  1. How about that o-ring on the pipe that comes off the water pump? I don't know what it's called, but it busted on me once.
  2. Yeah, mine does the same thing every so often. It has a new pump and seals too. It only happens when it sits for a couple days in the cold though. I was thinkin' about flowin' some MMO thru her. The mechanic I talk to alot is a Subaru Master Tech., and he said the same thing about pumpin the lifters up. I've been pumpin' up my stereo instead, so I don't hear anything my Sube has say anymore.
  3. This place has all turbo's listed as the same kit. I don't know if this helps or not. http://www.coximport.com/oemclutch/subaru.html
  4. On mine I think there is a screw just on the bottom, not the top. The top just has a spring on it. Loosen the bottom screw, and the light should rise. Hope this helps.
  5. Have you checked the timing lately? My car was doing the same thing and the timing was retarded out of range.
  6. It's too bad we can't just throw some hubs from a Justy on our cars. They have the 4x100 pattern. Or a legacy would be even better. Tons of 5x100 rims with a high offset too. This guy did some intereting stuff to his Fiero hubs, check it out. http://fiero.cc/fiero-tdc/members/mws/Boxster/index.html
  7. Here's the formula for offset to backspace, if you only know one or the other. 1. WHEEL WIDTH + 1" & DIVIDE IN HALF = X 2. DIVIDE THE OFFSET BY 25.4 = Y 3. X + Y = BACKSIDE SETTING And
  8. I believe you can fit up to a double-DIN. The problem lies in the depth of the stereo. The standard installation kit available at most stereo shops has an 1.5" extension to make aftermarket recievers fit in nicely. http://www.Crutchfield.com is a pretty good guide to what you'll need, even if you don't buy anything from them.
  9. If anyone is interested, they make custom adapters here for around $65 a piece. It says they use Billet Aluminum for cars and steel for trucks. Looks to be high quality stuff, hence the price tag. http://www.wheeladapters.com
  10. BINGO!! I knew someone had to have done it around here! Post it as a thread, or go ahead and email it to me if not. Thanks! Let the search begin!
  11. This thread is about a "4x100 conversion", our cars come with 4x140 stock. No, they will not bolt on your car.
  12. Hey Caleb, do you happen to know the offset of the pugs? How far do they stick out? To line it up, could you use a hub off a car with 4x100 as a guide?
  13. It doesn't say. From the price and other stuff they carry seperately, I'd say it has the boot and bearing plate.
  14. I was looking to get some new struts and noticed the mounting kits. Is this a necessity or not? They're like $50.
  15. Sorry, I don't know which thread it was, but I believe it was under street modifications- wheels and brakes. I think one guy said the bolt pattern for mounting on the disc is 4x90, and so 4x100 would work good. I did see another that said the pattern for the disc was 4x100, but I think I would believe the pics on this site first. Looks legit. http://www.geocities.com/mickasubie/Mickas_Subie.html I guess those are just stock rims off a Corolla. I realize that's an EA81, so I don't know if it works with an EA82. I might be getting an EA81 in the future though, so either way I'm still curious about it.
  16. The point I was trying to make was that there are alot of other rim choices with a 4x100. There is always room for more choices, right? XT6's are getting harder to come by, so if someone was thinking of doing a 5x100 drill-out conversion, they could also have the choice of doing a 4x100. The forum I read said that the 4x100 was easier than the 5x100 to line up and drill. I think those rims would look sweet on an RX. Only $109 a piece. I wouldn't want anything bigger than a 14" anyway. I'm not planning on lifting it. I just want some nice 14's so I can put a little more tread on the road.
  17. When the "404" error screen pops up, just hit the link to the home page. Or just click this - http://www.edecals.com
  18. Has anyone on the USMB done a 4x100 bolt pattern conversion? They do them in AU, and it is supposed to be easier to line up than 5x100. I'm curious because there are a bunch of rims out there with the 4x100 pattern and close or matching offsets to ours (42mm). I'm already aware of the XT6 conversion and the 6-lug. And I ran across this offset calculator too- http://toy4two.home.mindspring.com/offset.html These are 14x6 with a 42mm offset. Come in white and silver too. https://www.theriver.com/ufinish/images/wheels/g-racing/suzu_black.jpg
  19. Me too. :boohoo: My noise disappears if I gently rest my foot on the pedal. Just the slightest pressure and it stops.
  20. I just got a couple quotes on that a few months back. It was over $1100 at both places. And that's not even from a dealer. I think resurfacing the heads and little stuff like coolant, etc. helped bring the price so high. My car wasn't worth it, but it had a ton of problems beyond the head gasket. Since you're in Colorado, I would think you might be able to shop around for a better price. Old Subes aren't very popular around me and the garages don't really need the work, so the prices seem to be high. If you have a place and time to spare to work on it, do it yourself and keep it.
  21. Did the shop tell you it was a head gasket? The price sounds about right.
  22. Damn, plenty of cold air out there! That's a "rig" if I've ever seen one.
