  1. He said he torqued the heads to 75 ft/lbs. Not 75 psi of boost. That would blow any car engine up. That's what hopped up semi trucks are running.
  2. This morning my blower worked fine and when i got off work it didn't blow anymore. It was still turned on, it just didn't work all the sudden. Its not a fuse. Any ideas? Thanks, Ryan
  3. Yeah that's pretty much exactly what i do. I start my car then brush my teeth and stuff then take off. I lose about 2-3 mpg but its worth it to me.
  4. Yeah i read that thread last week i think. And my car really doesn't like driving when its cold. Im not concerned about the mileage Im getting now, ive just been looking into weberizing it and don't want to get worse mileage. I mean improving my Mileage would be a plus but i Think just a basic tune up like plugs wires cap and rotor would Prolly make a big difference...
  5. Im aware of that. Problem is i work at 4 in the morning and frequently it is below 0* warming my car up is not negotiable because i don't wanna freeze my rump roast off for 5-10 minutes waiting for it to warm up and it runs like Hell when its cold. And i cant park close to an outlet so block heater is out. And being an ea81 car it already has electric fans. Im not complaining about the mileage Im getting now, i just know it can get better.
  6. I was wondering what effect a weber would have on my ea81 wagon economically. Im assuming i would get worse mileage. Right now with the Hitachi Im gettin about 21~22 mpg and that's with letting it warm up for ten minutes every morning. But that seems kinda low. In the summer i get 24~26 But that still seems kinda low. It seems like it should be gettin in the low 30s. Any advice on improving that? I would like to weberize it, but the small amount of Gain isn't worth a loss of fuel efficiency to me. I bought the car for a gas saver from my 3mpg ford truck. Thanks, ryan
  7. Its definitely an ea81. brats didn't come with ea82s...ever. Lol. And that's a good thing!!
  8. That's weird. yeah, i would say loctite is your best bet
  9. Haha. Ill trade you a 75 ford truck frame with some random body parts and a 351 with a 4 speed married to an np205. doesn't roll tho. Lol
  10. I know this should probably go in the wanted section, but does anyone fairly close to me have a good running ea82 engine they would be willing to part with fairly cheap? Thanks, Ryan
  11. Ok. Well at least i know what's wrong now. I don't think Im gonna mess around with my disty. Im just gonna get a junkyard one probably. Thanks!! Ryan
  12. K. Well at least i k ow my problem now. Lol. Schucks has remans with a lifetime warranty for like 170. ill Prolly just get one that's still good at a junk yard tho cause Im pretty broke. We'll see...
  13. There is a tiny bit of side to side movement. Prolly less than 1/16". Is that my problem or is that not enough to affect it?
  14. What disty should i get? How do i check which disty ive got?
  15. k, it started jumpin around again, but not as bad as it was in the video. its only jumping like 500 rpms now, but now when it jumps the car kinda studders a little bit. and on my way home from work today it started bogging and i got it turned into a parking lot before it died. i messed around with the fuel filter and lines cause it looked dirty and it started back up, so my next stop was schmucks to get a new one.(they didnt have the in-line one so i just got the under hood one). still kinda studders. you guys still think it sounds like a disty bushing? im pretty sure its either that or the coil. what coils are acceptable to use in ea81s? and how do i check the disty bushing? thanks!! Ryan
  16. Im pretty sure the voltage regulator is in the alternator. So get a Bosch reman and that will Prolly work better for ya.
  17. If it really is 180 out its gonna be hard. Use a punch that can fit in the smaller gap and hit it really, really hard. but every time I've ever had an axle 180 out the gap is so small that there's no way i could pound a roll pin in. So Idk.....
  18. Idk. I didn't tear into it. I started it up and after about a minute it was knocking pretty loud. Its got oil so Im guessing the pump went bad.
  19. women dont know how to describe whats wrong With cars. It seized up and and now its got a rod knocking. Gettin a new engine for it in the next couple weeks.
  20. Thanks. Where Are the fuel filters and pump located? Im used to ea81s. I think i might go check it out today and see what's up cause its out of town and i haven't checked it out yet and i got off work early today:banana:
  21. my dad let my gilrfriend drive his loyale for the winter and the other day she was going up a hill and she said it started losing power until it finally died. it still turns over and tries to sputter to life but wont start. my first reaction would be timing belts, but ive heard a fuel filter can cause some of the same issues. any ideas? snow is here and shes driving my 82 and i get her mustang (woohoo) thanks, Ryan
  22. Ill definitely have to try this too, cause when i make a really fast left my brake fluid light comes on. But the thing is it did the shake and knock thing before the repairs, so the PO would have had to not had the caliper tight enough too. Idk. I got to the point where i just stopped worrying about it but now that someone else is going thru the same thing...
  23. It sounds like your car does pretty much the same thing as my 82 wagon. I have never been able to figure out what it is. I've replaced the axles multiple times and put in new bearings and ball joints. Still does it. Im thinkin its either the tranny stub shaft is knocking around or the strut is bad. I dunno tho.
