get out your 10mm and 12mm wrenches and adjust the clutch so that it starts to disengage about and inch from the top (instead of in the bottom few inches)...You will need to 'tighten' the adjustment further onto the cable...also, if you have Hill Holder, be sure that that still works right after you make the adjustment. About the Clutch Up switch pad, yes, I've seen that happen before. you can either go to a yard and snag the lil' plastic/rubber pad, or improvise your own out of stuff you have lying around.

Car runs fine....now that we got the clutch pedal smoothed out....just wondering the major benifits of changing this over since i would need to think of ways to get the cruise to disengage with the clutch and how to get the car only to start with the clutch in it does this on its own the way it is wired now....... i just want to make sure the work i would put into it to wire it the other way is worth it.....thanks for your help as usual josh Cory

To all, Especially legacy777.....i am really contemplating the neutral switch.....currently i have the nuetral on the ecu wired through my clutch pedal switch telling it when it is in neutral or not....this is working well...it only allows me to start the car when the clutch is depressed, and also it makes the clutch disengage the cruise control.... If i wire up the neutral switch from the transmission i will lose all of those features..... What is the benifit of running the ecu through the transmission and not doing it like i have done it???? Really want to know Thanks all Cory

Well hello to any of you who have been following this and it has been a while since i posted on this issue, but its been a while since i had any news. Fixed the remaining issue: STIFF CLUTCH The clutch pedal was murder to push and i was driving for over a month like this....my left leg seems more muscular than my right...hmm... anyhow had two diffrent brand new clutch cables from some generic source.....both did the same thing....get a 150,000 mile old cable out of a wrecked out one....BEAUTIFUL works very smooth and dreamy. Also put some redline 75W90ns in it....shifting is so much better....im loving it...its like a new car again. Also just cuz i said, i put some borla headers on the ol impreza...gives it a throaty sound and some extra tourque and power at the end of the band.....and cuz there are no emissions laws where i live, perhaps removing a cat is in order..... One issue i have a question about...see my other post Cory out

my best advice would be to get an ej20T yes it will match up and would give you better life out of your engine....theres more to putting a turbo on your car than just bolting it on...you would need an ECU and would need to modify the wiring harness probabally....lots of time, work and smarts....go for it though an EJ22T would be a rare but cool find
