  4. hahahaha....I just got done signing up for a month of carfax, ran your number that I had written down, and then noticed it was already done. Hope it helps;) anyone else need a carfax???
  5. I cant see the pics....sounds like a blast though
  6. yeah....I figured that much as far as the agreement....besides Id never do anything about it just be a little frustrated, thats all. The irritating part was the guy wanting to buy it was standing there when I was talking to the seller on the phone and he knew someone else had already bought it but offered more money to make the sale. The least the seller could have done was given me an opportunity to match the price since I was already buying it, but he just saw the extra 75 bucks and said sold. Im done venting now....its done and over with...no need to whine about it anymore ...but still that was my lsd 5spd dr awd and rebuilder block/heads for the wagon....darn it!!! hahahahah good nite all and thanks for letting me vent. probably never find another score like that one
  7. nevermind...someone bought it out from under me:(
  8. Not a cool thing to do at all... I called and made an offer on an RX for 300.00 bucks this afternoon and the guy said "sold". I told him I would pick it up tomorrow afternoon. Done deal I thought. Well, he calls me back and says someone else just stopped by and offered him 375.00. Im thinking, alright, but I thought I bought the car??? For some reason I thought in the state of washington that this would have been a contractual agreement when he said sold to my offer, but who knows?? SO.....to who ever bought this car out from under me......not cool at all especially knowing someone else had already "bought it" and to the seller....not cool either . Sorry...had to vent cause there went my 5spd awd dual range with lsd...Im not happy and I hope whoever bought that car fesses up!!
  9. what do ya think its worth without those parts??? just curious whatchya think
  10. Its the smaller 2 door sedan/sport style body with the rear factory spoiler and ground effects...does that help?? kind of like these here: http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/549351 http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/331203
  11. Anyone interested in an 89 RX with no motor, tranny, axles, or exhaust?? Basically you get the body, interior, wheels/tires, 4 disc brakes, ect... Body has a few little rust spots but nothing major....the drivers seat has some cracks, but otherwise interior is in great shape. The car is white with grey interior. It also has a whole extra set of front and rear seats. Any interest...if so what is it worth?? thanks
  12. What about the DR awd like the rx's?? Would that be cool?? Or would you still prefer a DR 4wd over the DR awd (in a turbo ea82)??? Thanks for the feedback:)
  13. Is the all wheel drive on the late 80's subs better or worse than the 4wd?? Is there a big difference in gas mileage or reliability or anything else??? Would you prefer a awd to a 4wd?? Thanks
  14. Can I put a DR 5spd all wheel drive tranny, ect..from an 89 RX, in my 88 turbo wagon?? Im assuming if it works I would have to transfer axles, diffs, ect... Curious if the driveline is a different length or of any issues that might not make this a feasible swap??
  15. Which year, model, trans, and motor is/was the best combo subaru has put together?? From what I gather the 2.2 and manual tranny sounds like the most reliable combo, and the 2.5 DOHC with auto was the least reliable?? Im looking at getting the best possible rig I can for my wife and two small daughters. It seems like anything with a 2.2 has high mileage around here. I can find a couple of 2.5's with low mileage but the experts on here say stay away So what should I look for?? thanks
  16. All is can say is WOW!!!! I spoke to Emily and she was incredibly knowledgeable and on top of her game. She seemed to know everything and was more than extremely helpful. I do not think I have dealt with someone as cordial, knowledgeable, and unbiased in a long time as I did with her just now. They will definately get my business if/when that time comes. She answered questions truthfully that most shops would have answered with what they thought you wanted to hear, but not this shop, they told it how it was.. PROPS to this company!!!
  17. I know im gonna sound like a tard, but whats so special about this interior?? I might just have to go dismantle this rig and auction of the parts:lol:
  18. I would greatly appreciate it if anyone had a carfax account and ran a number for me. I would forever be in debt to you Here is the vin jf1sf6553wg752263 Thanks
  19. It has a tow mount under the front bumper with a light plug in also. It was towed on all 4 wheels in neutral. The owner is fairly addiment that it wasnt towed that much and when it was it was for short distances. He says he consulted with Subaru and his manual prior to towing and that they got the 5 spd for that reason, over the automatic. It was towed on all 4's.
  20. what would be damaged by not disconnecting the driveshafts if its a manual tranny? Just curious, not questioning the concern:confused:
  21. Alright, here is the scoop. Its a 98 fully loaded with heated leather, 5spd, 68k, non-smoker, original owners (mature older retired couple), power everything, cc, tilt, air, power heated mirrors, ect.. They towed it on 4-5 trips, the furthest being 400 miles round trip. I have looked at a few used ones now and this one is only $9500, which in comparison to the others, is a really good deal (for the PNW that is). Would this being a "towed vehicle" cause any issues?? The owner said he took it in for a little oil leak and the subaru service fixed it. While it was in there he had the timing belts done also. Im leaning towards this rig as the others I have looked at have not compared. And for the price difference I dont want to jump to the 99's or newer. I have read and understand that the Head Gaskets may at some point become an issue. I have some mechanical inclination and am not pushed away by the HG issue. However this will be my wifes car and she will be driving my two young daughters. Would this concern anyone?? Thanks
  22. Im looking at buying a 98 forester....whats the general consensus on these rigs?? Its a sub so its gotta be alright:brow: Any downfalls or known issues with the foresters, or maybe just this particular year?? Also, are there any typical problems, ie timing belts, ect... Im looking at replacing my wifes 93 honda accord (I know...please be kind and dont bash too hard.. ) with this forester. I have two young daughters and want a safer, more convenient rig, and it HAS to be a sub. Thanks for any input. Patrick
