  1. I need 88 more WHP. EDIT: Lets all get along. Pending approval from the bank for a small peice of plastic...im gonna start builing this setup soon. lately ive only been cast off and blown off by 99.9% of the people i know about the potential of the car. If you notice, my tone in all of my "ultimate EA82T" threads, its in a rather pissed off tone....most of time time i post it to relieve my anger. But still....i strongly believe I can build up the wagon to be faster than a USDM stock WRX for 4~6 thousand. Hopefully...I will be able to start on that when i get back from Germany in October.
  2. Stickers? huh? I really did that just for kicks....i kinda like it, it makes ppl think...and it was cheap and looks authetic. lol Call it rice if you want, cuz i know that in the real, it 99% is. Still....its not like i threw a Type R badge on a Civic, put big wheels on, cut my springs, put a fat can and a shiney pipe with a cone on it and say that i am fast....that and lay the seat all the way back and reach a MILE and a half to the wheel, only to drive with one hand in the 12 position.
  3. I dont care how many second it makes the 1/4 in, i really dont. Seriously, i dont care. The onyl thing I car about is the speed matching that of a WRX first...then STi. Even if its only as quick as a lightly modded WRX...Id be more than happy. The handling department is my MAIN concern...reliable power output in the 200-230 range is next. My rant on rice is....just that, a rant.
  4. I hate, with a passion, anything and everything FATF. I hate Rice, Rice boys/girls, and everything associated with the ricer world. unless it can back up its rice with real power/handling/drivability/reliability/functionality, its nothing but POS rice. There are SUBARUs that have suffered the fate of being riced out, but i will NEVER have a Rice'ed up SUBARU.
  5. Those are the "Touring" wagon versions. non turbo and 2wd also had that.
  6. Why yes, there is! Its in my head. I am going on estimated guesses, experiences of others and their builds, approximations on similar products on other engines and the gains they had. By my approximation, on stock internals...the stock engine management+full exh mods, intake+td04+delta cams=approx 210-240 depending upon the cams used (260 vs 272) and boost levels/fuel/timing tuning and some other small things. Using MS+DIS should open up more, using the slighlty higher compression and lighter/stronger internals should get us to the 300 mark. Ultimately, I would love to build a 380 HP EA82T that's good for 20k miles of hard driving on the street. But, I will be plenty happy with a 40k mile 230~280 range EA82T.
  7. Delta Cam will grind something for me.
  8. ok...and your point? I could build one fo those too. I'd take a 95 brighton L coupe and get a version 5 or 6 or 7 front clip and pull some Lego action...whamo. A 2600lb AWD rocket. Granted it would be easier than doing the whole EA82T built up, as most of it would be bolt on or close to it. Still, i have no 'beef' about the Ultimate RX or the first 96 WRX coupe in USA, i think they are cool. I'm just going build an STi beater out of my GL-10.
  9. DIS BABY!!! When you get the DIS stuff you've got tuned in well...Id like to see a parts list and then i'll get it and start playin wid it.
  10. Ya know, it just occurred to me that I seem to do everything bass-ackwards from what "everyone else" would do/think.
  11. On another note...i have HEAVILY considered an N/A Build.....10.5~11:1 compression, cryoed rods+crank+pistons, turbo OE HG's, spyder+XT6 TB, header+exhaust....MS+DIS... Then again, i have seriously considered a Carbed Build on a MPFI+Spyder engine, and running one of my RX shells, FWD in SM or some prepared class. Another EDIT: For those who dont believe me...I HAVE considered an EJ build as well. If i ever do an EJ...it would be an EJ22G/EJ257 N/A build...10:1 compression, EJ257 HGs with the 2.5RS DOHC heads with some pretty nasty cams....
  12. yeah yeah yeah, im insane. i know that I do need instant or near instant power in autocross. I am aiming to get a HUGE compromise in peak power and instant power. I aim to have a flat TQ/HP curve once i get past 3000....seems that even on that ULTRA TIGHT curse in VA, there was ONE spot where I was at 2800, the corner before the finnish was 1st gear. I think that if I would have been on street tires, then i woudl ahve been all over the mid 2k rpm range....since ive got R compunds, i think that unless its a stupidly tight course, I can make that powerband happen on autocross. BIG WIDE STICKY tires are certinly a BIG BIG playa in autox..... And I HATE LAG. I HATE Vtech hondas...... vrroooooooooooooooooooooommmmmmmm....*vtech starts* VRROM! *shift*.....vrrrrooooooooooooooommmmmmmmmmmmm.......*VT S* VROOM! *shift* Um...no. Me=Anti-rice BIG TIME! Honda=Rice (90% of the time) WJM's Ultimate EA82T= vvrrrrrrRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *shift* vvVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EDIT: And i hope to do well in the 24HRS if Steven ever finds a friggin site. The only mods i can think of that i would have by then are the new front struts and *MAYBE* the big delta cams...*MAYBE* Otherwise, it will be as you seen it yesterday. Oh, i might swap out the rear springs again and adjust on the coilovers some more.
