  1. nah...its a lost cause....just sell it to me...LOL Actually, I have a ea82 motor sitting in the backyard here in spokane. It needs a few parts, but Id let it go real cheap I have a 5 spd tranny also, but alas, its only a front wheel drive....sorry.
  2. Well, I have been putting up with the stutterings and hesitations but they are really starting to get annoying. I replaced the fuel filter, cap/rotor, plugs, wires, and air filter. It seems to stutter when I really give it gas hard. I does it with turbo on or turbo off. What else can I check?? Could a timing belt be off one tooth, or maybe even the timing itself is off??? I replaced the timing belts about 6 months ago and I honestly dont remember if it stuttered before the replacements or not??? Please help. Im hoping Barracuda's problems didnt jump from his car to mine.
  3. Cool!!!! What kind of "scoop" is that?? Got any more laying around?? The car looks friggin sweet!!!
  4. Matt at 1stparts is awesome to work with. Just wanted to say to anybody else that needs parts, this place is great to work with and prices arent too bad either . Ive heard good things about Jason (J) also but have not dealt with him. Its hard to find a good trustworthy place to get parts, but I feel confident these guys are that place. Just an FYI and its not off-topic so mods....dont move it :-p
  5. I have friends??? hahahhaha How bout I pay you to find one at the yard Got your 9 bucks too
  6. Whats the connection for bigger radiators?? Looking for the ea82t 1988 wagon. Want atleast a double?? 1stsoob doesnt carry them or have access?? Any other ideas?? Thanks
  7. Well....I tested it hard last night and got no rubbing or vibration in the brake pedal. Before I did the grinding I could feel the "contact" while braking and hear it. Now I cant hear anything nor can I feel anything. I think it will be fine. Besides its temporary until I get the GL10 put back together....which should be this weekend. Thanks again everyone
  8. good point:) I will do a harder road test tonight
  9. Well...I fixed it. They were barely rubbing so I did some grinding. Hardly any grinding at all....mostly the casting marks is all I needed to grind. Soooo, should have no future reprecutions (spelling???) from the grinding. Woohoo I have studded tires!!!
  10. I only need a little room and the calipers have plenty to spare. Im curious how much I could shave without having future problems?? But then I have a set of wheels that dont do me any good yep...they work just fine. I have them on the rear with my originals on the front...looks ghetto...LOL Thanks for the information and diagram
  11. There are no drums..... simply rotors and calipers. The wheels are rubbing on the outside of the calipers. Should be able to grind it down with no problems. Whats strange is they look identical to my 88 wheels, just grey instead of black??
  12. I bought a set of 4 steel wheels with 185/65/r13 studded snows on them for 50 bucks lastnight. They are the common grey steel wheels and supposedly came off an 83. Well, I put them on my 88 and the calipers rub hard on the wheels. Can I grind the calipers down a little?? I thought all sub 4 lugs would work?? Didnt realize there was a difference?? Any ideas??? I suppose I could do the Idaho unmount and remount on my current rims??
  13. I just did this on a honda before I sold it. May be different on soobs?? But here is what I did and it worked awesome!! 1. remove all radiator fluid 2. Take the thermostat out 3. remove bottom rad hose 4. place garden hose where bottom rad hose met engine 5. turn on the water and flush the engine you want a closed circuit except where the rad hose was removed and garden hose was placed. You will get antifreeze on the ground so cover your steps there. Just run water through it until its purely water. This should remove all air bubbles and when you fill it properly and burp it, should be no problems. best of luck
  14. Hey Kyle...yeah, I gave him (my brother) your number. He was saying something about money, christmas, and having to pay insurance on two rigs.....so im not sure how serious he is. How bads the legacy?? You got insurance on it, gonna fix it, or???? Was yours a DR??? I didnt think it was?? Wanna trade for anything
  15. WOW.....Im tempted to drive to portland this weekend to buy your car!!! I would love to find another ft4wd with DR!! That car is worth fixing in my opinion!! about 200 bucks for a complete gasket set..but then head work if its needed could run another 250 if it needs welded, milled, re-valved, ect.. But, you cant buy a good beater for 450 that would compare to the GL10 after 450 is dumped into it. If you meet me half way Id buy that car in a heartbeat!!!
  16. Awesome!! Congrats!!! Best of luck......now your posts are gonna decrease
  17. how much??? I might be interested pm or email me if you want.
  18. huh??? Lost me on that one?? If my fist will fit in the hole, then fix it? But if my head with fit in the whole, fix my head first??
  19. Thats what I want to do. Just cant make up my mind on which one to keep. The blue GL10 would be the keeper hands down, but the rust scares me. Thats the only bad part about the GL10. It will have brand new heads and complete reseal by the weekend. But I can pull all of the engine/tranny/full time lsd and put it on the grey 88gl too (which has less rust)???
  20. No need cause I got a set of heads already for the blue one....and a complete reseal gasket set. I cant bring myself to it. Its in great shape and could do someone as a real good driver. There are no issues with the grey car except 2nd gear rinds a little....and it hesitates a little. Nothing major though. Not sure??? How do I tell?? It says "full time 4wd" on the door??? Havent looked at the diff sticker yet??
  21. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showgallery.php?cat=618 Here are some pics finally. What do you think of the rusted areas?? The frame one is the one that concerns me. These rusted areas seem to be isolated, so thats a plus to the downside.
  22. both are runnable and in decent shape so I gotta get rid of one Heres some pics of the rust on the GL10. WJM...you are correct....my grey one is a GL turbo, not GL10. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showgallery.php?cat=618
