Ok now....WHO is the actual person on here that makes the EJ engine to EA tranny adapter plates? I am going to need the 'adapter kit' soon.

Cone filters: How do you get cold air?
WJM replied to Phaedras's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
the design of the airbox and 'snorkle' is what give the car its low end. -
It must be an atmospheric thing. Ha. Ha. Ha. :-p

FUJI Bond...aka Super three bond or what not
WJM replied to WJM's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Of all the UG I've used, its never done what its said to do, and it easily comes apart. I never said that UG and FB are the same. -
6psi is normal. Mine is boosting 6 right now...well, actually 5.9. Sometimes it 7.5....sometimes 6.5....sometmies 8.

First of all...he's smokin some strong crack. Needs to put an AWD tranny back in. SUBARUs are ment to be AWD. Seriously, it could be the fact that 2wd and AWD auto shifters are wired a little differently...could look at pinouts/wiring for that, or swap that unit. Also could be that the 2wd is bad.

Coolness. I suspect the leak is due to either one or both of these two items: A: Not enough TQ on the bolts. B: Not using OE SUBARU exhaust gaskets. I used the OE ones (actually I think I RE-USED the old ones from the stock header, of course those were only....idk, eleventy billion miles old but looked fine) and only used the eleventy billion Original aged studs and nuts, the two stockers, and bolted it down as per normal TQ. No leaks. :-p Now fix t3h leak and get on t3h dyno. I want to hear all about the gains from that large hair dryer you have on it now.

Thats a SUBARU RX for you. Does odd things for no reason. If it makes you feel any better....my RX (fresh reseal and blah blah) running synthetic oil, the GOOD Motul 8100 5w30 synth...will, at random, on startup tick. Most of the time it wont...sometimes it will. I usually get out, stand in front of it, and say "Hey, stop that!" and it stops right then....and I go inside and wait for it to finnish warming up.

FUJI Bond...aka Super three bond or what not
WJM replied to WJM's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
hahaha...ultragray....what a joke. Of all the ultras that Ive used the Copper was the best. After it sets, its go enough to use as an exhuast gasket. As for the borwn junk and Porsche, I'll need to tripple check my sorces before I protest that. :-p -
FUJI Bond...aka Super three bond or what not

Oh, must be similar to what Porsche has...some really goooooey brown stuff they use for HG's on the air cooled turbo 6's back in the day. I doubt you could use this for HG, but it is used to seal up areas that there is no gasket....or you could ise it to seal up holes in something or what not. -
Ok, cool deal.

Thats cool Alex. I dont know, what is yamabond? -
Ok, the gray (or grey?) stuff that SUBARU uses to seal up all kinds of odds and ends...aka the cam case to head joint on the EA82...oil pans on the EJ's and all sorts.... We call it Fuju bond...its some tough stuff. I found a tube that was cut and spilled, and it was damned near impossible to cut thru or peel up....its still where I found it...stuck on that box and 1/2 dried up in the tube. Basically i think its a specially formulated silicone sealant made by FUJU Heavy Industies. Anyhow, we reguarly stock the stuff for our techs here...and one tube can easily reseal several tens of engines. How much interest would there be for this? Price would be $25 shipped on a tube (regular retail is $26...shipping UPS cost us around $4~$5 for the small stuff, so you are geting a deal). One tube is listed as 250G/8.8 oz. Its great stuf, I just got myself a tube! And the EA82 headbolt socket!

for a low production run, the prices are killer low. $399 for the header, and $199 for the DP. DP prices are VERY competitive with DP prices for the newer turbo subies, and the header is actually on par with other equal/tuned length ones for the EJ turbo subies. GOOD headers for the WRX/STi are in the $1,000 range. the low production run for the EA82T is a STEAL at $399.
-
Not saying...it just takes some serious know how and patience. Ummm...i guess $50 shipped. Paypal....thats with fees and all.
-
Exactly. More CFM with less work=more power. See, the TD04 should flow the same amount of air at stock boost, 7.5 psi, than the VF7 at about 10~11. Russ....thats one strange looking setup...and I cant see anything of the turbo. :-p
-
edit: after converting it to crank HP...its 231/295 actualy.
-
ive got two good MAFs and pipes. you cant use the 86-85 stuff....you'd have to rewire the whole engine stuff basically. MSDIS is a full standalone engine management system, and is not for the the weakly mechanically inclined.