  13. Yes, I am 20. The cams will be the 272 Delta cams. possibly the 260's. Thos specs have been posted else where on the board. Pistons: 8.0:1~8.5:1 compression...some kind of forged chrome molly alloy...have not picked out for sure what I am going to use. Same on the rods. All of that plus the crank will be cryo treated and the crank will be knife edged and lightened up. VF22 turbo - monster port/polish on both sides, more efficient turbine/compressor wheels and a twin scrool housing, I've not picked out injectors, but i know I will need a 550CC+ range. The flow restrictions? TWE header, and a TBE, open intake, spyder manifold with an XT6 throttlebody, Gen 4 heads and I'll clean up the ports on both sides. I will spend only 3~4G's on the engine alone. Correct. There are no STi parts for the Leone series. Simply putting on higher rates w/shorter springs does do quite a bit for the car. But there is more to it. camber/caster plates, bushings, tires/wheels, toe adjustments....the Impreza suspension is not far from the design of the Leone. the major differences I see is the control arm and the 5 lug stuff. I see ways to make it just as good. I would not have a use for the front park brake, so why have it? I will convert to rear. what are the unanswered questions? I am not some rice'er punk-rump roast. the only time street racing is appropriate...is never. While it is true I do put some rice'ers in their place from time to time, I never do it under circumstances that could possibly endanger anyone outside of the two vehicles. As for reliability? Sure, it might not last as long as a stock EA82T. But if i drive the STi engine like I am going to drive the EA82T stock or even the "Ultimate" EA82T...all things being equal, I imagine both will last close to the same amount of time. Granted a stock EJ22E will outlast all of those engines. Ok. Done. It is not to prove a point. This is for my own enjoyment. While I do love the STi and the entire EJ line, I am not going to spend $34G's on a brand new STi....and then spend even more to mod the crap out of it. Why would i mod it? To go to the SCCA Nationals to win Street Mod, thats why. My ultimate aim is to build this GL-10 to be a VERY potent track car, and to be able to win Divisionals for SM, and possibly place high at the nationals. If i were gonna do it just to prove a point, then it would not be of any use at all. Any more Q's?
  14. Either put them back on, OR install regular WRX bump stops in the rear damper/spring package.
  15. Not even XT6. Carbotech slotted rotors, ive got stainless lines sitting here waiting to go on, motul 5.1 and carbotech bobcat pads. There is the brake upgrade. BIG brake kit? TBA. I did say I was gonna Viscous center diff the trans... rallyruss: what is it that you want to know about my suspension?
  16. Ok guys, Ive done all the figuring, all the pricing...all the drooling too. $6000. Thats what it should, in theory, take to make the EA82T Leone be faster than the 2004 STi line. Spec C included. In stright line? YES. In twistys? YES. On track? YES. Impossible? NO. Reliability? The one factor unknown, as this is UNTESTED in real life to my knowledge. How? Stright: Rods, pistons, crank, intake manifold, throttle body, complete exhaust system, turbo, MS+DIS, 92/93/94 fuel, Gen 4 heads, light stuff on each end of the crank, clutch+pres. plate, viscous center diff, LSD front+rear, STi engine+trans mounts, good thick rad+excellent oil cooling setup, Mobil 1 synth oil, IC with good flow/cooling characteristics and a few small thingies here and there. Twistys: 15x8 or larger wheels with good rubber, Two pot up front and slotted rotors, carbotech pads/rotors, Motul 5.1 fluid, stainless steel lines, 5x100 hubs or something, poly bushings everywhere, Koni Coil over, OR the GR2+250 LB spings front and my coil over rear OR GR2 rear with 8x300 springs back there, camber/caster plates front, low'n'stiff (or firm like now). Track: As stated above. Reliability: R&D and testing will give answers to Q's. Why dont I do this? I don have 6G's laying around. This can be done, it WILL be done. There is the formula, +/- a few small things, if anyone wants to do it, there it is. I WILL be doing this. Oh and for the record, IF you get 300 HP out of the EA82T in a Leone chassis....you will be leaving an STi in the dust due to weight differences. You onyl need 250 +/- 5 to be even.
  17. if you drive the F out of it like i did...you will get about 24k miles out of a 9.5:1 turbo set up like I did. Otherwise...93 gas and about 15 deg of timing will get you close to 30 MPGs with a MT, and driving it "normally"
  18. IIRC, it means If I Recall Correctly......IIRC that is....
  19. IIRC, that one was sold in GERMANY...and not long before it appeared, a set of the wheels that it has on it went for sale that I almost purchased...both things were on EBAY.
  20. I strongly believe that car was a custom job...
  21. Might need to check some of the electrical connections....if all of that is sound...then...might need to get a new motor... USMB cost is about $160...and.... There are...none in the country that I can get at that cost....in JAPAN i can. Otherwise...there are none in dealer inventory nation wide.
  22. Yeah, and im sitting at work right now. Actually...doing THIS, is actually part of my job....aint it cool having a job that browsing and posting on USMB is something you are supposed to be doing?
  23. ...for those who are curious....
