  1. I was under the impression that the wheel bearings couldn't be re-packed. And yes, cam seals are a common problem.
  2. I like getting, "A RX, I've never heard of that" from the parts guy
  3. I did change the oil, and put in 1 qt of marvel mystery oil, since there was only a few drops in the engine. I also got a brand new oil pump with the engine

  5. whats the honeycomb project?
  6. hmm, the oil level was nearly full when I 1st started it, then I topped it off after running a little while. Further suggestions? As far as the clutch, should I just mess with the cable adjustment some more?
  7. I messed up one of my power steering lines, and when I was driving home one day to work on the car, I realized there is a hose shop that I drive past every day. 15 minutes, and $10 to fix.
  8. Finally started it up 2 nights ago, just put in a jdm engine, used my old intake manifold and accessories. Some of the EGR and cruise control lines were not matching up, after looking through all my manuals and even going through year specific manuals at the dealership, I said screw it, and plugged the hole. SO I started the car up, and its got a horrendous tapping noise. I'm guessing maybee the valves need to be adjusted??? I messed with the timing, and this changed nothing. Then I decide to drive it down the road and back. I pull half way out the garage to discover my brothers broken down truck behind me does not leave enough room to back out. So I try to go into 1st and the car doesn't want to shift, and then it does, but doesn't want to go both my subarus aren't running and now its snowing
  9. Suberdaqve. I just swaped an engine from an jdm auto into my 5 speed , and the distributor was different. It had a bunch of extra wires coming off it. So I just used my old distributor

  13. I'm having the same problem, and the poor mans impact wrench didn't work, so I 'm just going to borrow the real thing tommorrow.

  15. As his avatar says, Please disregard, he's probably drunk. GC8 is an impreza code, legacy is BH/BG/BD etc
  16. sort of old thread, but it applies to me. so, If I were to just block this portion of vacuum hosing off, would it cause any ill effects? not one, but 2 actually there's 3 the epoxy idea sounds pretty good though. NO way in hell am I paying $89
