  1. Yeah. That's a common issue with the 4 speed d/r. Third gear synchro always goes first. Most likely it will still drive for a very long time with no issues except grinding. But if you want to replace it you should get a 5 speed d/r tranny out of 85-89 GLs. Then contact bratsrus1. he makes a swap kit that makes this swap very easy.
  2. Your best bet would be to get an analog dash out of another car. The digital dashes are a pain.
  3. I like wrenching to hank Jr, waylon, Chris ledoux or Justin Moore...unless something makin me angry, then i go for Hatebreed or 5 finger death punch.
  4. A lot of people buy SJR kits. That's Scott in bellingham's company
  5. Yeah, this is factory and integrated into the steering wheel. So i figured i would have to use the whole steering wheel, but i dont even know if the steering wheels are interchangeable. But i know enough about electrical to get by, Im just unsure if cruise from an spfi car will work on a carb car. Also i don't know what vacuum parts i may need but Im pretty sure cruise uses vacuum.
  6. I have an 89 gl touring wagon parts car and it has factory cruise control. I was wondering. If there was anyway to use it on my 82 wagon. Thanks Ryan
  7. Definitely sounds like your thermostat isn't opening. Try a new oem t-stat from the dealer.
  8. +1 On the cadillac emblem. Thats the first thing That came to my mind when i saw the pic.
  9. K good. Cuz the driver side one is broken. The other side is good tho. Lol
  10. I have an 89 parts car that might have good lights. Haven't really checked. I would check later today if you want tho. The front driver side signal right?
  11. Most engine swaps are ej series Subaru engine swaps. You could put an sti motor or a 2.5 rs motor in fairly cheap depending on how much you get the engine for. Im sure someone's dropped a 350 in one, but that would take a lot of fab work and suspension that could hold up a v8.
  12. Im pretty sure i know the answer to this already i just wanted to be sure... Can you re-use head bolts or do they stretch when you torque them? Im pretty sure they don't but lots of other cars I've done head gaskets on do. Thanks, Ryan
  13. Yep. Loyales belong to the older generation. Post here and welcome to the board!!
  14. Id buy it if i had the money. I've been wanting a hatch for a long time now. Lol
  15. To check the cone washer take the cotter pin out of the cv nut and see if the nut is loose.
  16. I just picked up a parts car last week so that tranny swap should happen before too long. I gotta get my loyale running first tho.
  17. Yeah. Mine doesn't click. Its clunks. Its pretty violent. I've had bad axles and know what They are like. And yeah, the only problem I've had with the EMPIs i buy are the boots tear every now and then.
  18. I know mines not the axle. I've replaced lots of axles on these and multiple just on the side that's clunking. And it doesn't sound like an axle clunk. And if it was the other side would be doing it too because i was the one that replaced that one too. Lol
  19. I think mine does about the same thing. I've been trying to figure it out for like 8 months and I've replaced the axle twice...with EMPI axles. It even does it on the same side as yours. I've decided that it might be the tranny stub shaft as well. So Im gonna swap the 4 speed d/r for a 5 d/r and see what that does. Ill Prolly do the swap this spring so if you don't have it licked by then ill let you know if that solves it.
  20. Yeah. They come off pretty easily. Buy they look like crap with no bumper. Lol
  21. Im sure its fixable. Its definitely something wrong electronically if the timing is right. I would say it could be spark timing too.
  22. +1 unless you're tired car has a perfect body i would swap trannys.
  23. Check the actual defroster strips on the window. My wagon does the same thing and i thought it was a bad connection somewhere til i looked at those and noticed every single one of them was broken somewhere. If i ever want rear defroster again i have to get a new back window that still has the strips.
  24. Thanks. For some reason i thought i read somewhere That it was 4. i couldn't find my timing light when i put it on so i just got it to run. But it definitely needs advanced. I have barely any power. I need a new carb too and bad carb+retarded timing equal crap for power. Lol
  25. i got a new disty. i think i remember the timing is supposed to be 4*BTDC. is that correct?
