  1. Yeah. I was thinking the PS for off road too, i really don't care about it around town. So a weber on an import will generally be a 32 36? Also, what car would be best to find the brake stuff on?
  2. I've been wanting some kinda gun rack too. One of these days we need to get a case of cold ones and go mob the soobies up to lily and shoot the ak and sks Ben!!!
  3. Im probably going to take a trip to spokane pull and save this weekend, and i was wondering what all i should grab for mods. I was thinking maybe power steering and disc brakes. I have an 82 gl wagon. Gimme some ideas:grin:
  4. How much for the steering extension?
  5. Im glad you're ok, that coulda been real nasty! if you do part it out, how much would you want for the rear disc brakes and those Aux lights?
  6. I think its the emissions control sensor light. So a new o2 sensor. My ecs light is always on when my dash lights are on. Other than that it never comes on. Lol
  7. I just pulled my cap off and i found a bb in the disty. There's not any play in the shaft or anything, but i pulled that bb out and now it doesn't seem to be doing it anymore. But i haven't really driven it yet so i guess ill find out in the next few days if that was the problem. Thanks, Ryan
  8. yesterday when i went to warm up my car before work(i work at 4 in the morning and have a 30 minute drive to get to work, so its cold!) the tach just wasnt working. and it had done that once before a long time ago so i tried the same thing that worked then, i shut it off and started it again, didnt work. so i was just like whatever, not a huge deal right now. then after it warmed up and i was driving to work, the tack needle was just being really erratic, jumping around everywhere. heres a link to a video i took on the way back from work. what could it be? bad coil? bad connection? bad tach? please help!!
  9. Hahahaha. Now you know as well as i do that that's not true. That's why you wanna put an ea81 in your new wagon. Lol. It doesn't matter anyway tho cause hatches and brats beat em both. But they're ea81s also. Lol. So basically ea81 FTW. Or ej. Lol

  10. Im with Ben on this one, i think you should make a mobber out of it! But what do i know, Im just a dumb redneck that buys dual stereo equipment (which i think works great by the way lol). Whatever you do with it just have fun. That's my motto Ryan
  11. I've never used any sort of tool to get the axle out of the hub except for a hammer. Its really easy. It takes about 10 to 15 minutes to get the axle off. The hardest part it getting the roll pin out of the tranny stub part of the axle. You just gotta make sure you tighten it down really well when you put it all back together. Lol
  12. Its probably fine, but even if it is broken you can get another tranny at PAP for like 50 bucks. So id saw its worth it either way
  13. I like it. You should do it just like that! i think Im gonna rattle can my wagon camo
  14. That's awesome!! i can't wait to do the swap! So much more power:grin:
  15. So does the ej mount up with no modifications other than than the conversion plate? Or do you have to make mounts for it too?
  16. i made my front bumper, it looks pretty good. i made it from 2x4 steel tubing and chopped my fenders and wrapped the bumper where the fender piece used to be. i just welded mine to the frame. ill try and put up some pics when i can. its still not completely done tho. i plan on building a brush guard and stuff on it too. and im gonna build a rear bumper still.
  17. +1 if you have any "emotional ties" with your soobie you should keep it and fix it up someday, otherwise take the money and run. i bought my 82 wagon for 400 and it ran like a top, still does infact!
  18. ill prolly either find a wrecked lego for cheap or go to pull and save and spend about 200 bucks. well see when i get to that point. i just found a hatch for sale in town, so if i get that, then it will get the ej, not my wagon. i have big plans for a future hatch, hopefully this can be the one!!!
  19. Yeah sorry. I thought it was a manual transmission too. Towing is bad for at's unless driveline is removed
  20. Im just going with what jerry told me when i talked to him about the swap. He said to use the bigger ea81 flywheel and you don't have to worry about the bigger bolt holes and there won't be a harmonic vibration.
  21. Not true. As long as its in 2wd its fine to tow a 4wd subie. Just put it in neutral and you'll be fine
  22. Sounds easy enough. How much does one of your harnesses run? Its an 82 ea81 wagon. Thanks, Ryan
  23. Thanks a lot everyone! Im actually pretty good at soldering because i hate crimping. With wire Crimpers the question isn't if its gonna fail, its when. When i actually start the swap i will make a thread for it so any questions i might have at the time can be answered. I had another question about the swap too, although its not related to wiring. What am i looking at for motor mounts? will i need To custom make them or does it pretty much bolt right in? Thanks, Ryan
  24. if you get a flywheel out of an 84 or later ea81 it bolts in just fine and its the size youre looking for. overall much better and easier than ea82 flywheel
  25. ive been wanting to do an ej22 swap for a while now because im gonna want more power when i lift my wagon and put the big tires i have for it on. the thing that im worried about is when i get the ej in there im not gonna even know where to start for the wiring. are those chopped ej conversion harnesses that people on the forum sell pretty straight forward and easy to install?? please help me on this issue, i want more power and wiring makes my brain hurt!!:slobber: thanks, Ryan
