor wire? Do I have to take my front end apart to get on new accessory belts, and how do I go about detensioning/tensioning my belts?
  25. I'm a little confused, in the second picture, the top stick; it goes in and out with 3 locations which I thought were fwd, 4high, and 4 low. The foremost stick in the first picture, it doesn't seem to click into any gear, and/or pull in/out. Also, they are vans authentics, not converse
