What Else Should I Do While The Engine/Tranny Is Pulled?
I got a clutch kit online for a lot cheaper than advance auto sells one for. The box said thepartsbin on it when it arrived.

gizmo between exhaust and engine?
Its a heat riser that goes up to an "air suction valve." They have been removed by people before but they don't really hurt anything in my opinion.

91 loyale to 82 brat swap
Useful search results http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/usmb/forum/search.php?s=&action=showresults&searchid=38376&sortby=lastpost&sortorder=descending Make sure you understand the 82 Brat trans is unique in that it uses the smaller clutch disc...McBrat points this out in his post in that search result. Rear driveshaft will have to be lengthened.

Has anyone used a tow bar on a Subaru??
Oh if you have an auto trans in the toad, u can put stub axles in. Check out RV websites for some really cool towbars. Some have built in braking systems, etc. Mick found his towbar on ebay.

Has anyone used a tow bar on a Subaru??
I used Mick's towbar to get my 83 Wagon home from WA state to IA. Used a U-Haul thru the mtns, and my 90 Legacy on the flat land from Rapid City to NW Iowa. Later finished the voyage from there to Eastern Ia with a pickup. The towbar was excellent. I have also borrowed it on other occasions to get my Brat around and Mick and I have both had instances where we broke the front towhook off cars and couldnt use the towbar anymore. This is usually caused by turning too tight or a rusty front end. If you have a really roadworthy solid car and a manual trans in it, go for it. I don't see any reason not to do it and would do it again but be prepared for the worst (having to rent a dolly). Definately use some safety chains too. Turning was the only thing I didnt like, and you cant back up either (so they say...I did it a cpl times without problem).

They rebuild Subaru Carbs, but they would want yours back for core.

Quick brake question
I dont remember the answer but I think this is explained in the How to keep your Subaru alive book.

Euro SUBARU Libero 4wd?
Thats got a Justy engine in it basically. They are shorter than an EA82 Wagon. They sold them all over the world apparently, just didnt get them here for some reason....my guess might be safety standards but I don't know for sure.

Impreza Outback Sport Owners
Im looking for a real clear picture of both the rear liftgate sticker with outback on it with the tread surrounding it, and the door sticker where it says Outback Sport. This is for a project car and an original sticker wont do for this. If you have a digital camera and wouldnt mind helpin me out that would truly be appreciated.

*..More Horsepower?..*
Conversion to a 5spd instead of the 4 makes it feel like its not stuck under itself so to say. Could do a carb rebuild or convert to a Weber Carb too. You can get some thru going to more of a dual exhaust setup but its not much in my opinion. Some guys on here are making some pretty amazing EA81 engine upgrades. Plug some of the keywords into search here for good results.

Brake light?
Some Subarus have STOP LAMP, others I have seen have a brake light. If you dont have Stop lamp then check the bulbs in the brakelights. If they are all good its the indicator for the master cylinder complaining about fluid level or its sticking.

Need help diagnosing this new noise
Did the vehicle sit the 6 months while you were away? If so I would assume it is rust on the brake rotors and driving it some will clean it off naturally, or you can take steel wool or something and just sand some of it off. Would also be worth bleeding your brakes if you haven't replaced the fluid in them in a while.

91 legacy door locks/handles
ShawnW replied to subegrl's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXYou might want to pop the door panels off and watch the mechanisms work as you pull up on the handles, etc. Lots of times you can see something has popped off or isn't tight enough. Parts can be had, definately. Post a request in the marketplace here.
