  1. its the 15 min. "pink" packaged stuff from NAPA. i think its the plastic weld stuff. Seems to hold up to the heat underhood fine.
  2. the factory rating for the legacy turbo's here are 160...and we only got an EJ22G SOHC one here from 91-94....up until 2005 when we nowhave the 250 hp ones...
  3. DEAL. I dont think Steven will give me proper input anyhow. EDIT: Going back to the tires thing...i am leaning towards the 15X7~8 range...but still open to anything 15". Driver....this i know. Im getting better you have to admit. Driving schools to come when i figure ive maxed out my self learning mode...which i imagine will come next year sometime. right now im just trying to get seat time with R's.
  4. Yup. But i tend to read 80% of the threads. :-p
  5. Ive always gone with....PS=HP +/- 10... Edit: OMG!!!!!! Just got the impreza LM race car on GT3....did all the goodies....OMFG THAT THING IS *INSANE*!!!!!!!!
  6. its 1/2" fuel line...lol. From NAPA. 300 PSI rating. I figured it would work. Used it on my first oil cooler set up. Oh, the stainless lines? thats secrect! lol The back are different and to my knowledge no one makes a stainless for the rear.
  7. Im looking for pure R compund tires....read: RACE TIRES. I did find some thru the site...but nothing in the size needed to keep the ratio correct.... shadow: i forgot you got all the 5 lug stuff with it too...those parts had a hard life, but they were rescued from death by me!
  8. Been looking at that all day long...it does not accurately show the width tho...but it gets the idea across.
  9. the shortest tires I can find are 225/45 hooisers....i want wider ones, the 245's.....yes, the 265's would be too wide...fender clearance. Ive not found any tire that will not increase the overall diameter past stock with the width and traction that I want....while i could go 15 inch...Ive not found any thing wider than 225.....It really depends on what wheels i come across first...then i will make the final tire decision.
  10. 6 lug? Its easier than doing the whol 5 lug thing. 2 options.... 1. Drill 2 holes in the 6 lug rims and ive got 4x140 rims. 2. Drill 4 holes in the hub and have a 6 lug hub why wide? Traction. I need more grip on autocross. Im trying to outrun WRX's and STi's...that and Im tired of being close to last or what not and everyone who's up top has 225/50 (or 45)/xx tires...me need something better than 205/60 all seasons or the old as heck R1's that i have...and those are mismatched....205/60 and 185/60... ive got new dampers and springs on the way, i am working on handling before the power.
  11. Odd...i imagine those figures are high then...or the cars are NOT stock. Either way...160 is the aggreed WHP figure for a stock wrx. We all know a stock WRX is supposed to have 227 CHP. Roughly thats a 0.7 conversion factor. That means those Legacy's have around 180 each. OR....those dynos are different, and the conversion would be 0.8125....by which case a WRX would have only 196 CHP on the same dyno. Or...more WHP...abouts 185. I know that my GL-10 dyno'd at 99.2 WHP...thats about 141 CHP. a mostly stock RX did 88, and thats about 118 CHP...plus the WRX's were right on...so we figured the dyno we used is accurate. I am drawing those figures from it...other dynos may vary....but still...i seriously doubt a stock USDM legacy would put down 130. Either its not stock or the dyno set up is vastly different than what we used.
  12. That XT stuff's been on there about...2 years now i think. Then braided lines are da bomb! I bled the system with the engine on this time, and had a helper...and that pedal is rock hard! Insta-response! i do think that I need to get a new mast. cyl, and a brace for it.
  13. a BONE STOCK WRX should put down 160...+/- 5...with MT. a BONE STOCK USDM Legacy turbo should put down 112...+/- 5....with MT. if a legacy turbo is putting down 130 MT, it would have about 185 hp. Stock is 160 with 181 TQ or so.
  14. Ok....ive already chosen the make....Khumo Victoracers. They last longer and are less expensive than the Hooisers....although the hooisers are more sticky....im on a budget. should I got with 245/45/16? Or the 265/45/16? im set on either one or the other....looks like I can squeeze the 245's under the stock fenders...the 265's...i might if i limit body roll...but then steering clearance.... I was thinking I'd go with the 245's to start with...but the 265's are only $3 more a tire... Oh, and i need 4 16X7~8 6 lug rims. I guess it depends on how wide of a rim i can find to start with...
  15. I should report that the other RX i have...open intake and exhaust...hwy miles...30 MPGs.
  16. Ok...here are some more pics! Brake line!! Brake line pt2!!!! hey...thats not where its SUPPOSED to be... Wait...whats behind the grille there...?? WHOA!! I see a ricer filter! The pump side.... While I was under there...snap a pic of the line....PT3!!! New tensioner, yay! Ooo...i see something behind the grille...? Ahhh....OE SUBARU filter! Some epoxy that seems to be holding that peice in rather well....i also did the otherside as well. (thats 3 QTs of FRESH mobil 1 10w30 synt there.... ...reember to put the DRAIN PLUG IN!!! ) Its all put together. That filter leave space so that the intake boot is not bound up or stressed at all. Its foam in there....so i dont know about the advisability of running it for a longtime...PLUS the whole filter housing is plastic...hmmmm... The BOV and FIV plumbing... More hoses!! Ok..edited!
  17. So...driving around...to 6k 90% of the time, being on boost more than 50% of the time...commuting to and from with heavy city traffic...then wide open country roads driving those like Petter Solberg would..... Im getting 21.6 MPGs. Also, thats with the BOV venting to the atmosphere. So....with the BOV closed up...so it recircs now....and an oil cooler setup...i wonder what MPGs I'll get. I did notice a 1 MPH increase in speed "to the bridge"....68 now...was 67. Eh...must work on corner speeds. KYB! SPRINGS! CAMBER!
  18. three letters....D I S!!!! Ive not had mine re curved....but I always mess wid the timing.......
  19. More pics to come..... that fuel filter is only $3....and its rated for FI.... whats wrong with the stock location? Well....the air dam prevents air flow around it and the oil just gets hotter and hotter with that header right there.....on NA its fine. Plus, i wanted a non-T-stated oil cooling system, so I just moved it. Oh crap, rain, stuff outside.
  20. Good point. Folgers aint gonna do crap about it. TWE might.
  21. ok, i'll spill it and post pics as I get them.... I installed front braided stainless brake lines. Oil cooler (behind the grille there on the right...err, left side of the car) Remote oil filter base (there at the air filter/flow meter assy) plumbed up the BOV/recirc system correctly re-hooked up the high idle thingy installed that new air filter....its shorter than the cone, so the intake boot/hose is not bound up and stressed changed the oil and use the OE SUBARU oil filter and crush washer (oh, funny pic for that one to come) and....the brakes need to be bled tomorrow, still some air in it. Oh and installed new belts and the new tensioner.
  22. Yeah, that RX has 4 do-nuts on it...well...3...will ahve 4 tomorrow. Well...for starters...theres a ricer filter on the car...the BOV as some piping...the oil filter is no longer in the stock location...and there is something behing the grille.....
