  1. to get to the flywheel you have to take the entire tranny x member off....getting to flywheel = taking out tranny and yes the engine will be fine on its mounts
  2. Its high time i did a fuel filter anyhow....ill check the pump and regulator too Well ive not had problem with spark in any other situation and plug wires are pretty new..... 97 impreza L 2.2L 280,000:cool: THanks for the help
  3. yup looks like ill be there....too bad the hoodriver didnt pan out
  4. Some of us arent as good as rebuilding as you Reddevil.....though i should make a DVD on pulling and installing new tranny's
  5. Hello all, Throwing this out there to see what you all think. Here are the symtoms. 1. At the last rallyX there were stops on the course...i would slide to a stop pause for a second and then go....problem is the car had like 20% power until i pushed in the clutch revved it and dropped it again....did this everytime pretty much. 2. It does the above mentioned when the engine gets very hot Now what i was thinking was gas sloshing around therefore the fuel delivery is a little delayed, or perhaps a fuel filter? someone suggested vapor lock which i am not too familiar with.....any tips on the problem and solution would be great as it sucks my times down...thanks Cory
  6. http://www.rallispec.com/Transmission%20chart.htm
  7. tourqe bind is a knocking sound that kind of shakes the car...mine was always present at more speed than slow.....i would look elsewhere.....PS its also more prevalent in AT....but check your tire pressure....have a 4 wheel alignment done, and balance your tires
  8. yeah it was a good time, saw zap, and GLCraig, sorry about that 2.5rs that was a nice car....glad you are all ok
  9. haah nope...what a score......you gonna supercharge it??? btw i had the turbo leg at WCSS7, i bought a DVD from you, tall guy, howz the legacy doing?
  10. Well i have the smaller discs....and probabally the single pot calipers. I can get the calipers with the rotors as well as the back plates....anything else i may need..?? I think they will fit in my 15's but will check...thanks for the info
  11. The chart i have says the manuals were 4.11 http://www.rallispec.com/Transmission%20chart.htm So it would make sense that the auto was 3.9......though when looking up the part numbers it says they are for both AT & MT so its probabally 4.11....my buddy has a used 4.11 he may sell if your interested...Portland also though http://www.subaruparts.com/diag/?model=5&year=1993&style=RS&body=&scn=1&category=195-1
  12. Ebay has some "unofficial" Factory manuals for all types Cory
  13. Well yet another conversion of my subaru....well mostly impreza....ive got a lead on the stuff for a front disc conversion to turbo leg. From what i see the rotor is about an inch bigger in diameter...is there also more pad surface??? would this create noticably better brake response and stopping speed?? anyone done this?? let me know Cory
  14. yeah i looked around right after i posted and found it...thanks for the quick response....
  15. Hey as you can see im a new genner but im looking into an old wagon, which engine does a 84 GL Wagon have? Thanks Cory

  17. i have a set of STI springs.....and im looking to mate them to some KYB AGX's...though i had one guy think they wouldnt set in the strut right...i think it wouldnt be a problem...what do you think? Cory
  18. If you have access to the car you can just look at the drivetrain
  19. Richie comes recommended by everyone in this area...try him first he will be the last =0)
  20. no its not really normal to have torque bind.....believe me its a headache...so stay away from it if you dont want to take the risk.....other things that can cause torque bind is uneven tire pressure and bad alignment check those Cory
  21. it will be a few days till i can get to my junker....
