  1. Wow, that really is a big difference in quality. Thanks for the info.
  2. I got this from someone on the forum. Check it out. http://home.comcast.net/~c.moe/pvc_mod.pdf You're looking for P/N 11813AA010. I was going to order one, but haven't got around to it. The kit is like $35 or so from 1stSubaruParts.com.
  3. I don't know if this will help or not, but the SOA reman's go for around $250-$300, depending on NA or Turbo. Here's a link to some - http://www.subaruparts.com/catalog/?section=400
  4. Just givin' a heads up bro. Don't really care one way or another.
  5. There's a good chance those will not fit on your car without a spacer. I don't know what the exact offset of those rims is, but it's probably around +48-53. Somewhere in there most likely. Our offset is +42, so a wider wheel won't fit. For instance, Pugs fit because they only have a +20 or so offset. In Australia some people have 5x100 adapter plates for such a conversion. The thickness of the adapter makes up for the width and offset differences. I've never seen them though, only read about 'em. Here's an example of converting to a 6.5' rim with a +50 offset - Clearance from strut housing to inside of wheel = 27mm LESS Extension of outside edge of wheel = 11mm MORE
  6. I emailed MrGasket tech support and they verified it. Time to redo my mount. Question -"Someone told me I shouldn't have my #8140 in the stock horizontal position. Something about it overheating. True?" Answer - "Correct it is not a very good idea, it is oil filled and when overheated can leak. "
  7. Here's another wheel for the archives. Check it out. http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2474460389&category=40257 Wish I had some way of scoring those. Depressing.
  8. So what is it? It should be close if not the same. It's the only stat I can't locate. Thanks.
  9. Does anyone know what the center bore for the E82 hub is? I can't find the info anywhere. All I could find was 60mm for a Justy and 56mm on newer models.
  10. Brembo makes rotors for other companies as well. They're an OE manufacturer. I just put some on my wagon. They were like $25 each online with free shipping. Real nice.
  11. Here you go. Check this one http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=6734&highlight=4x140 Look on page 2 for Rallywagons post. He has some info on his 4x100 redrill.
  12. What offset are those? They look like they're stickin' way out. Did they come with the 4x140 or did you do that?
  13. I agree. If you don't like the thread, don't read it and don't respond to it. The search function doesn't always give you what you want, and a lot of the threads are somewhat inconclusive.
  14. I don't think ANYONE makes a 15" aftermarket rim with a 4x140mm pattern.
  15. I was talking to a guy at SpeedyUSA today and asked why they don't carry the "desert rat" wheels in the states. He asked me how many sets I want. I told him just one for me, but there should be some interest in them on the USMB. So, is anyone interested in these if the price is right? He said he would get back to me with a price. These are the ones - http://www.speedywheels.com.au/ZoomWheels/Desert_Rat.htm The 14mm offset would mean they will stick out 8mm farther than a Pug would. Roughly, a quarter inch. Which also means they would stick out a little over an inch more than the stock 42mm offset.
  16. That clicking followed by smoke after the cloverleaf is the PCV sytem. Check this thread out for more info http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=4598 My car wil also ping (click) hard on steep hills if I run anything less than premium in my tank. My EGR solenoid isn't letting the valve open to cool things down like it should. My solution until I get a new solenoid is just retarding the timing a little and running premium only. Less power and gas mileage, but no pings on steep grades anymore. Is your "check engine" light coming on?
  17. Sweeeet. Where on the hood/body are you thinking of placing them?
  18. I was hoping this chart was correct. Guess not huh? http://www.transwheel.com/cart/505.html
  19. Did the 15" pugs with the stripes come in metric? I have a line on 5 of 'em, but I don't want to get the wrong ones. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/80s/wheels2/tn_pug15-alloy-stripes.jpg
  20. I was on the freeway and the sube started mildly bucking at around 70mph, so I let off on the gas until around 65mph, and it stopped. Came back a couple more times along the way. Also noticed an intermittent hesitation from a stop as well. My idle started acting up a few weeks ago also. It will rarely go to 7-800rpm, mostly hovers around 1k-1200rpm. Any ideas?
  21. That IS cool. Makes me want to build a mini-bike chopper.
  22. I used to get a lot of BS back when I had an air-cooled VW too. Some people just don't get it. Worthless negativity.
  23. The few mods I made on my Sube didn't hurt it's fuel economy or drivability. And have helped me get the extra juice to finally make it up highway 50 to Tahoe without having to downshift on every hill. Definitely worth it to me, but I'm only referring to about $100 worth of stuff. And come to think of it, I needed new plugs, wires, air filter, and a muffler anyway. The money for the coil and better wires is offset by the savings in the muffler. So it's money well spent IMO. And
  24. I personally wouldn't order a CV from clear across the country. Think of the down time you'll have waiting for a replacement if you need one. I've heard the new A1 Cardone's that Kragen and Carquest carry are good, and a quick exchange if needed. Also, a bunch of parts stores on line are now carrying BRAND NEW GKN axle assemblies. They are pricey, but definitely top notch. There is also a company called GCK that makes NEW axles also. Not quite as good as the GKN's, but less money. I like the patch idea for a temp fix. Just keep an eye on it. Searches don't always produce good threads or info IMO.
