Wouldnt you know it...
Going to check the condition of my connection. Thanks for posting this, should be a good reminder to people.. The way that 1,000 watt amp and the two subs in the back of the car have been kicking...seems a bit too good to be true to be trouble free Also! In the first picture I notice you have the hazards located on top of your steering column. Was this just the way it was on earlier models, or is your vehicle a Canada import, having not to abide by the law necessitating those kill my battery switches most of us have there? Just curious.

5MT D/R difficult to get out of 4hi
You'll find if you just reverse a couple of feet, push in the clutch and switch it to FWD, it won't be that difficult. Also about the brake dragging, that's just the added resistance of having the entire drive-train engaged. You'll also notice that your acceleration is much slower in 4wd as well.

How are your front axles liking the lift? Any issues?

84 GL 1.8: front end inspection questions
Agreed. Just throw the jack-stands under the frame. Long rectangular looking piece of metal runs along the car from front to half-way back. Do be careful. You're going to need to get a big rump roast socket to get the axle nut off. A breaker bar as well, plus a piece of pipe to use as a cheater will be helpful as well. Make sure you've got all the tools you'll need first. Definitely replace the axle instead of rebuilding it. not worth the trouble if you're just doing it once. Also, if you don't have what you need right away, if the axle doesn't seem too bad when you're driving the car, you can get away with it for awhile if you are easy on the throttle. Especially during tight turns. My car needs 3 axles currently, as it has needed for over a year now. I'm very light with my gas pedal now, and as a plus, I've been getting fantastic fuel mileage.

84 GL 1.8: front end inspection questions
Iffin' you've got yourself confidence in your mechanical abilities, jump in to it and replace those axles. Read up on the process, go get yourself some punches to knock the roll pin out, jack stands, jack, be careful, and IIRC from the first axle job I did, don't get discouraged getting those roll pins back in there. May seem like they don't fit, but grease it up and get a good angle to hammer at it, it'll go. It's an involved process, especially if you don't know what you're doing, so expect to get stumped and frustrated, but keep at it and you'll get it if you feel you can do it.

Meet Margaret, the 1987 GL Sedan!
Just a couple of vids. Casual driving. Good example of my exhaust note with no cat and the magnaflow though. Cell phone quality video and audio, but audio isn't too terrible.

ea82 cup holder option
I think, after that incredible console/cup-holder picture was uploaded...that this thread should formally be closed. =P

Quiet Riot. My 87 GL-10
You know, that's a good point about your brakes. I've noticed the same thing after driving in snow. Mine have gotten back to normal now. Let me know if yours revert as well? Also "I think I broke something.............but that's okay" That's the spirit! lol

Maybe it has something to do with your hill holder being disconnected. My guess.

5 speed noisy when warmed
l75eya replied to foxgap's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXPretty sure that's where my GL is currently. I wonder if it's also a bearing noise in mine. It's quite a racket and it can clearly be heard coming from the back end of the transmission. I'm at about 10k into it with the noise. Flushed out and refilled with cheap-o gear oil last week. Will empty it and refill with something better later on down the road. Wonder how long it is going to hold..

Severe Hail Intercept Team: A family friendly thread. No weiner jokes allowed.
I second that notion. If you pop up in to this forum again and check out your thread, I hope you reconsider as we are all pretty interested in your line of work and choice(s) of vehicle! This really is a great place to share stories and learn and help others and it'd be a shame for a little stupid miscommunication mishap type thing to spoil that. Here's to hoping your venture back here! <---(It's soda!!! I swear!)

swapping auto for a 5 speed
I have no input related to your question lol, but if you do pick up this car and it has the quad headlight set up; I'm interested /goodwaytobump/

What Have You Done to your Soobie lately? (Please post in here and keep it going)
Will throw that in the vault for next time. Got the bolt off after sawing it but what a PITA. A vice would help, too.
