Wagonstien taking fully independent suspension to the next level
keep in mind that if you go the STI route '04 is the only year that shares the lug pattern with other 5 lug subi wheels... '05 and higher STIs have their own pattern.

What Have You Done to your Soobie lately? (Please post in here and keep it going)
Started on tapping out a dent in the rear right corner of my Brat... Ended up fixing the heater in the wife's suburban. Not a Subaru but hey, browny points go a long way when you have parts laying all over the place.

Saved another one!
Glad to see my money went to good use. If the body's decent and you don't break it in half I may be a buyer (: I have axels and 2 complete ea81 engines, and wheels for all your pre '85 needs (:

Tundrabrat Build
Been putting this off... but time to deal with it. I have a guy locally to "EXTRACT" the broken studs from these heads... These are the original "big valve" heads off of the original engine, studs were broken when I got it.

Broken Exhaust Stud Removal.

Broken Exhaust Stud Removal.
I've been putting off dealing with this, the time has come... I have broken exhaust studs that need to be removed from my heads. The guy who had the car before me managed to snap these off on the original 85', big valve heads. Other than taking my time and drilling these out does anyone have suggestions/tricks to try?

Tundrabrat Build
Finished tearing down the engine... ready to send out the heads and cam. No pics because nothing interesting... though I now see the difference between hydro lifters and mechanical ones. I worked on the tailgate today... no rust but had a couple of dents I had to work out. Needs a little more work but so far so good... unfortunately I had to sacrifice the original painted pinstripes:(

Flat-4 machine work?
What size pistons did you go with? I'm going with EA71

Cyclops Grill and light
3rd eye grill doesnt fit, you will be cutting the quad light grill... Specifically the one with the slats, not the honey comb. I've collected all the parts as well and I have the schematics (that I'd be happy to send you). I'll be doing this over the winter during the resto of my 85' as well.

Milk in the Air Breather
Yeah... Guess I should have just ripped that band aide off.

Milk in the Air Breather
Hmmm... Did your car overheat, if so did you grind the surfaces before you put it backtogether? Sorry for all the questions, just trying to narrow things down.

Milk in the Air Breather
How many miles since you did the HG?

Milk in the Air Breather
Any steam coming from exhaust or dip stick tube? Is it rough when it first starts? Does it look like coolant level is dropping?

How's it running? Check your spark plugs to see if they're wet.

Found a BRAT super B?
^^^ Always a good idea. 2G's is a lot for an older Subaru with a soft body, that doesn't run. If 2,000 is a realistic budget for you, I would look for a good deal out of state and possibly ship. If it has a "Super B" logo, it's fake... MOPAR wouldn't give up the copy right/licensing to that... unless it's got a HEMI

Did Subararu offer a tow bar in the early 80's (check out the pics)
From the pics it looks pretty home made... I haven't noticed those nuts before. The fence post is a nice touch (:

Does anyone have a suggestion of what gauge sheet metal I should use for rockers?!?

Tundrabrat Build
This weekend I was going to pull out my front apron but found out very quickly this was easier said then done. After taking out the radiator I have decided that this will be one of the last things AFTER I pull the motor. That way I can have accesse to the openings through the frame... yes frame is fine. I moved onto fixing my front left fender... and buying some additonal body tools (good excuse to by tools) On a side note... I found a set of steel pug wheels locally so the 4" lift is on! Thanks 86gl-10trbosdn! Doors and rockers are next on the agenda and heads and cam will be going off to be reworked soon as well.

Some Interior Issues
Crap... now I have something else to fix during the restoration:banghead: I was totally good with this just being a quirky little oversight by Subaru... and I thought I was helping out:(
