  1. Thank you so much. I spent some time searching through the forum for write ups on this and couldn't find anything good. I read about your problems with the adapter plate, and was wondering if you knew of any better adapters that fit the EA81 intake manifold. Or is the bolt size problem specific to the EA82 manifold? Also, you mentioned the extra water passages to be filled. Does this need to be done on the EA81 as well? Thank you so much for your wonderful write ups. Your knowledge is second to none and you write so clearly. Thank you again!
  2. Well.. I did it, I just ordered a redline weber conversion kit from JAM Engineering for my '86 Brat I've been having so much trouble with my old hitachi, I just can't take it anymore.

  4. I'm loving this thread! Congrats on the new house and garage. I am mega jealous
  5. Got a cyl 4 misfire in my '02 WRX. Apparently a coil had come unplugged. Ziptied the coil to the plug and everything is running smooth again
  6. I'm not in CA, but welcome to the board!!
  7. Beautiful! Just loving her! May your next soob be even more awesome
  8. welcome to the board and congrats on your new Crosstrek!
  9. The wiring harness is basically just an bunch of wires that go from one place to another. If you look under your hood, you'll see all sorts of electrical plugs and bunches of wires coming out of them. Some are fat, and some are skinny. All these in their entirety are the main wiring harness for your car. As for the wires that go to your seatbelt, first you'll need to remove the seat. To do that, there are normally four bolts to remove, which are usually on the track that lets your seat move backwards and forwards. Carefully lift the seat up, so as not to break any of the wiring under there. You shouldn't have to remove the entire seat from the car, just tilt it back towars the passenger seats (make sure you don't have any crap in your back seat or the foot well in the back as that can complicate things =P) Once you do that, you'll see a wire that goes roughtly from the seat belt buckle to under the seat. Just one wire going to a tiny connector. Check whether the wire is broken or the connector is crushed or undone.
  10. Fuses may be a good place to start. The fuse should say something along the line of H/L LH and H/L RH and is usually under the hood (as opposed to near the driver's left knee). If they are are done for, do they just look worn out, or is it a cleaner brake like they 'popped'? I think the fog lights are on a different circuit from the headlight and high beams, meaning that they'd have a different fuse.
  11. On the 2005 Baja, the recall was on the fuel pump (outlet pressure hose was liable to crack). Your cruise is probably fine. It disables itself whenever a check engine light comes on in early to mid 2000's Subarus.
  12. Welcome to the board! We are glad to have you here
  13. Welcome to the forum! Beautiful Brat you have there!
  14. I did the driver's side valve cover gasket on my '02 WRX. I didn't have enough time today to do the other side, so I'll be doing it later.
  15. I'm not sure about the 1st gens, but most Subarus I've come across have a little pin that holds the axel in place pretty close to where it meets the transmission. You'll need some punches and a hammer.
  16. Check for power to the seat: the fuse, the wiring under the seat, make sure everything is plugged in, no wires are broken and use a multimeter to make sure you're getting power to the seat. If all that checks out then it's probably the motor. The easiest thing to do would be to visit an auto junk yard and grab another seat for your year and model.
  17. Found a few extra minutes to install the new acc. cable. As you can see, the old one wasn't looking so good.
  18. I replaced the accelerator cable in my '86 BRAT. Here's a picture of the old one:
  19. The Legacy GT is a turbo charged 2.5 with approximately 250bhp. It's been done.
