  2. pretty sure most respones will be split on the right way to do this. i didnt use any special tools outside a tap and a hammer. hardest part was putting it back together. oh yeah be a good idea to buy new seals, too.
  3. I see alot of these babies in colorado. i even seen one chopped into a pickup.
  4. still new to subaru's. im working on singletrack to get his roo story in this thread so i had to give a little to get a little, ya know. i thought a small deveation from the topic would be effective for this reason. if i had pics to show you'd be more forgiving! nice going by the way with stuck story and pictures very well done.
  5. looking forward to singletracks addition to this thread. we had a good time getting stuck and unstuck in his roo last year. hopefully he can come up with the goods.(hint, hint) suttle arent I? my best stuck story doesnt involve a car. i was on a quad back in new hampshire poaching snowmobile trails in the spring with my g/f. we were tearing through the mud making a mess.(young kids!) when all of a sudden a huge mud hole was in the trail. eh, i was on a yahama big bear no problem. went for the middle, no skirting this monster and bam thick black mud over the foot pegs completly stuck. posted signs every fifty feet means serious private property owner. so quickly gather all tree debrise dig out trenches in front of tires with feet and hands, lay branches. then find huge rock and long stout branch. use the rock as a prop to lever off of with the long stout branch to break suction, while the g/f gives it gas like the cops were on her rump roast. funny sight it was, her fish tailing that beast out of the mud. she had to work it hard or it would have slipped off our little tracks to freedom. so we are out! celebrating our success with some much needed herbal remedies, and incomes pissed off property owner. the hole was a mess and i really felt bad. just about a whole tree was in the mud and a big huge rock. the guy most likely used the road alot in the summer and would have to do alot of work to get it back. i tried to calm the guy but he was too upset. he took the expired reg. # off the quad and i booked it out of there. what a great time i had. never heard nothing about it either. looking back at it now i think its the fastest i ever got into and out of trouble. now lets hear the roo story!!!!!
  6. what are you going to do with that pushbar. got plans for it or what? just checking in case you dont want it. oh yeah nice find by the way!
  7. i dont know about what your looking for. but i have sued a tow truck company in small claims court before you just have to prove that the driver was incompetent... aka get a tow truck driver that knows not to tow a car this way as a witness. you can get witnesses, the more the better, get the mechanic to say there was another way to tow the car and that the damage caused was by the towing because hes seen it before. make sure you get the driver of the tow truck too. he sounds like he may just prove your case on the incompetence area alone. just keep your cool and get the people you call to the stand to do the talking for you! the tow truck company has insurance for this sort of thing and you will be going against their lawyer. who most likely will be pretty lousy and if you talk with your witnesses before hand will most likely plead your case to him during questioning again furthering your case. i have no idea what your damage is going to cost you though and if it goes to a higher court than good luck. get a lawyer or cut your losses. lawyers suck up any money you could hope for. about the car
  8. i think this means in car repairs!! at least thats my take on new england winter driving and colorado winter driving. colorado being alot easier to drive in than new england! and i stress alot easier!
  9. i can only imagine what kinda terrain this car is capable of surviving at speed, what a beautiful thing!!! hope you keep us up to date on your future fun! peace:D
  10. doesnt that concrete look comfortable to work on (oh yeah we laid down some cardboard for added softness!)!!!!!! at least it was dry under the car! have to give a dance for two lifted subarus at the same house.
  11. will you need to do any fabrication for this to work? i have access to ea82 exhaust stuff just wondering!
  12. I have put alot of miles on the highways of america been to both coasts and seen many cars without tags. more in texas than anywhere for some reason? anyways! since your buying this car from a dealer why cant he give you temp. plates? i would go without plates rather than trying to fit in with your fake ones and get pulled over for some minor infraction then screwed over by some hodung cop for trying to deceive the law. thats just me i have a way with police officers. as long as you have the title the cars yours. oh yeah and dont forget your license have a safe trip on the train! peace oh yeah nice ride
  13. think this sums it up. your not too old either.
  14. those dam finns still ruinin it for everyone. if there just wasn't so many of em..... i used to like to see my friends riding thier ATV's down on route 31, till the cops showed up and they would just drive across the river and wave:-p. which i have plans of doing my self shortly only in the subaru. most of the formalities of waving at the cops and saying your sorry can be easily avoided by ditching em.... lets see some pictures of your roo!!!
  15. this is not a problem in mason. hence the lights out tactic mentioned.
  16. i grew up in greenville!! i bet i know what sign you knocked down. where you at in mason?
  17. considering using something like this for the interior of my hatch. since i will be in and out while wheelin with who knows what on my feet and the occasional beer that decides to bite it on the floor. i think a rubber coating would make clean up rather easy and prevent that funny odor that beer seems to cause when mixed with car interiors carpet... i know its off the topic of the thread sorry!!!!
