  1. Living in spokane currently, lets go wheeling soon!! I get ol' greeny back this weekend (thats whats nice about selling a car to friends, i get it back in same condition, maybe better!) and my bro is on east side now too with his 86 gl wagon.
  2. Loving the HATCH!!!!!! Any more pics?! Cant wait to EJ my '84 Hatch, only 6'' of lift... But I figure with 30 or 31s should be plenty of clearance! Nice work showing 'em how its done.
  3. Glad you got it fixed. On my ea82T I used Marvel Mystery Oil, added about a half bottle when I changed my oil and filter, ran for a bit couple trips to town (30-45 miles total), changed oil and filter again and was gone! On my ea81 I tried the oil and filter change, still doing it (TOD). I know my oil pump seals were good because I just put a brand new pump on and gasket, and a mickey mouse seal. Still ticking loud at idle and on rev. I drained the oil, took off the valve covers and on my #2 cylinder I had an exhaust valve spring that was in 3 pieces... Swapped it out with one from the JY and put new valve cover seals on. Done! It was tricky to put a valve spring on while the motor was in the car but is it doable! Pry bar and a 3/4'' wrench. The keepers are slippery.
  4. If there is a run in March I'm in! Won't be back to Washington until March 1. Can't wait to get back to driving my wagon again!
  5. Ea82 wagon 4'' homemade/custom lift resealed motor ported heads 14'' pugs with 27'' SSRs Good and dirty in this pic!
  6. not currently, i got a new cell and lost all my old pics....
  7. Not sure what you mean? Extensions? Brake lines? Shouldn't need to modify your driveline unless your swapping a 5speed d/r in place of a 4speed in a hatch or brat. Otherwise just get a ea82 driveline with carrier bearing two piece driveline... What are you lifting year and make?

  8. Just use stock rear shocks. It gives you the best performance/flex without breaking axles, believe it or not! I replaced my ranchos that the PO had installed and put kyb replacements on with a set of BOSS (Bill Omlin Subaru Specialties) rear shock plates, it drops it according to your lift size, mine were 6'', and I haven't had an axle break since!
  9. I will be back in Spokane on March 3. I have enough metal to make up a couple full 6'' kit. Its basically same as others, square blocks, strut blocks, but my rear diff drop is way sweet, full DOM tubing, had them prof. made! Still have them for sale.... Theres ways to do it CHEAP and RIGHT!
  10. thanks, i have seen a few on CL. and yes some time this summer some of us should get together! I will have a soob this summer!
  11. so i just made the move to healy, alaska. i am currently subaru-less... anyone on here have or know of an older gl for sale? doesnt need to be lifted or mods. preferably an ea81 model, that runs but needs work... thanks again.
  12. hit me up man. i got two for sale.
  13. for the ea81 people- my ea81, built up, is noisy again, after replacing broken valve spring (#4 cyl. intake) and reset the valve lash. I think i broke another valve spring, its only been approx a month since this all happened. SO- why or anyone else had problems with this? I dont drive it extremely hard, maybe 4500rpms max. I do however drive for extended periods at hwy speeds, up/down hills. Noticed power loss and rough idle now... idk thought id ask and keep the thread on topic! thanks for reading.
  14. Easy enough with some wire/coat hanger. Id go get a club! and not the beating kind... a steering wheel lock bar! They work, and are an easy/cheap deterrent to youth and thiefs. I am always paranoid that this or worse may happen to my soob... luckily it hasnt, and like many of your cars, my current ea81 and all of them 5 total, have been able to start car with just about anything, also able to pull the key out with car running. Also, next time you know your going to be out of town for a length of time away from Ned, unhook your battery and coil wire. Easy fix but someone in a hurry may not catch it.
  15. im going to be swapping out one of my front struts in the newt two weeks or so... if you want to come over and take a look at them i will let you know when i do. also anthony, I am moving and going to get rid of my subies.... that means both my wagons and my first car ever the hatch... will be a sad day. i will get another and lift it up there!
  16. ea81 built up with all the goods! 6 inch BOSS front lift, homemade rear. 28 inch SS TSLs.
  17. Have any for the gen 2 gl? SUBARU GL or the 4WD? Also how much for a big across the top of the window sticker/vinyl for an 83 gl wagon that says, "SUBARU' and I checked out the FB, looks like quality stuff!
  18. Id go to DG Machine down in Auburn. They are grest guys and very very well known in the racing community. One of the guys there is into soobs, i think he has a lifted ea82. but, they can do anything, really. From spin up your crank (balance), to machining the block.
  19. nope. its most likely longer... lets see some pics! i love the hatchback, was and still is my first car! more info on your car may help also...
  20. not a club persay. would be cool to have one in eastern wa (that was legit). i go up north in the woods alot, usually by myself. i did see a BADASS brat up in newport, lifted and MEAN sounding! its nice. maybe hes one here still...
  21. actually yeah they are pretty quiet! compared to either set of swampers i usually run. only if im in town and have my window rolled down do i hear the studs... and not all that loud. no complaints, ecspecially for the places ive gone with them.
  22. very nice! cant beat free!! thats a good car... have ea1s myself, 84 hatch, 83 wagon. and others... im near spokane but up nirth alot. also work at 49N. seen my green wagon around?! sure u have....
  23. yes. i run them as my winter tires, with studs. nov 1 putting em on. i run a 235/75/15 on 6 lug yotas. they are great in deep snow, ie over 18-24 inches of fresh! plowed the road with soob... ice theyre great. roll smooth and quiet ride. no complaints with these tires! never had to chain up, only for run!
  24. i have mine set to stock specs if i remember correctly. and its supposed to sound like that... its a solid lifter style cam. they make a little noise. if its overly noisy, go back through and check all the lash. run thru it a few times, not just once, roll it over again and make sure theyre as close as you can get them! i love it only takes me 30-45 minutes. i do have my timing advanced a bit. more than just a cam in my motor... working on more/different things with this motor.
