  1. check ALL of your vacuum tubes...perhaps you knocked one out when working ...especially the tubes on your intake etc forgot to hook one up when i was working on something....car idled fine...hit the gas...engine died...smoke came out:brow: found the hose hooked it up...no problem.... Perhaps a sensor..??
  2. Squirell has an fire button....if you want answers your gonna have to calm down and join the discussion not think you are above it....take a joke and get some advice.....
  3. as for the manual....you can get chiltons they are pretty good they dont cover a specific year...they cover lots of years because the engines havent changed much...just find one that covers a 2.5 liter and you should be ok About your hickup....fuel filter is a good idea....if the CEL is starting to come on that probabally means a sensor is starting to fail....ICV, MAF, O2....not sure which ones maybe one of the other guys could diagnose it specifically for you... Cory

  6. yeah we followed some drivers out to the start of the stages on day 3 ...couldnt find any good spots though before they headed out to hillsboro.....got to see Stig and the others spray champagne..... So thats what happened to the NAISOC car...we were wondering why it never showed....wow there was a pretty WRX and a couple other cars that rolled...
  7. Have an impreza with 280,000 still going strong.....you cant generalize

  11. well...i guess that makes me feel better...was gonna buy a 93 turbo but it was already sold =0( There are quite a few 91's in the local yard....how can you tell if they are VLSD
  12. The 2.2 liter engine is EXTREMELY reliable....Almost any subaru had the 2.2 at some point, impreza, legacy, Outback Sport, Forrester The DOHC 2.5 that came as an option for many of the above models, and standard in the outbacks, and some other models have a common head gasket issue....the brand new SOHC 2.5's though are pretty rock solid....new WRX, STI, Forrester etc Hope this helps
  13. check the ICV (Idle Control Valve) as well...it can be adjusted to change your idle
  14. cant you blow seals putting too much oil in?? not to mention burning it off yuck!
  15. have run aftermarket intakes on 3 subarus...no problems never a check engine How did you mate up to the MAF?
  16. Your talking about a multi-national corporation?? They dont peak they compete....if others start to catch up (dream on Ford) they will be pushed harder to compete. Who said they have researched this board and found they peaked in 1990...thats crap subaru used pretty much the same stuff from 90-99 Saying a company has "peaked" is ridiculous find a better topic and BTW the new 2.5 SOHC's are as reliable as the 2.2's
  17. Will Rear STI struts fit on my GC8 Body impreza?? 1997 4 door if you want to know...thanks
