  1. so whats the guess on the reserve anybody? im thinkin it must be above 3grand. guess i would say 3200 hundred. closest without going over!!!
  2. not sure we are on the same page here? your trying to pull the axle out of the wheel bearing right. and the axle has been removed from the diff. ? or your tryin to slide the axle off the diff? think we have different cars. im thinking ea81. ahaha seems the front and rear are different.
  3. are you trying to pull the axle out of the wheel bearing? sounds it. you need to get someone to hold the upper part of the axle. then you screw the hub bolt on backwards place a piece of wood over it and whack it repeatedly till the axle moves backwards. do you get what i am saying? you dont want to ruin the thread on your axle or the nut. it worked for me on the front.
  4. Im with this guy. thanks for all those kind nudges in the right direction!
  5. dude your ride is sick. nice pictures! were you the only subaru in the group? on second look i see what appears to be another 70s roo in the snow?
  6. wrong side of the state for me. im going to be doing interior and electrical work on my subaru that weekend maybe even some exhaust stuff too. take plenty of photos though will ya! peace
  7. just so i know are there any lifted roo's in colorado. if so maybe a snowy pass is in our near future:brow:
  8. not from here but i live here now! grand junction!:-p peace
  9. hey when you take the tire rack off please of please take a few photos. thanks and again that is a wicked rad ride
  10. hey can we get a close up of how you mounted that rear tire rack. oh and thats a wicked rad ride~!!!!!
  11. 21mm for the front end and i didnt un weight the car i just turned em in the parking lot. the back end is gonna take a extension off your socket but its not a 21mm should be smaller...
  12. there is a difference in the type of lug nut used between 504 and 505 there is a washer on one that mates with the wheel. and its a standard lug on the other. not sure which is which. singletrack and wasteland subaru know where you can buy sets of five lugs for pugs online for either 504 or 505. there should be no problem once you get the wheels... there maybe other differences in the wheels too like width and the shape of the holes ovals or squares. keep searching its on here somewhere.
  13. im torn between the idea of the tire on the top or off the back. i think stickin it to left inside is out since i want maximum space in the back. i may one day want to squezze my 6'1 body back there to sleep! im thinking along the lines of a triangle structure off the back that pivots down rather than left or right. i also want to be able to carry a bike off the tire so it has to be very rigid and centered. maybe upgrade to chrome bumpers so i can mount it above the bumper, its a big concern about destroying the rear end if i back into something since vision is reduced. i guess maybe the basket on the roof would be the best idea. those pics you put up of the hatches were very cool... i like the grizzly mountain decal that is too cool. what else do you guys think? any other options off the back of the car.
  14. i dont think i want to go and put a hole in the side of the car. im thinking along the lines of low impact. something that hooks in under the car and swings out or falls down so i can get in the hatch easily. and i wont have this huge tire on my roof.
  15. are you sure it wasnt one of those bacon cheese burgers:lol: not helping i know but hopefully you can laugh about this!
  16. that sure is a pretty hatch! is mikew on usmb? i would like to see a close up of the bumper and the tire rack hardware. i was figuring on using an existing tire rack to save me time in fabrication. thanks alot for the pics! like the idea of the shovel too!
  17. heheh you been hiding or what? good to see your helping out that friend of yours in iraq you should make sure you send lots of the wet naps they are like gold over there. thats what all my friend wanted his wife to send him. end
  18. well anybody got anything else to add to this post???????
  19. ok so the shop finally came through. i went and picked up the car today it drives straight and the camber problem is all fixed. i think the front end looks great. i guess they werent doing something right and it took a second try to get things right... i guess thats what you get for a discounted service(aka coupon for free front end alingment! thanks so much for helping me out with my questions. yeah its wheeling time. theres snow on the mesa:banana: peace all thanks again.
  20. the tires got worn before the front end alingment. when the camber was very exagerated. the tires still sit like this \ /. im not 100% sure they are facing the right way but i dont think that they got changed before i bought it. i am going to go pick up the car today and see what's up. ill post a picture and maybe im just looking at normal angles. do your tires wear on the outside at all?
  21. with the higher pressure wont this make the tires sit on the edges even more so. i was think of letting pressure out to let the tires ride more evenly.im a little confused as you can see. i will work on a picture sometime after 11:00 today. only free chunk of time i have. thanks alot
  22. the struts are already adjusted all the way down. if i get a smaller struts what size should i get? is there a way of knowing what size strut i have maybe they are to long? i dont think i want to get into moving the control arm! i will get a picture of the camber issue sometime today. thanks you guys
  23. does this mean that all lifted subarus are burning the outside of their tires? one rim is like a 1/2" wider. its on the front could this be my problem? i just need one lug with the special washer on it and i could run the same four wheels all around. i will move the odd rim to the back once i get the car tomorrow its still at the shop i didnt have any time to pick it up. what other kinds of problems could there be?
